HikingSnow

Snow started about 1/2 mile from the top. The “trail” down to the Indian Point was pretty sketchy. Micro spikes were helpful but not necessary. Gate was closed but several cars were parked on the road. Didn’t do the loop just an out and back on the ridge side.

there are spots of snow down low but up high there is quite a lot. when I hit the fork to hike up to the top the clouds were pretty thick and finding the trail was a little difficult but doable. I did turn back as I started postholing a lot and didn't feel great about continuing the short distance to the top. all in all it was an amazing trail and day out.

Very pretty but there’s still feet of snow at the top, it was honestly kind of miserable for the last couple miles to and from the summit. I’d hold off hiking it till it melts a little more, beautiful though! regardless!

HikingIcySnow

My review is based on the snow conditions today. I imagine on a day with no snow, I’d give it 4 stars. Beautiful sunny day and no wind. Yay! We went clockwise and glad we did, the snow was melting and slushy. Like walking through a snow cone. I was miserable every step. Thank goodness the view at the top was spectacular

Got too windy and cold near the top so we turned around. Mostly covered so I’m sure it would be nice in the spring / summer. We didn’t see anyone else the entire hike. Trail was maintained but not well travelled. Lots of trees down, etc. Be on the lookout for poison Ivey and other bugs, etc. in the summer!

Had to turn around because my dog wasn’t comfortable crossing the stream with me. Good leg burner!

The parking lot is closed, so you have to park on the road. We arrived just before 8am -- one car already there, but we were the first ones on the trail. Very windy, but only light snow near the top. This trail will likely be impassible soon, with all of the heavy snow arriving this week. No views at the top due to clouds, but still worth the trek. We were back at the car around noon, after clocking 8.8 miles on the GPS.

Nice trail, muddy and no view at top because of weather

Great!

Steady climb! Would be great on a nice day, but would not recommend for a rainy day hike.

Right place, terrible timing! I went there last Saturday, the rain was heavy, the wind was strong, and the snow was deep on the ridge (yes, on my knee)! Due to heavy rain and fog, I couldn’t enjoy any of its beautiful views. I would definitely try it again when it’s sunny out there.

Lots of elevation gain for the first half but very doable. There was a lot more snow than I expected up top today so I didn’t do the ridge as I would have had to make fresh prints, so I just did the loop portion but I expect on a clear nice day it would be perfect. Still a lovely hike with plenty of parking, a bathroom and a pay station if needed. Well marked trail.

Great gradual incline with a wide path makes it great for trail running.

Perfect sunny day hike with views of 3 mountains. The ridge is rad. The views did not disappoint. Wide trail at start and finish and a little rocky at the top, but not bad.

Really beautiful, amazing views. Steep in parts, but doable. A little snow at top, but nothing that made the trail treacherous
