Loved it, only a short walk before the rain but I will be back

Really beautiful stream and trail was marked really well! First trail I walked downloading the all trails app and wasn’t disappointed at all!

Easy trails but lots of horse feces. Not very scenic

It’s been a year since my last trip here. I brought my puppy for a nice hike and wasn’t disappointed. There is plenty of shade and places to sit for water breaks; it is kept almost completely trash free; and it’s secluded enough that, if you don’t want to run into people, you don’t have to. I can see how the parking could run out, but there is another parking area near the pier that has plenty of space.

Very short trails but nice for a quick jaunt with the pups. Mix of wooded areas and meadows. Bubbling streams and a small river make pleasant sounds while hiking. And the "hidden pond" was alive with croaking frogs (toads?). And the berry bushes were a pleasant surprise! But beware a LOT of poison ivy so use common sense and normal safety precautions.

Loved this trail. There are also lots of conjoining trails that allow you to make this longer if you want to. It’s fun to go down to the river in hot weather too.

Easy, short hike can be made longer by taking the trail (fire road) til it dead-ends @ Coot's Peninsula. Summer time gave OK (Coot's Peninsula is more rewarding) views of the reservoir and lots of birds to see. For those with a knack for geology: This is the site of an Iron/Copper mine from around the time of the American Revolution.
..
Park at the trail head just across the bridge on 26. All in all would do again.

While it was a nice little hike, we were all very disappointed about the state of the trail. I guess there are people that go horseback riding on these trails so they were pretty messed up in some sections from the horses going through the trail when it was wet and there were some sections that were very soft from the horses ruining them and my husband almost lost a shoe. Would expect things to get soft if it had rained recently but it has been weeks since it rained. Overall an easy well marked trail that my kids didn't have any problem with and there were some nice views of the Patapsco River.

Superb...:first time hiking alone and using this app!! Trail so peaceful with highlight walking along the creek.Apparently this is the hottest day and it felt wonderful...nice and shady.

Super nice open trail with clear signs , great creek spots and wildflowers!

Had a nice, uncrowded afternoon hike with my husband on a weekday. Enjoyed taking a few detours from Switchback to enjoy more of the river. Recent rains and flooding made for some squishy parts, but not enough to be frustrating. The rapids were REALLY rapid, I was glad I didn't have any kids to keep an eye on with the river being so swollen and wild. Fun wildlife, lots of songbirds, a snake sunning on some rocks, and a great blue heron that stayed opposite us on the river bank for over an hour as we sat to enjoy the waterfall. All in all a nice hike. Pro tip: grab a paper map and take note of your orientation compared to the river, railroad, or road and you'll have a good idea of your exact placement on the trails if you're scouting a particular route.

I love this trail. goes down to Martin Luther king pool. and up through a cow path to the ICC.

Nice day hike

I only come here once in a blue moon. Although I hike a 4 mile loop here it's basically all they got. I live next to the Avalon, Orange Grove, Hilton, Hilltop area and there is over 34 different trails just in that section. Over 134 miles !! I hike many 3 and 4 mile loops weekly and there is a lot more to see. The only problem in my area is it gets over crowded on weekends. I also don't like the Gun Range being near by. To Noisy. I carried a rain jacket in my pack but it never rained.

My dogs and I wanted to get out and the nice weather today and this park is pretty close to my house. It’s probably really beautiful in the summer time, so I suggest going then. Parking was great, but again, I can see it running out quickly on a really nice day. The only real negative thing I can say about this outing is that there was no where for me to throw away my dogs wastes. The paths are really easy to follow.

A nice easy trail, with plenty of parking even for an early afternoon start.

The trail name is misleading when accompanied by the current trail outlined. There is a fork you can take to go on switchbacks. If you skip the fork, then you will be able to see some gorgeous rapids.

I enjoyed this trail. With me, I had my two daughters who are 6 and 4. We did the Turkey Trail along with the Turkey Spur. They found it quite doable and enjoyed the hike. We will be back to do the full loop soon

Super easy to get to and dog friendly. Can get muddy during the winter/early spring thaw/freeze cycle. Also bit frustrating to run into several folks allowing their dogs to romp around off leash, especially when a couple of these dogs were not friendly and barked a lot. Would try again in the summer without a dog.

Great hike, especially with the dog

I love this trail. I recommend trying it in both directions; each one seems like a very different hike, which is somewhat unusual.

There’s lots of great trees, and the river is beautiful. It’s very easy, and is moderately trafficked.

October = moderate trail...not easy by any means.
