The trail is nice, but be prepared for some slushy, muddy parts. It is very easy and absolutely gorgeous!

It was a nice trail around the lake. Super easy. Views were ok during the fall.

Love these paths. They branch off at multiple spots so lots of areas to explore. You can get views of the creek, large trees & views of the mountains from these paths.

Great trail! Super pretty with a little snow on it right now.

Nice, easy trail that has amazing views of rock formations. It would be a great trail for snow shoeing this winter.

Beautiful views and well maintained dirt path. We hiked today but this would also be a great mountain bike ride. Bonus, bathrooms available at the trailhead and they were super clean. 320 ft climb made this an enjoyable workout.

This trail was completed while I did Castle Trail.

We parked near the entrance to the amphitheater and came down the stairs on the right hand side and out to the trailhead. The sandstone rocks are incredible and are definitely the best part of the trek. The hike itself is fairly easy and the trail is pretty wide most of the way. If you’re visiting the amphitheater, go ahead and do this one.

Nice peaceful place for an easy stroll. Beautiful rocks, shame there is no climbing - they’re still nice to look at. Lots of people there taking professional photos for the gorgeous backdrop.

wow! just stunning! this trail itself doesn't run through the amphitheatre but if you veer off this trail, the amphitheatre is a short walk away. I am sort of a geological nerd so these rock formations had my jaw on the floor. such a wild and beautiful place! even in October, make sure you have plenty of water.

Amazing family hike! We arrived at 9:45 on a Sunday and found a spot right at the front, mostly because there was a steady stream of people leaving. We have been looking for a hike our almost 4 year old could do to build stamina and not ask to be carried constantly. She walked almost 1.5 miles on her own, mostly due to the creek running alongside for us to stop and play in every few hundred feet and the CONSTANT stream of other kids around us. We saw lots of strollers (BOB or similar would be best) and families. We had a blast with the almost totally flat trail and other families around us. Great family outing and great for building stamina for little hikers! ❤️ we will be back soon!

Not bad, good for a short hike and time in nature. Good for families and dogs. Pretty busy on a Saturday, by the time my group left at 11am the parking lot was packed and many people heading out to the trails. I liked this and would be a good hike for my small dog.

Nice early morning hike before the sun got too hike. Lots of parking and easy trails.

Nice and easy trail!

Really unique rock formations. Coyote song is an easy trail, some inclines but nothing crazy. If you take the Lyons Back trail towards columbine trail it gets pretty steep. You can also go off path a lil and climb up to the ridge. Views were awesome, would not recommend the ridge climb to kids or anyone unsure of physical ability. Def go again, quick drive from Denver.

Fine little walk around the rock formations. Can get pretty crowded.

Decent trail for city dwellers

This is the most popular hike in Red Rocks and it is obvious why. The hike is not strenuous at all and the views of the rock formations and your proximity to them is great. Well worth the trip and great for families.

Very pretty trail! The beginning of the trail was a little rocky which made it hard for my Newfoundland dog who is very large;however, the trail opened up and had great views.

We went on a Saturday morning with our dog, it was busy around 745am or so. The pathways are narrow in some areas. Hiking boots aren’t necessary however there are many areas with loose dirt and uneven footing that are a bit slippery with standard tennis shoes. There are signs for rattle snakes and mountain lions but we didn’t see any. Cool rock formations with pathway information/history of formations.

Nice and relatively easy, with great views and dog accessible.

Great hike with beautiful sights! My mom didn’t think she’d be able to do a 4 mile hike, but felt amazing when she finished it. A good spot for a relatively easy hike in the woods!

Very pretty bike especially if you are interested in seeing wildlife and cool rock formations.

Yeah it's a little crowded, but Lair o' the Bear in general is. You don't go there for secluded walks, but more of a meander-with-kids-or-dogs type easy hike. Great for kids as they get the fun of climbing the 'bluff' and can play around in the creek after. We've been to LofB half a dozen times, and this is the first time we've ever formally followed a trail instead of just playing around. Really nice, would do this one again.

There wasn't a clear indication or sign where the trail ends, so ended up doing 4.5 miles instead of 2 miles - which was fine! The trail is well marked with signage (until the end) and populated with hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners. There have been recent black bear sightings according to one sign. The mountain bikers are way friendlier on this trail than the Cherry Creek Trail, they are cautious if they are coming up from behind or turning the corner fast - I was with my dog and didn't have to worry about being hit by a biker. They also don't yell at you to move or get off the trail. The trail gets more rocky as you ascend and would recommend something sturdier than sneakers. Great place for families and for walking dogs. Lots of dogs in the creek and on the trail, highly recommend!

Beautiful trail. It was such a hot day but the views were worth it.

This is a good, easy trail most people could do. There are some inclines and a distance across the rock that could be an issue for some. Great views of the formations.

Nice trail for all ages

Beautiful scenery! Hiked while on vacation. Saw some wildlife that was not bothered a bit by out presence. Highly recommend.
