trail running

For those of you trail running there's not alot of open unimpeded open country on this well marked trail. There is a 2km open stretch at about 3.5km. Otherwise expect lots of root jumping and rock hopping. Its just over 14km if you run to the link track (top of the stairs at the Berowa end) and back.

Great trail. Diversity with hilltop, river bank and bush views with a couple rainforest parts tucked in. It took us a pretty solid day to do the 24ish km. We pretty much followed this hike exactly and diverged from the Great North path to get to the train station. That section is a bit less travelled and I suspect we didn't find the best way.
Otherwise a couple notes : the first half has some water bubblers, cafes etc. the second half was all bush with no amenities. Right towards the end you walk a sewage pipe, it's underground but with air vents along the way which was a bit less pleasant. The Whitefire Grill was a good (but fancier than expected) lunch stop. Good call as it was the last food we saw.

This took us 3 1/2 hours to complete. It was a great track with some steep incline and steep declines, as long as you are fit and healthy it should be fine. There are some beautiful viewing vantage points. The second half of the Trail has some longer flat walks. Don’t forget to stop and take in the views when you see them. If you’re doing the hike on the weekend and finish at Brooklyn make sure you look up the train or bus schedule when we did it the trains were not running on weekends however the buses were coming every 30 minutes to take you back to Cowan . All in all a beautiful hike with good views and variety.

The first half is incredible with amazing views and steep challenging ascents, but the second half... although had some nice views, got very boring as it was just an off-road for vehicles. Definitely worth it though!

Walked a few k’s along this track in early August 2018 - within a few hundred meters from leaving lane cove river park at lady game drive you could be anywhere yet so close to sydney - it’s a great walk - although the wattle have been fooled into flowering early this year with all the dry warm weather .

Started at Cowan. Nice walk to start with then it gets steep and the uphills begin. Amazing challenge. The last hour of it dragged on for a bit till u get to the downhill part that wakes u up. Easy walk to the station afterwards.
Sings are everywhere so u can’t get lost. Overall i loved this walk. Took us just under 4 hours . We stopped for pics .

harder then what I expected but some great photo stops.

Started at Berowra Waters and climbed back to Cowan. Very interesting track with a number of scenic outlooks. Lots of hard climbs and some challenging downhill sections. Well worth the effort.

Great little spot. Perfect after rain as creeks fill up! A little more challenging than we thought. We crossed to crosslands which probably added another couple of k’s to our hike.

Plenty of bird life. Lovely creek near Mt Ku-ring-gai.

A little road traversing but gets you where you want to go.

Brilliant in some places

This is my go to walk/hike on weekends if I don’t have any other walk to do as it’s close by :)

Not too far from city. You can go there by public transportation.

i started from Mount Kuring Gai track to Berowra station. it has beaten path so hassle for the route. please make sure that carry water otherwise you will be in trouble in the middle of the track. overall experience is awesome.

Great walk. Nice scenery. Lots of ascents and descents though.

Last bit is less spectacular but a good hike otherwise

Good walk. Mostly shady. Nice water features at some points. Last bit to Hornsby station is a stair master workout so be ready.

Great walk to start early morning. We started from Cowan and finished at Hawkesbury River with few great cafes just over 04 hours 20 minutes .

Awesome walk with some beautiful swimming holes along the way. Easy to get to and from on the train and a hard enough walk to test the legs.

Great run. Good trails in second half. Even scored a leach for my troubles

Great trail for a long point to point walk. Well traveled and marked. Bring your own supplies. Easily accessible via train (make sure to look at the schedule ahead of time)

Competed this walk in sections. It’s a nice walk.

Jerusalem bay is a spectacular sight on a sunny day. Leave time to have a swim on the warmer days. The walk has some great views. Climbing out of Jerusalem bay isn't for the faint hearted but we'll worth it.

Pretty tough and a part of track has been closed, almost can through it but there is a small bridge has been broken, that is about 1.5m, I jumped

Nice walk, however the directions that open up in Google maps, didn't lead us to the starting point of the track.

Nice walk but I'd recommend to start from Berowra station and end in Mt Ku-ring-gai instead.
