It's very pretty and very well taken care of. Nice and challenging enough and usually not to crazy busy on bikers and other hikers.

Hiked on a weekday and saw just one hiker and a couple bikers...good challenge and beautiful

Gorgeous in all seasons. Snow shoeing and hot chocolate at the nature center in the winter is a treat. Bird watching, photography, paddling are all perfect for this spot. Definitely a must.

We enjoyed a glorious day on the trail today, our first time here. A little muddy due to the recent snow thaw, but we loved every minute of our visit.

An easy stroll on a sunny warm January day 01-04-2019. 2.1 miles including the east loop and west in and out with parking in the middle. Clean restrooms. Frozen swamp, river, 2 bald eagles sunning on a high branch on the east loop. Follow the ribbons on the east loop in winter or lose the trail. Beautiful spot. I would probably avoid this trail in summer (mosquitoes).

Great hike overlooking the Flat River, and one can literally go for a couple thousand miles if you wanted, or just an afternoon stroll. We went for a Christmas day hike with family while it was snowing...which was a real treat as we were in from Hawaii, and really miss the snow.

This trail is a part of the North Country Trail (NCT) stretching approximately 4,600 miles from Crown Point in eastern New York to Lake Sakakawea State Park in central North Dakota.

The trails headquarters is right in Lowell at the North Country Trail Association (Lowell is the half-way mark for the trail), and while the trail itself is new it is constantly being updated, so getting wider and easier to follow.

The markings are all easy to follow as the NCT is primarily marked with blue paint blazes on trees / posts and by Carsonite posts that display the official trail emblem and a regulatory strip that defines allowable uses.

Nice walk, especially once you’re south of the meijer and past 91 a bit. Saw a Great Blue Heron and muskrat off the boardwalk west of 91.

Nice trail, little traffic, awesome signage. Every intersection had a trail marker and “you are here” sign. Was surprised to find a “wilderness” in this park Great hike.

Super easy. The people at the visitor center are very helpful and have lots of maps. We did 3 miles. You could add the old golf course and turn it into 5.

I agree with the prior review. I think about 70% of the trail is normal sidewalk through EGR. The other 30% is beautiful lakeside with nature. I personally like to use nature trails and it definitely feels weird to just walk through rich neighborhoods, then on to the east beltline, then back to suburban houses and businesses.

Great trail with lots of character. Watch for bikers!

A 5 star hiking path it is not. There is as much path or sidewalk through winding subdivisions and along loud busy highways as along or in sight of the lake. There are no markings to know where the path is except for one posted map that find. There is always the sound of cars and trucks on the roads present.

Goats. ❤️
That was a pleasant surprise.

trails were well marked, beautiful Fall hike. the creek running they the trails was beautiful, the Fall leaf aroma was awesome

The app map is missing the black "sawtooth" trail. This trail is popular with trail bikers.

A short, very wet, but very calm walk. My walk today was a little cold for bugs, but with all of the standing water, I'd reckon the bugs are awful. The clearing areas are amazing for bird watching, and there are some great overlooks and educational areas.

A pleasant walk, very flat with mostly meadow views. The path is primarily paved, with some areas of mowed grass. There are also some nice views of the river.

lots of deer. Easy and peaceful. We did have a problem with someone on a motor bike when signs are specifically posted.

Great 4.5 mile route around a beautiful part of Grand Rapids. It is around a lake but not right on lake. Follow maps people have made, as you have to run through some residential neighborhoods. Neat little downtown area right by high school.

too many mosquitoes! make sure to spray yourself well before you get here

Nice park for an easy hike/walk. Lots of different trail options for various length hikes.

nice variety with field, woods, river, ravine, steps, hanging bridge. Somewhat limited size.

Nice trail for running. It’s a great workout, especially the Hall Street hill.

Love this trail. Nice balance of nature and neighborhoods. Not too crowded although if you happen upon it while the high school cross country team is practicing, all bets are off. Will be back for sure

Easy, pretty views. Dog loved it. Not at all strenuous but an enjoyable walk.

Pretty good trail. It does wind back and forth a lot so it covers the same terrain over many times. The day I went it was hot and sticky so there were not very many people using it. It looks like it is very heavily used by bikes much of the time.

great for teaching kids how to ride a bike. flat and paved.

This is a great trail with lots of peaceful clearings, winding loops, and quiet river scenes. There are lots of mosquitoes after wet weather, so use bug spray.

Nice trail. Beautiful scenery. Saw deer by the river. An important factor for me were the porta-jons along the trail.
