Beautifully scenic and easy. Many deep blue birds on the way. Get a close up look at the independence monument from its base. Highly recommended.

I decided to make this trail my New Year's Day hike and it was great. Mid morning after a fresh snow with light flurries and no wind. It was a great way to start the new year!

The trail itself slowly winds up and is a fairly easy to moderate hike. The view is spectacular and the snow made everything seem blanketed and cozy. Fresh air and the crunch of the snow under my feet...loved it!

Sweet hike for New Year’s Day!

Very beautiful hike, however it had recently snowed and once we got into the canyon it was icy AF. Yak trax and poles highly recommended in snowy/muddy conditons.

don't miss the orange marker about a mile up and the wombat arch over the cliff to the right.

Beautiful views. As a senior I thought the trail was moderately hard. Walking sticks are a must.

I would rate this easy, maybe at most slightly moderate when it comes to hiking and I’m an absolute beginner. The beginning doesn’t offer much scenery, but the views get better as you go on. We got off the beaten path a little, but my group and I had a lot of fun on this trail!

This trail is easy in the sense that the trail itself is wide and very clear, but lord help your legs if you are out of shape. Going up, the entire trail is completely at an incline with virtually no flat spots; I’m not complaining though because I enjoyed the pleasant challenge. Coming back down is a breeze. Great trail for exercise.

A "must do" sunset hike when visiting Palisade. The fall colors were great!

Beautiful views and great hike!

Although it’s a climb, the wide path and relatively even surface make this a pleasant walk.

Love this one for a quick early morning or evening hike. Trail/road is nice enough to run on.

A nice add-on either to or from Rifle Falls. And, yes, there are actually lower and upper falls at the end of this hike. Interestingly, these falls are from the canal that starts at Rifle Falls.

Trail not marked well, lots of bike traffic. Great views. Steep climb at first.

A beautiful little walking trail around a lake. There was no one around when I got there around 6:30pm but by the time I left there were two other other cars in the parking lot and I saw one guy fishing and another getting ready to bike. Just know that the trail is in a park that you have to pay $7 for access to. Not really worth it to me if you're just going to walk around for fifteen minutes.

The path is beautiful and well maintained but the scenery definitely is not. Love that this trail begins and ends at a brewery though. Cheers!

Either the map took me to the wrong place; but this was more like a path to a fishing spot. Beautiful, just not what I had in mind for a trail:)

Definitely a pretty hike, if you're into high desert hiking. It's a good uphill climb at first, but levels out and is easy going from there. The petroglyphs are well marked and easy to spot. Lots of bike traffic, so keep an eye out.

my favorite home in the valley, has everything- some elevation gain, great vistas, petroglyphs all in an easily manageable 4miles. Afterwards you can cool off in the river.

Thanks everyone for their reviews on this place. I’d call it an easy to moderate trail depending on if you add on extra legs. Lots of trails to explore. No tree cover and it can get hot. Loved the trail and views. A very nice mountain bike park that allows hikers and horses. I did see a sign stating no E-Bikes. Overall nice place to explore and nice views.

Easy walk down, slightly harder up. We went at 2pm and there is, like others have noted zero protection from the sun.

My family and I loved it !

Avery nice hike. multiple great views of the fertile wine region along the Colorado River! not too difficult of a hike with some small inclines. well marked trail. worth doing because of the views from the Mesa. trail head is not well marked. it starts at mile marker 23. see pics.

Easy hike with beautiful views, have been hiking this trail for over 12 years, it never gets old. Try hiking it at sunrise, sunset and even at night with a full moon shining as your only light, you won't regret it. I've done this trail well over 200 times as I live a fairly close, that being said if you hike this in the summer you better get there no later than 6am or you will be roasting in the heat on the way back down, happy hiking !

a really nice hike with some good cardio. we started out at 0745 to beat the heat and completed in 3 hrs including stopping for pics. we took the Wedding Canyon trail to the right off the main trail which kept us mostly in the shade until we got to Independence Monument. taking this route gives you a great view of Independence Monument. then, come down the Monument Canyon Trail and back to the trailhead.

the trail is well worn and visible all the way. we even saw a few longhorn sheep climbing g the rocks.

Great trail. Wagon worthy. had lunch and caught a tan

This was a great little trail right at the entrance of the park. It’s very easy to find and follow and offers great views along the way. There is very little coverage from the sun as it used to act as a model t road, so be sure to have sun protection and water.

Nice easy trail. Wide path, great for visiting with fellow hikers and great views.

Hot one today. 98 degrees at 3 pm!!! Still a great trail with tons of variety.
