Got a clear day today 11/12 and it was phenomenal views at the top. With the exception of the first half mile and maybe last half mile (which are steep) the hike is pretty chill. Well worth it on a clear day, def be prepared for wind and dropping temps up top. Happy hiking

This hike is on the tougher side! The loop on this trail map includes the "most difficult" section (left) and the "difficult" (right). We opted to do the "difficult" as an out and back, which is actually just a bit longer than doing the loop. Some areas are super steep, and there are rocks on the trail as you get up towards the summit. The views are amazing, and the wind whips pretty wild up top. Our dog was fine the entire way, and we ended at 7.6 miles in 3.5 hours, including a 20 minute break at the top for snacks and photos.

What a surprise—2 mountain goats chowing down on the rocky cliff not far from the climbing face. On a nice day, this is a good choice for a hike close to Seattle. Sweeping views from the top but be prepared to hear I-90 traffic and see ever expanding North Bend.

Super awesome hike!! Totally kick ass though. Straight uphill and lots of switch backs, but worth it.

Pretty tough hike and a steady climb all the way! Fun to see the 1930's huts, very worth the climb. Lots of good off shoots to hike while up there too!

Your GPS will not take you to the correct trailhead. The correct trailhead is the same as North Cascade Head, but further down the road. There are signs.

I got engaged on Mount Si! Great day to go for a hike. Very clear and the trail was well maintained. There is a small spot where a tree has fallen over the trail and people have made a trail through it, but coming back down it’s hard to tell where it is. All over perfect day.

Hiked Iron Mountain last week and the view was worth the work. Pack a lunch and enjoy.

Always a fun little hike :)

Great view from the top! A little steep at the end, but totally worth it.

The rain has arrived. Trail was not really muddy or slippery, though the top was shrouded in clouds with zero views. Good exercise as usual. Tip for getting some view under such weather: at the UPPER talus loop trail junction take a detour onto talus loop trail. In about five minutes you will arrive at the talus pile. This is low enough that it can be below the clouds, but high enough to have a descent view.

Hiked it with my dog on 10/27. I am super out of shape but I pushed myself and made it up and down! I am proud of myself- as this hike is an ass kicker. It was beautiful. My dog had no issues, he’s in much better shape than me haha!!

Decent traffic, great views.

Loved this hike! It wasn’t hot this time of year and we didn’t see a single other person during the entire hike. Some signs had broken and were on the ground, but we had a map and it was easy to figure out where to go. The falls were pretty light this time of year, but we did see a herd of elk while on the Loowit trail (after we left the Truman trail). We also heard rockfalls inside the crater. A ranger told us after we got back that this often happens due to micro quakes under the lava dome.

optional scramble gives you a beautiful view. good work out. obviously lots of scars from the burn but still very worth it. booty burner.

The view at the top was SPECTACULAR- we saw all 5 peaks and it was totally worth the hike. Loose gravel and rock for much of the trail- definitely bring your poles. Lots of clear cut in the surrounding hills.

Not a terribly hard hike but the rocky trail makes it a little unsteady.

I might hike this trail a couple of more times but that's about it. It's a great workout and the view is nice at the end.

You have the choice of taking either the, "difficult" route or the, "more difficult" route. I regret to tell you I took the, "more difficult" route. It. Kicked. My. Ass. It was relentless. Constant climbing. Zero breaks. I recommend taking the, "difficult" route. Some parts of the trail, especially towards the top, are rocky. Wear legit hiking boots/shoes. I saw quite a few people wearing tennis shoes, which seemed really dangerous and stupid. The views are gorgeous, and even though I felt like jello by the end of it, it was worth it. This hike took me just under four hours. There's a $5 fee and a bathroom at the start of the trail.

Butt kicker, but a nice view at the top of the rocks. Only real downside is the number of people and an overall lack of trail etiquette

On a warm, sunny mid-October morning the trailhead parking lot was near full by 9:30 am. The trail is steep with a few small scrambles near the top, and amazing views at the peak. Go on a clear day to see the full beauty.

Amazing. Hard ascent but absolutely worth it

Wonderful hike with kids

Day use fee $5 :)
Pretty hike! Not particularly difficult - I was expecting a bit more of a challenge, but the view is nice and I love trekking through the woods.

Great trail! The switchbacks at the beginning/end are probably the most challenging part of the trail. The trail is easy to follow, well maintained, and the views at the end are excellent, even if it's foggy/cloudy. The trailhead is well marked, so if you're driving and your GPS cuts out (like mine), just keep following the road. You can't miss the trailhead.

Great view at the top. Nice shade along the trails. Overall not too much litter for as many people that visit this trail.

Easy to find trailhead and it’s nicely marked. Beautiful views at the top. We stayed for a while taking pics and enjoying the views. It was a clear day so we saw all the surrounding mountains. Beautiful!

This trail is hard but worth the effort for the amazing views at the top. Very rocky and steep.

Hiked it today which was a beautiful sunny fall day, there were more people on the trail than I expected, but it was fine.

We did do the backside loop around Pyramid on the way down, there was some bushwhacking at the top end of it but it cleared out and was fine the rest of the way. I’m glad we went that way because we had a southern view and also we cut out a big chunk of steep downhill on the rocks. (Yes the trail is not maintained, but it’s doable)
