Nice hike with lots of people, I prefer wilder hikes with no handlebars or decks.
It was so crowded that was difficult to find a spot for taking pictures.

This hike was phenomnal! So much beautiful scenery. The hike has quite the incline on the way up. But the views at the top are totally worth it! Make sure to get there EARLY! The parking lot was full by 830am. Besides the parking nightmare, it was perfect. Also, the trail is pretty shaded the whole way which helps!

Absolutely stunning and worth the relatively strenuous hike up (coming from a FL girl). We started this hike around 6:30pm and the temp (in late July) was perfect!! Thanks for the awesomeness Mother Nature!

More of a walk than a hike and was fairly busy. It's an easy one but with some great highlights. The trail is kind of hard to follow exactly because there's so many well worn off shooting paths. Try and stay on trail as much as you can to get to the Grottos/ice caves. From there, keep going straight, cross the bridge, then stay slightly left/straight (don't go right) to reach the Cascades (very pretty waterfall that has multiple pools and levels). It's such a short, easy hike that you're unlikely to get lost if you follow the numerous trails, it just makes it more time consuming to find the sights you're there for.
Would definitely recommend going early because the parking lot gets kind of full. Plus, it will be less crowded earlier in the day.

Beautiful Hike! Get there early (around 6:30a/7a) to beat the crowds. Steep, but totally worth it! Make sure to pack lots of water.

It is a very easy, small hike, and very busy with people traffic. I do agree with other hikers, that it very short distance to spend the day fee just for the hike. Would recommend if you have time to do one of the other trails as well or have a picnic while your here.

Did this hike with our 10 and 13 year old girls on a stop while biking 14 miles. It was very tough but everyone loved it and there were no complaints. Bring a lot of water. Getting there is very steep and rocky for the majority of the way.

Nice easy walk. Good for dogs and little ones. If stream is dry don’t expect a waterfall show. Good picnic spots around the reservoir

Amazing hike! Best advice I can give is to wear shoes with ankle support. I'm pretty fit, but it's super rocky terrain and rolled my ankle on this trail. I wasn't wearing proper hiking shoes (just good pair of low-top running shoes). I would say this hike is more on the strenuous side just because of the sharp inclines and rockiness of the trail.
As you walk, you'll find little air vents with cool air coming out, take advantage of them!
You'll be tired when you get to the top, but make sure you go to Sprouting Rock! It's really close and beautiful.

Nice hike but it was very warm on Saturday even at those altitudes. Not much if a waterfall this time of year.

Waterfall and creek was dry.

small parking lot and not a hike really. However a very pretty area to hangout and relax. Pretty crowded

Gorgeous scenery/views, opportunities to climb boulders, and several streams and some small waterfalls. It was awesome. People really need to stop leaving bags of dog poo around, though; there’s bags everywhere! It’s littering and definitely not ok. But other than that, a great trail! It’s tough though, lots of rocky, uphill terrain. Great workout!

What a hike! Totally worth it!

I went on this hike for the "waterfall" and I don't even get how that is considered a waterfall, I could make a better one in my backyard with a hose.

Fun trail, and the lake is breathtaking.

Forget that it’s touristy, it’s not easy. There’s a reason that it’s popular. It’s a beautiful place. The trail is challenging and rocky in many parts. But it’s diverse enough with many shady places to stop and rest along the creek with little waterfalls and birds. The lake and the views on top are wonderful. Have lunch up there. And I got under the waterfalls partially at Sprouting Rock, just 100 feet up. Don’t get fully under, you’ll get clobbered! Loved the hike.

more of a walk than a hike. worth it for the scenery

Beautiful morning hike. Loved the sun playing peak-a-boo through the trees. Water is really low right now so not a lot of water on the falls.

This was an amazing hike. It could be difficult for some people due to the terrain. It was so nice. Make sure to go early. We got there at 5:45 am and was the first to the lake. When we were walking down there was a ton of people walking up.

Awesome hike but heavily trafficked. Go in early spring or late fall! And hike further for a surprise!

Great for running, or for an intro to Colorado trails. Definitely evidence of higher traffic, but great on a weekday. Very close to a beautiful lake in Evergreen. Nice to have a creek running alongside the trails for the dogs to cool off in.

Waterfall was tricky to find, take a left after the bridge & go up and over the rocks until you see a picnic table by the water & then there’s a clearly marked trail or take the easy level path BEFORE the bridge

Great beginner hike! This was my first and now I’m hooked.

This hike is amazing. The hike up the hill is a bit of a challenge. The trail is mostly shaded and there are plenty of places to stop and take a break, but I wouldn’t recommend the hike to someone with knee or hip problems or who is a novice hiker. The lake is beautiful! You can see the fish swimming in the aquamarine water! The views of the mountains at the top are beautiful too! However, the trail is crowded and I recommend getting there early. The parking lot gets full rather quickly too.

Very nice pretty much the trail is shady and it’s just beautiful

I was really impressed with seeing the end of this trail: the geological wonders of a hanging lake, but I don’t think I’d do this trail again. It is a lot of effort and the lake was a little disappointing for all of that effort. Just a little though!

There are also a lot of tourists who don’t know trail etiquette. With so many people around, it takes a bit away from the peaceful nature of a hike.

I noticed the water wasn't as full this time of the year. However, it was a great hike!

Trail has lots of people (& dogs). We went mid morning (8:30ish) and it was pretty packed the whole time. We had a hard time finding the trail markers throughout but we did enjoy our time and the views. I also saw a few snakes so keep an eye out. Over all a good hike!

My favorite CO hike. Very rocky and steep inclines so dress appropriately. Will definitely be back.
