Started the hike on the yellow blazed Menominee Trail to the left (lake side) of the old ski slope. Fairly flat along the lake with packed snow or mud. The trail starts to climb after about a mile toward the AT shelter. We ended up taking the AT away from Black Mountain, doing the clockwise loop to the southwest of the lake. On the well-traveled section of the AT, the snow was fairly deep but there were enough tracks from other hikers so we didn't sink into the snow too much. The last section connecting Seven Lakes Pkwy back to Menominee Trail had not been used much so it was slow going. No clear views from "peaks" on this stretch of the trail as you are in the woods. Did not see anyone on the trail when we started at around 10:30 but there were a lot more people on the Menominee Trail when we came back (after noon). Hope to come back to do the rest of this trail.

Fun trail

Access road closed in winter.

First trail with this app. Dogs loved it.

This was my very first hike! I found Reeves to be beautiful and very exciting. This was not a boring trail and even with the snow and ice it was more of a challenge. This was a great adventure!! Would definitely go back!

I took the red trail to orange to blue to white. Slippery in the winter, but totally worth the extra energy to keep from falling. This loop really has a little bit of everything from scrambles to waterfalls.

Hiked on 9/29. Amazing, not too strenuous, short hike with one of the best views above the Hudson.

pretty good hike with a nice view of the bear mountain bridge and the Hudson river

Best winter hike.
Just don’t forget your microspikes!!

Very scenic trail and great for a long walk.
Not hard at all.

Nice in the winter, only saw a few folks the whole day.

this was a nice hike. you take the white to the blue on white to the orange and then the red on white. we had to double back a couple of times but luckily the map tracking helped get us back on track. the welcome center was closed as were the bathrooms so go before you get to the trailhead if you need to go. would definitely recommend this hike. The hardest part was the blue scramble up the rocks to get to the top but it's not too bad just some climbing to pretty great views.

Great hike on a beautiful January day. Lots of different terrain with some scrambles and great vistas. Definitely a redo.

Difficult but manageable

Nice overnight spike camp experience

Did a solo hike here! Looking forward to going back with friends!

Great hike - strenuous - there was a lot of snow and ice when I went - be prepared and careful treading through ice. We came to a point at the end of the hike where it was a straight path of frozen water and had to maneuver very carefully to finish. Amazing visuals and changes in scenery.

Great trail!!!

Well marked trail with a longer less steep option along the AT plus a steeper shorter option behind old bear mountain bridge house.

Good hike. We did white/red middle to Green turn right at Times Square follow green until yellow path again turn right and follow until you see white with red in middle turn left and follow back to start. About 7 miles. This path is nice in all different seasons. Enjoy and be safe.

Great trail, not far from NYC. Beautiful Island Pond is en route.

The short hike to the nose from 9d and back is to be
avoided on the weekend - to crowded or go very early .
Wonderful articulated view

This is a great hike. If you start at the Camp Smith Toll House and hike North, you'll cover ~5 miles by the time you reach the junction at the AT. Great views, but you'll catch crowds at the Nose because it's a popular destination. Some of the "quieter" views can be taken in south of the Nose (closer to Camp Smith).

Earned my bird by hitting it before sun-up and doing it North to South and back. The entire woods East of the trail is roped off, literally, by the military amd posted with signs threatening arrest, live fire or unexploded ordnance. The views to the west are unparalelled in the Hudson Valley. The trail has three ascents and descents back to the road so it feels longer than it is. From Anthony's Nose to the south, the road is pretty much never out of earshot and, given the Thanksgiving holiday, the trial was well-populated.

Great hike. Awesome views. Solid intermediate hike. Great for families and nature lovers. Went on a weekday. Only saw a family and a couple of people. There is a campsite 1.5 miles into the hike. Camped overnight on a prior hike.

We absolutely loved this trail. it was a fun mix of terrains with nothing too challenging at all. make sure you take the advice of the reviewer before me (Gigi Rong) regarding the direction in which you hike the trail as the section which requires you to do some scrambling is fun going up but would definitely be not so fun to go down. incredible sweeping views in addition to beautiful falls and foliage. The hike was definitely lightly trafficked too.. i really couldn't recommend this hike more!

Great hike with beautiful views! Make sure to follow the trail markers, we ended up missing the turn for the white trail and ended up on white with black by mistake....that added an extra few miles!!
