Trail head was difficult to ID at first, but after asking around, we parked at Paseo Del Mar & Avenida Mirola. The view is amazing. Very rocky path.

Easy hike with plenty of people on a November Sunday late afternoon. Dry creekbed.

Very easy hike. Very packed on weekends. Plenty of shade. Bathrooms at trailhead were clean. Plenty of parking. The only reason for a three star rating was due to how many people were on the trail.

Great for a short hike not to hard, but little water coming down the falls.

Nice hike, with much needed shade. Watch your step, don't be like me who talks more than pays attention to whats in front of him

The waterfall is minuscule this time of year. The trail offers a lot of shade and is moderately challenging. Some parts of the trail was super narrow. You need an adventure pass to park. If you get carsick easily, beware. The road is quite windy to get to the trailhead.

weird to see the graffiti and smokers but it's a good hike with kids.

One of my favorite hikes because of the little pond and trees to climb. The smell of the different types of flowers and plants are beautiful, great place to get away. At the other side of the trail there’s a park and we ended up stumbling upon a Community Healing meetup.

I wish it would be longer but it’s still a nice stroll. Good place to get away and clear your head.

Great area and very pretty with some Fall colors. Popular place with lots of people. Sadly many don't know trail ettitquette, but we were impressed that there wasn't much (any) trash or grafitti for the amount of traffic. To get to the falls go past it, take the left fork to the creek and go left along the creek. Or take the right at the creek to go to Bear Canyon.

WAY too crowded. Too many people. Dog crap everywhere and no one picks it up. Trash and crap graffiti. People on the trail don’t have etiquette and will block the whole trail and go slow. Won’t allow others to pass. Waterfall is unimpressive.

October 22: Solo’d to the waterfall and only one wrong turn.

This is definitely hard but we enjoyed the adventure. Backpacked our little one down the whole way and stayed low. Our 7yr old son was very into it. When it comes to walking on rocks the whole way we didn't really mind it and it was fun working our way to the end.

Definitely beautiful views, not alot of shade. Alot of different ways to venture off to. Probably would be a little more on the hard side versus moderate due to steep spots, stairs and cliffs.

A peaceful Sunday morning hike through a colorful, boulder-strewn canyon. Lots of woodpeckers to keep us entertained! A bit of fall color on the way to the waterfall, which is very zen-like: a small trickle flowing into a reflective pool. It’s shady much of the way, so being a light jacket is you’re hiking in the morning.

Good Socal hike with great views of the mountains.

Didn't really enjoy it. Walking on rocks all the time and the shipwreck is not worth it.

This is a relatively easy hike but, as other reviewers have mentioned, it's very crowded on the weekends

Great hike! We ended up going all the way over to the bear canyon camp ground and back! Great views and good walking trails.

Tips: bring a map and not your bicycle! There is no service anywhere and you will have to carry your bike....

It’s horrible here on the weekend... Lots of trash, dog poop, people making out and people smoking! Never on the weekend again!

Any waterfall because of the rain yesterday?

Love this trail.

Very nice. Plenty of parking, well marked trail, friendly people, beautiful scenery, and nice waterfall at the end.

Miles:5.2
Elevation:750ft
Duration: 2-3 hours
Level:easy -moderate
Dogs allowed on leash
Please bring your adventure pass to park.

When you arrive to the Switzer falls sign off the highway you will see a small road near the bathrooms. Go down that small road! There is plenty of parking down at the bottom. Start at the picnic tables. You have chances for a nice clean bathroom down at the bottom when your starting your hike. Cross the bridge and start down the paved road. The road ends about 1mile in but this trail is well marked and is very easy to follow.

This is a great hike to take your kids 6 and up. The views are beautiful. There are plenty of water crossings which makes it fun for the kids.
Your in shade about 80% of the trail but there is a small part with full exposer. We had people bring trekking Poles for the water crossings. There isn’t a lot of water there right now but enough to enjoy the views. When you get to the park where there is no shade “scream Hello!” As loud as you can and you can hear your echos bounce off the mountains! That was fun! When you get down to the bottom of your switch backs there’s shade again and your almost to the waterfall.

The waterfall doesn’t have much water in it but it’s still beautiful.

It was fun! Over all a perfect sized hike for us with dogs and kids!

Have fun! stay safe! Keep your dogs on a leash! Bring enough water and snacks, and leave no trace of trash!

I've walked this trail plenty of times. Usually to take some friends that just want a simple walk in the woods that isn't too strenuous. Though it isn't my favorite. As other have mentioned parking is minimal and it is pretty congested. It's great after showers. If it wasn't for the crowd and location I would've given it another star. Bottom line: neat trail, parking sucks, initial paved road, and congestion.

Wear real hiking boots or hard soled shoes. You can actually drive down closer to the start of the real trail. The All Trails App has you starting in the neighborhood and walking half a mile up the trail start. Some parts might be tricky during high tide so be mindful.

a nice little hike plenty of shade lots of different plant life but not much water this time of year but still worth the trip relatively easy
