Nice little trail. Got off trail a couple of times, but it is marked pretty well so just watch for those signs. Accidentally did counter clockwise, and as people have said it is definitely more of a challenge. Other than that it wasn’t too bad for ice, and there isn’t too much snow. The view point was meh, but there was a better viewpoint not too far from the marked one. It only took a couple hours to complete but was definitely a nice easy hike.

As a side note, someone’s car did get broken into in the parking lot while we were there. So just make sure that there are no valuables left in the vehicle at this location, or that they are hidden well.

Great for a quick little trip out of the city. Easy for kids

Had a great time exploring this hike! Fun to walk the frozen stream if you’ve got spikes on. Can’t wait to see it in the summer.

Easy hike for a family! It was a touch icy in spots throughout . Kids had fun sliding on the icy hill parts while we skirted in the brush to stay upright. But lots of dry/bare spots too!

Quiet and pretty trail, nobody else here when I visited. Good for a quick stroll.

Love this place

Good hike! My day was chilly with hoarfrost so no view for us. Guess I’ll hafts go back

Live that we have this place in Calgary

Nice hiking in the city lots of different routes to take. ALWAYS follow the trail as the signs state!

Very nice, relaxing hike with a few steeper inclines but nothing too bad. We went counterclockwise and the end was a steep downhill incline, so for a bit more of a challenge one could go clockwise.

A great short hike. I definitely encourage hiking crampons rather than city/daily ice spikes.

Don’t expect those breathtaking summit views, but for its category, it is definitely a 5 star little hike. We did this trip as a family with little kids and grandma. Everyone enjoyed it a lot, really nice scenery with all those little waterfalls. Located so close to Cochrane, it’s a perfect quick getaway from our busy life especially for those who live in town. We will be back for sure to see the different seasons there.

Decent hike once you get past the factories.

I did this hike July 8, 2018. It’s not difficult, other then waking on small to big rocks the whole time, you just want to be careful so you don’t twist your ankle. It was a busy trail the day we went, but not crowded. Many people were rock climbing too. Once you pass the waterfall it gets quieter, most people turn around and head back there. We continued on and passed inukshuks people had made. The trail opens up into a big valley. We kept on hiking until we got tired, but we wanted to see if we could reach an end to the river valley, but there was none in sight.

Easy, not views but mild for all skill levels, we did it counterclockwise to add a little challenge, so instead of tons of downhill we climbed them! kid friendly trail!

Went out today and got up to the alpine meadow but wasn’t able to complete either side of the loop due to the deep snow. There were tracks so I imagine if you had the gear and gators then it wouldn’t have been a problem. But I was alone without gators and only crampons so I decided to duck out. I look forward to going back in the spring/summer.

Nice hiking.

We love this hike. We took family friends out for the afternoon and they thoroughly enjoyed it. We saw some deer running through the lower end as we hit the top of the hike. Beautiful scenery.

Amazing views of mountains! We went in Mid Oct before the larch trees lost their needles. Beautiful fall colours! Trail was slippery with fair bit of snow at the top. Traction aids and hiking poles were definitely a benefit for this hike especially for the descent. This hike is a gradual climb up with some steep areas in the trees, flattens out near the top, then gradual climb to reach the top. It’s a nice moderate hike. Would recommend it and will definitely hike it again.

Trail was ok. Very rocky. Starts out near the lefarge plant.. kinda interferes with the nice scenery part. Waterfall is small. Nothing in the cave. Meh

Easy walk with a small waterfall to view. Not to many people around either. Path is clearly marked and bathrooms at parking lot

Was a great little hike. Nice easy walk along the creek. Only disappointment was I couldn't as make it up the hoodoo to the cave to see the drawings. Both me and the pup kept sliding down as I am not a scrambler and there wasn't anything to grab onto to get up there. But will try again next time :)

Great walk if you find yourself downtown Calgary and need a short break from the urban scene.
