Lots of Moose at the lake every time I have hiked this. Easy hike. Bring bug spray!

A nice walk along the river in the heart of Bigfork. Wonderful for kids and dogs.

Beautiful hike! We hiked this trail after hiking to Grinnell Glacier. This trail is easy and beautiful all at once. It passes through dense forest. Beautiful lake with a beautiful beachy area. Great views from the lake. Bring water and a snack, carry bear spray. Make noise on the trail.

Short and sweet with a stunning view of hidden lake. You're sure to see mountain goats and maybe a bear but it's always crowded.

Crowed during tourist season but still one of my favorite hikes. There is so much beauty all along the trail. At the beginning there's not a lot of shade so it's easy to get sun burnt. Be sure to wear sun screen and if you get too hot you can always jump in the water at Saint Mary's Falls.

Pretty basic trail. Extremely icy there lately, which takes away some of the fun. Try it in the spring and I'm sure the flowers/new growth would gain it another star. Just a so so winter hike.

After we hiked the Highline Trail from Logan to Granite Park and took the shuttle back to Logan, this was the perfect short hike to finish the day off with. Mid-July, there were still quite a few snow-fields to cross, which a lot of people seemed very unprepared for. That said, none of the fields were dangerous in any way, just don’t wear flip-flops. There were a lot of people on the trail, so be prepared for that. Despite the crowds, we saw several mountain goats and ground squirrels. The trail beyond the overlook down to the lake itself was closed due to bear danger, so can’t comment on that, but even just the view from the overlook is more than worth the hike.

Big Creek Hike as the local sign postage has - Swan River Trail is flat, long, and easy to navigate. Today there was about 16" of powder/packed powder on the trail so normally this trail would be a walk. Nice and quite, this path allows for views of the river and quite self-reflection. Bring the pup if you got one!

we went around 8-9am and it was CROWDED. its a good hike if 1) you need recovery day from a long hike 2) want to do a "family" hike 3) you are older and have problems with some of the other moderate or difficult hikes. if none of those apply to you, i'd pick something else.

Very easy trail. Several people with dogs on the trail and ran into some bikers. Skyles Lake overlook was worth the hike. Just beautiful.

A good place to spend a warm sunny afternoon playing around on the rocks and in the water. A fun place for kids to explore.

Hiked to St Mary's Falls early in the morning before the crowds. Saw only a couple of other hikers on the trail. Many varieties of wildflowers. Water is crystal clear.

Trail is through a forest that burned several years ago making it interesting to witness the regeneration of it. Falls are well worth the hike.

Great little hike to a beautiful falls. We did it in the first snow of the season, but I can see how it would be very popular in the summer heat!

Great little trail that gains some quick elevation, but it's such a short hike, even young kids had an enjoyable time and the falls are well worth the trek.

Area is nice, but I can't consider this a hike. A brisk walk at best.

Great trail in an amazing location.

Beautiful. Worth the hike.

This was a great hike, but I'm still not sure if I made it to Virginia Falls. I think we were at the top of it (the water flow is much less than earlier in the season, I'm guessing), but I don't recall seeing a spot to view the falls from below. The unnamed falls in between doesn't clear up any confusion. But it was spectacular regardless.

We did this hike Monday of Labor Day weekend. Given that the boat was full, we expected to have a bit more safety in numbers walking through black bear habitat, but there was only one other solo hiker, and a slower group. We had to commit to a time for our boat return given the busy weekend, so we opted for the earlier departure, which ended up giving us a little less than an hour at the lake (plus one hour to hike each way). The hike through the forest was stressful because there were only two of us, and the foliage was thick, but luckily we didn't see any bears. Once at the lake, only the upper portion of the main lake is visible - the southeast side of the lake is covered in willows. We did see one moose and were surprised by how tiny it looked across the lake, given that the lake is not very large.

Loved the hike itself. The hike says dogs on leash. DONT BELIEVE IT!!! I picked this hike because of it. Didn't read the park book, which was my fault and had no place for the dogs.

Very beautiful waterfalls.

Beautiful trail! If you want to see wildlife and avoid the crowds, get there early in the morning. Logan pass has a large parking lot, a gift shop, and bathrooms, but seeing as it is a major destination most of the parking fills up quickly. My family and I got there around 7am, just after sunrise, and saw a huge heard of bighorn sheep and a family of mountain goats. Bring binoculars if you have them.

Most of the path is covered in a wooden boardwalk so it is extremely easy for people who have trouble on rough terrain, or people with young children. The landscape is gorgeous and every direction you look could be a postcard for the park.

A beautiful and fun short hike. Make sure you don't stop till you get right to the falls..you need to climb a bit to get there but its fun and so beautiful.

Very easy hike. Nice little falls, it's only viewed from platforms though.

Kids have a blast walking the canyon bottom. We even came back the next day and did it again but with crocs on.
