Fairly easy hike that is mostly shaded which makes it pleasant. The waterfall is beautiful and not too many hikers around 4:00. It’s peaceful and serene.

Total disappointment. While people have posted some beautiful pics of the gorge, if you follow the loop trail indicated by alltrails, you will see nothing remotely worthwhile. I am moving out if state next week and choose this hike as my last one based on all the great reviews. What a waste. Wish I had known what trail to take or continue on to actually reach a scenic view.

a nice walk, very easy. family friendly.

might as well just walk along side the highway it's so close to it...

This hike is ALL uphill! A good workout, but not the relaxing hike I was looking for. Lots of lizards and some small snakes, bugs, and tons of poison oak if you’re not careful (it’s all off the trail, but keep an eye on dogs). The view was pretty, but no mountains. Hardly any shade too, glad I went on an overcast day! It was fine, but I didn’t expect it to be so steep.
There was a family with 3 small kids that started before us and we didn’t pass them on the way down so hopefully that gives you a good idea.
Trail head is just as others stated, there’s a pull off on the left to park, go past the gate and shortly after on your right is the entrance. Private property at the very end so you turn around and go downhill.

First, I would not rate this as moderate. It is most definitely easy. It’s just about 2 miles in. It’s a steady incline so you don’t really feel it. The devastation from
the Eagle Creek fire is heartbreaking, but at least there is some green coming back by way of ground cover. There are some loose rocky spots but nothing difficult. The fall is beautiful just Ike all the PNW falls.

Definitely a workout on the legs and knees, but worth it. Always come prepared! It can be quite chilly and windy at the top. We took a little side trail loop on the way down - it was a nice change in scenery and much warmer.

The upper Cape Horn hike is great, not too difficult but also a good workout. Lower Cape Horn is ok, the rocky part is a tad tedious and the final portion which is about 1.5 miles of paved road is a slog.

I really like all but 1 mile of this hike. The last mile for us was on a road and it was unclear if you walked on the road or if there was a trail we missed. Other than that last mile the hike is really pretty, seems like most folks do an out and back so after the viewpoint at 2ish miles there was hardly anyone out there.

great low key hike!

Tougher than moderate and longer too. Views are incredible.

One of our favorite hikes in the gorge. Well maintained, easy to moderate shaded ~3.5 Mile out and back with ~800’ vertical (according to my gps). Good for families and dogs. The falls are amazing with a great viewing area. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy!

Would be 5 stars but rocks on majority of hike so be careful for your ankles! Beautiful quick and fun hike. Good for kids. Lots of visible damage still but still worth it.

About 8 miles. Took us almost 3 hours. I’d say moderate is a good description if you are in shape. We started with the upper trail and did the loop. Glad it wasn’t any hotter or we would have really suffered. Not crowded. People were nice. I would not take small children or dogs. Lots of loose rocks and narrow passages.

PCT up to Dry Creek Falls was pretty easy but there was lots of devastating fire damage from the Eagle Creek Fire. Sad to see the tree corpses, but many hardy trees survived and I’m glad the trail has reopened. Dry Creek Falls a great surpise. Clear, cold and beautiful!! Walked back via Dry Creek Road, but would not do it. again. Gravel road almost all the way.

beautiful waterfalls!

Nice trail! Beautiful look out!

Falls themselves are beautiful and the water feels very crisp this time of year.

the hike itself isn't bad at all and there is a decent amount of traffic throughout the hike.

Flowers and the view here are great, also a nice easy trail to bring older family on.

Hot hike, flowers are great and geology is amazing out here.

Love the view on this one.

Beautiful hike. We did it on Tuesday after 5 pm. We had the trail to ourselves. There were some people by the lower waterfall.

Absolutely stunning! Everyone should see this spot!

Don’t be fooled by the name. I did not see one dog on Dog Mountain. It is dog friendly though, so I assume it’s a BYO situation.

The assent is hard. With a very steep incline. When the path forks go to the right of you want to really feel the burn. Better views on the left fork, but you can loop back in the opposite direction on the way down.

The peak is confused. We did go off the AT main trail to find a higher point. Views of the Gorge are pretty good. Hard trek. Recommend swimming down at Little White Salmon to freshen up on a hot day.

beautiful trail. Mt biked it from the bridge up and back down and out.

It is an easy hike, which doesn’t take long with a beautiful waterfall you can sit in front of and enjoy. Most the trail is shaded, and it’s nice and cool by the waterfall!

Tough hike with absolutely beautiful views!

Note: The Discover Pass does not work as I found out with my $5 ticket. It is $5/day or an interagency pass will work.
