THERE IS NO HIKING TRAIL!!!!!

anybody know how to get to 4x4 trail head?

It was so cool. There was a great place to swim!

Just wonderful.

I loved this trail! It was pretty easy hike and the waterfall at the end was spectacular! We had the trail to ourselves.

An absolute gem and worth the long drive to get there. If you are lucky there is a hidden wonder to be found....

Took my mom on this trail, first half mile was a climb but with lots of breaks she made it. The lake is amazingly clear and pristine. Great place to spend the day enjoying the area!
Trail is clearly marked and easy to follow.

We took on this hike as a family on a cloudy Sunday after it rained the night before. The trail is a really well worn trail although in a few places the vegetation is encroaching on the trail.

The fire a few years ago really took a toll on some of the area but it is starting to make a comeback. The lakes are just as beautiful as they've always been.

There is a shelter and a bathroom near the biggest lake. There used to be a second shelter but it burned in the fire.

If you'd love a great overview of the lakes then take the upper trail to the rock outcropping that overlooks both lakes. The view is amazing!

I went during early spring in the morning shortly after sunrise. Everything was mildly wet and as the sun rose higher and started to warm the air I could see a misty fog coming from all plant life. I had never seen anything like this and found it to be quite mystical because the trail itself leads you into what feels like a fantasy Forrest. Along the way are towering sequoia, ferns and trees covered in long strands of lichen. All along the path is little river in which you follow to the end of the trail to a double tiered waterfall. It’s a fairly simple hike with a nice incline at the end. During spring I recommend water proof shoes as the water from the river bellows over the path and can get quite muddy. During summer the canopy of trees keeps it cool and the temperature is quite tolerable. During the fall it takes a new shape of the color changing leaves and I have yet to experience it during the winter. It is a beautiful drive to get there and promise you won’t be disappointed!

amazingly beautiful place

Nice easy little hike!

Great trail for beginners. There was one spot towards the end that got a little steep and may be hard for some people. Beautiful scenery the whole way and not too much traffic. Will definitely be doing again!

Great first hike for our two pups. It was beautiful and had some great spots along the trail for them to enjoy the water. There was a lot of poison oak at the start of the trail but it did not last long.

Absolutely beautiful! Had an amazing time. The fire damage, yet heartbreaking, is interesting in itself. We caught some Brown Trout of the the larger lake and they were beautiful! I recommend visiting!

My wife and our 5 kids, ages 16-2 1/2 to Yakso Falls in August 2018. As others have said, it is a long drive, but I think it was worth it as there is a campground with a day use area and another set of falls right next door. The hike was easy for everyone including our 2 year old daughter. The falls were not gushing, but still had plenty of water coming down and the pool at the bottom was crystal clear. Two of us jumped in and swam in the pool, which was freezing cold! Overall, a very nice hike with a beautiful waterfall at the end. 4 Stars only because the drive up the gravel road is on the long side.

First day my daughter and I hiked in from the east trailhead. It was a nice hike and not as much burn damage as from the west trailhead. I then drove to & camped two nights at the west trailhead off of Little River Rd. Definitely would have been a 5 but there was so much burn damage from the fires last year it wasn’t as scenic as before the fire. Also there was smoke from fires in southern Oregon that made the views smoke-filled. The lakes are good for fishing & swimming in the summer. Beautiful spot. The forest will recover from the fires in a few years and all will be lush once again. No mosquitos mid August.

This is a nice drive but have never seen/heard of people hiking it

Love this hike. Short enough you can enjoy other hikes in the area.

Good family hike, fairly easy and not a ton of elevation gain. Easy for adults and very do able for kids

Moderate hike from the hemlock side. Nice lakes Mosquitos weren’t too bad, but there was definitely an over abundance of them. The worst part was seeing all the toilet paper and poop holes people have left behind. If you’re going to dig a hole to use at least fill it in and pack out your toilet paper. Just behind every downed tree in the burned out section someone used the area as a toilet.

Peaceful easy hike. Great growth and shade at the start and new growth after last years fire towards the falls. Easy access and soft trail.

We wanted a nice easy hike for my fiancé, our dog and I, and we got it! The trail was very clean and open, and although we didn't quite make it to Fern Falls, Deadline Falls was quite beautiful! The thing that stopped us was the poison oak on the trails since we were worried about our dog trying to get into it. Other than that, we can't wait to come back, maybe this time minus the dog.

The lakes are still beautiful. Lots of fire damage on the short hike up to the first lake (1.25 mi), but the lakes were preserved pretty well. Mosquitos were moderate.
