Really pretty short hike. I also climbed up the large rock close to the midpoint for some added interest and elevation gain. Very easy to do several of these short Valley of Fire hikes in a day.

Did the loop trail instead. Definitely recommend it over this super short one. Picturesque and fun.

Easy walk even in the sand. Went all the way to the end to the Fire Canyon overlook. Lots to see and enjoy!

Great drive. Hiked calico trail

Loved this shorty hike. A must if you’ve never been in a slot canyon. Great for kids or older adults in just a few minutes you can get the slot canyon experience.

Hike was short but the weather couldn’t have been better. The first lava tube was more for the caving type, steep decent. I wouldn’t recommend for younger kids. Or an older person like me (60). The second tube on your right had an easier decent that almost anyone can navigate. It doesn’t go very deep but it will be fun for the younger kids and us old folks. Really hard to get lost in this cave. Sign at the entrance is good to follow. Perfect hike on a hot day. I’ve enjoyed this fun little hike for over 44 years. If your in them at dusk I’m guessing the bat population exiting will start your heart a pumping. Saw bat guano in both lava tubes.

I did the bowl of fire trail in its entirety and then some. It took 7.5 hours. The trail was filled with all that a sportsman can handle. Note: you have to be in great shape to do this trail. The trail starts moderately easy but then it gets challenging. Have gloves handy. There are hills, mountains; the open desert, valleys and amazing sandstone rock formations. What a view! Important: please note that the trail disappears once you go down to the valley. You will need your GPS on. Alert: turn on your GPS from home and leave it on. You will lose reception well before you get to your hike location and then you will not be able to navigate your way. Have a power bank for your phone. EXTRA EXTRA!!! I was nearly attacked by a big bird. Not fun. I came face to face with a coiled rattle snake which was about 4 feet and I was within 8 feet from it. It was about to attack but I ran a few feet to create distance and it also disappeared. They shake the end of their tails when you're close so you'll always know if they're around. Please don't let that scare you. Enjoy the trail. Have fun. Take water with you and above all, be safe.

another good one while visiting this park. all short hikes

By far the best views in all of Valley Of Fire. Hike up and enjoy the view! Enjoy a quiet picnic and don’t forget to leave nothing but footprints

The loose softball sized lava rocks were a pain in the butt on a bike. The scenery makes it worth doing, but if I do this trail again, I’ll leave the bike at home.

If you visit Las Vegas, make sure you go to Red Rock and at least take the scenic drive. It is an amazing place to visit! The National Park America the Beautiful pass ($80/year for entrance to all national parks and monuments) gets you in for no additional cost. The visitors center is very helpful in suggesting trails to take if you are feeling like taking a hike. Nice areas to stop and take scenic photos.

Very easy to get to. Not that impressive in my opinion. Worth a stop if you have little ones maybe

Super Easy trail, great for family.

Great for a drive or getting off the blacktop and hiking round. Tranquil and perfect for seeing some geology that is completely unique even to a seasoned rock hound

We started about 1/2 hour before sunset. I think we should have started 45-60 minutes before sunset to get to the end of the trail before dark. We did not quite make it to the end of the trail, but not sure if that matters (since it was dark already by the time we started back, we heard coyotes howling in the distance... glad we did not go any further down!). We saw three 'tubes', I think the last one we saw was the easiest to go down into. Come with a flashlight. The first one you see, is quite a deep pit, which I am not sure you can get down into. We did not go into any of them. I would consider this trail moderate. The way to the end is all going down in elevation, and if you're not used to walking on rocky surfaces, it can slow you down. I felt coming up was easier.

Really nice short hike for complete beginners or to stretch your legs at the end of the day. My wife and I found the plaque inside moving.

This was a great hike, beautiful scenery and going into the lava tubes was something I will never forget.

this is an amazing hike.

the trail is easy but the climb down into the lava was more than my 6 year wanted/could handle.

Great views of lava rock, flowers, caves and mountains. Not much shade and very hot in the summer.

7AM! We had a blast entering in from the Lake Mead side of the highway and hit this site first! Nobody there yet and early enough not to be too hot. You can park right below this rock formation and take a quick hike up. The trail is marked with some fading white chalk and takes you directly up and behind for an awesome view! FYI: Signs say not to walk on the road.

Nice short hike. Park map shows it has slot canyons, but I think that’s a stretch. It’s a steep short hike over rocks at the end. It’s always nice and cool up high, by the red rocks.

Short easy trail. Scrambling up the steep rock to the pioneer names is a blast! There are two points of entry onto the trail. The one where you can see the names from the road is shorter.

We've done this hike several times and finally thought to bring some headlamps. The caves are nice and cool so if you bring water you will be fine out in the sun. Fun for kids to discover.

This is a quick stop. Take a picture. Continue on type of hike. When I saw images of this I thought it would be awesome but the canyon is very short and that picture is hard to get as it is a popular hike.
