Very easy and level trail for all ages and levels. You start the trail at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. You get some gorgeous views and photos. My husband and I did this in 5 hours, but we stopped frequently for pictures, restroom breaks and lunch. Wear sunscreen and bring a few bottles of water as the sun is strong and it gets very hot. Highly recommend!

Overall straight forward hike. Easy enough path to follow with elevation increases fairly often in a short distance. Great views 90% of the hike. A great intro to the Canyon.

We walked the whole thing, which clocked in at more like 15 miles at the end of the day with all the lookout points and whatnot. It’s not hiking; it’s walking at a well-marked and often paved path. Stunning views. Can do all of it or any portions you want with the free shuttle situation.

Not really much of a hike here... but it’s the Grand Canyon so it gets 5 stars by default. Lots of good places to pull yourself to an overlook and enjoy the scenery.

I will be back to go down into the canyon! My sister and I completed a road trip from PA to CA and we stopped here on the way and completed the rim trail! It was amazing! I remember walking up to the edge of the canyon and my hands were shaking it was so mind blowing. I remember thinking ti myself how could something like this exist? It’s a bigger than you moment and super humbling. Absolutely subliminal in every way. Everyone needs to see the Grand Canyon as God intended.

Easy hike around the south rim. We did ten miles on the rim hike. Some paved trail and some unpaved. Beautiful views and outlooks around the rim. If you do it all it can be tiring.
Jump on and off a shuttle if you want.

Great short hike. Perfect if you have a dog who doesn’t always hike. The views at the end are super! Pack a lunch or snack and enjoy the views. There are several picnic tables and places to lounge at the end of the trail.

Amazing! This place is spectacular! We hiked and climbed and explored!!

stunning views, but it's not really a trail. it's a paved walk around the edge of the canyon hence why I have only rated it three stars.

Ideal for families and anyone with disabilities because a good portion of this trail is paved. If you're a hiker, it's not a hike, it's a walk. ...but a walk with epic views.

best kept secret.
super impressed with the view. 240 degrees.
take a lunch and a book.
spend a lazy afternoon in quiet!

This is an easy and enjoyable hike for an amazing and uncrowded view of the Canyon. We did it at sunset and took a picnic with us. It’s my favorite hike at the Grand Canyon. Be sure to hike all the way out to the rocky overlook, but I wouldn’t take small children out there.

Short, easy, and really cool at the end! Has a restroom also. No hills.

Absolutely breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon from the south rim. We parked and walked on the paved trail. There was a little area where you could climb down for a closer view but that isn’t necessary to get the full experience.

What a great hike! Very desolate with little to no people on the walk to the point. There was actually a wedding the first day we went!! Very jealous we didn’t think of having our ceremony there as you can truly get an incredible panoramic view of the canyon. Highly recommend for everyone!! Strollers/wheelchairs could easily be pushed there

Beautiful views! Short, easy hike with massive payoffs! Toilet available at the end, along with picnic tables and grill for picnicking while watching the sunrise or sunset over the south rim of the canyon.

gorgeous views. We saw too many deer to even count. Wow. Can't wait to go back.

cool ruins. Not a great hike.

Having the option to hike from point to point or shuttle between some was really nice. Walking the trail gave us very little interference with crowds so we could fully appreciate the beauty of the nature around us. The shuttles helped us to see more than we would have been able to without it. Great views 24/7 no matter where you’re at on the trail.

We did this trail. we had the place to ourselves from almost 2 hours, then as sunset got close about 4 others families joined us. I don't think you can find a better spot to watch the sun go down. it's absolutely breathtaking and definitely worth the easy, flat 1 mile walk out there

Great orientation trail to start the arrival to the canyon.

We did this for an easier walk the day after a more strenuous trial. The views are absolutely breathtaking. You walk a flat road trail with lots of trees up to the canyon, there are spots with tables and a bathroom, if you can bring lunch it would be a great place to eat. You’ll see an area you can continue to walk up, there is a big rock in the middle of you walk out there are the most incredible 365 degree views of the canyon we encountered only 2 or 3 people. A must do if you have some extra time and and to avoid lots of people. I wouldn’t bring kids with you out to the point as it is extremely dangerous but really cool and worth if it you trust yourself

Relaxing hike, accessible for all. You can decide how much you wish to do and easily turn around when you’re done. Beautiful views of the canyon, although very crowded. To avoid the crowds, just walk for about 15 minutes. It’ll thin out with distance.

Easy hike along the canyon's rim with markers letting you know the history of the canyon. Went in December so it was cold and not many people, more elk than people actually. Worth doing after watching the sunrise from Mather Point.

This trail is very easy and mostly flat. Bring at least 1L of water if you are walking this during the summer. There are refill points.
