Super scenic! Easy reverse hike (downhill first). Pretty sure it’s only 1 mile total.

Beautiful waterfalls! Do not expect to follow the trail without crossing the Platterkill River. The crossings are only passable when there is low water conditions.!!! We hiked after a rain and had to find downed trees across the River. Advanced hiking for sure. You can see a waterfall from the designated view point not far from the start of the trail. Follow blue trail.

Hiked on November 3rd. Absolutely beautiful trail. A couple tricky mini scrambles, that would've been less tricky if they we're as wet and slippery. Views are amazing, as expected. A bit of snow closer to the top.

A great hike that would’ve been a lot easier had it not been for the frequent mud jumping. The views from the tower were stunning and I even saw a guy hiking in sandals

Snowy, muddy and slippery today but still a great hike. Gradual climb with lots of bridges and stairs.

Trail is in great shape now. Leaves are in full color or maybe a little past. Today was my first hike through here since the big windstorm earlier this year. What a great job by the NPS to clear the trail!

I ended up walking from Balcares Redoubt to the Chatfield Farm on the woods trail. Very nice trail, well maintained, dry and mowed close.

Did goodnow today. Very nice hike. Fire tower was in good shape. Nice view :)

All I can, we. did blue trail and then red to 1st waterfall. Easy!!

Nice trail. Well groomed, nicely marked. Trail is mostly flat, no poles needed. Some nice views especially with the leaves turning. Would do again. Trail is mostly out in the open with fields all around. It was very windy today when I hiked. I saw 4 other people on the trail.

Really nice walk, especially with some fall colors showing. Gentle and well-marked. Make sure your phone is fully charged so you can do the cell phone tour. I could only do three of them before my battery died, but it seemed like it would add a lot to the trail. Unfortunately, the tour road was closed when I went, so this was all I could do.

Pretty straight forward, crowded however in summer with a lot of of bathers in the falls! Fun for kids.

It’s definitely closer to 7.5 miles. Lots of up and down and crossing the kill 6 times (2 over bridges) which was fine but can get deep. Don’t expect sprawling views, there aren’t any. There are supplemental red marks on the trees as the official markers are few and far between. Had a hard time finding directions in some areas. The falls were beautiful. I would definitely rate this one as moderate.

Great trail. The dog loved it

Took Anna’s parking advice; good call.
Up the Thunderbolt, steep in places but got to the top in just over an hour.
Tea in the lodge which was a bit disappointing. Place was stark and uninviting. Could have done with the fire lighting.
Down on the Bellows Pipe which wasn’t as steep and easier on the knees.

Beautiful and different terrain than normal

10/13/18 Trail was covered in the changing leafs but pretty easy to follow. The top of the tower was so beautiful. Saw a rainbow on the top! Must go for sure!

This was the 4th fire tower challenge for my 5 year old an I (brought the wife along on this one).

Day was wet, so that along with the leafs covered rocks and ankle breaker roots made for slow going. Took us 2h up and 1.5h down.

There is one section near the top where you enter an evergreen grove that is covered with hanging moss. The day we did it the mountain top was fogged in. When we entered this section my boy stopped us and said "it looks like we are on another planet". He was right.

The fire tower is super tall, unfortunately for us, we did it on peak color change, but had no view.

We will probably do this one again on our way to completing the fire tower challenge, just so we get to see the view.

A great hike not too strenuous. Unfortunately, Greylock was socked in so we didn’t get to enjoy the views.

Really enjoyed this hike trail was peaceful and in very good condition. Great fall foliage and weather were a bonus.

After the last few hikes I took, I was looking for something more scenic and less strenuous. This trail was perfect. Easy trail with some slippery rocks and a couple of steep staircases. It took about an hour and a half with stops for photos. The falls are beautiful and flowing due to the week of rain we had. The leaves are just starting to change. Beautiful views at the start of the trail and at the falls. I plan to go back in a week or so to check out the foliage progress. Only downside I found was the amount of people there. It's definitely a busy place. Some people there were loud and rather obnoxious. I'll try a different time of day next time!

It was a nice trek while camping in copake falls

A little overgrown, but very passable. Nice views at the top...fall color change underway. The change from deciduous to conifer on the way up is so sudden it's amazing.

Fast, easy hike with great views at the top of the trail. The waterfall is great on a hot day, and parts of the cliff that we had to duck under to pass were especially fun for the kids.

One of my favorite hikes ever. View at the top is so beautiful, trail is very nice the whole way up, not a very difficult hike but you really get up there feeling the Adirondack vibes.

It was incredible!!!

very nice trail, pretty easy, and great signs.

Great short hike from New York side. Impressive Falls.

Working on the highest peaks in NE. This was a fun hike - only a couple of steep spots, but they're all very easy. I went north up Money Brook - neat waterfall along the trail. I recommend diverting from this route and going up the Mt. Prospect Trail - the views were incredible from Mt. Prospect!! Then connect back into the AT. Mt. Greylock views were beautiful, but crowded at the top since there's an auto road to the top too
