this was one of my favorite trails!

A nice pretty easy hike. unfortunately it was very smokey from all the wildfires in the area while we I was there but still beautiful! came 20ft apart with a black bear but made it by with no incidents

most beautiful trail i have ever done!! it is long and gorgeous the entire way. you hike along the hill side, and end up at a warming house! it hailed and snowed on our hike, but id do it again in a heart beat! it was so fun. check the shuttle time at end of trail, so you don't have to walk miles back to parking lot!

Easy hike! beautiful view at the end and a fun place to swim or cool off. Young or old this is a good hike for everyone.

Freaking beautiful- past the overlook

This hike was our first one in Glacier! It was busy but we were there over the 4th of July. Go early regardless during the busy season so parking isn’t an issue. Literally saw people yelling at each other in the parking lot for spots. The snow was still on the mountain on our way up and pretty entertaining as some folks had flip flops on attempting the trek. So wear tennis shoes! Once you get to the overlook YOU GOTTA KEEP GOING! The way down to the lake was beautiful and then once you get there it takes your breath away. Picture perfect views and a fun spot to spend time taking it all in. There had been “grizzly activity” the day before but we didn’t see any ( wheh) but we saw a few sheep, goats, chipmunks and what I think is a marmot!! Way back up is strenuous but doable if you walk or hike often.

Gorgeous lake. Nice hike.

Saw rams, mountain goats and moose along the way. No bears though! The glacier is slowly shrinking but still beautiful!

We were in from out of town and wanted to get a hike in on the only clear day we were here (which happened to be New Year’s Eve). We were not prepared for the 3 feet of snow on the top of the mountain but still had a blast for the first 3,000ft. After that, you better have snowshoes or skis, otherwise you will be crawling up or up to your hips in snow. The trek took us 6 hours and we had to turn back early. Should be no problem with the right gear, but it is uphill the whole way. We will absolutely be back better prepared because the views were great!

The most constant stunning views of any hike I have ever completed. Hiked in August 2017 so the park was filled with smoke from the fires, but this hike offered stunning views along the ridge. Also offered a bit of adrenaline walking along a ridge with a drop that would not be very survivable. Overall would highly recommend and will surely hike again.

Hiked August 2017 and still remains one of my favorites Ive done. Trail itself is not to challenging until you reach the switchbacks that lead to the tunnel. Lots of wildlife along the way and at the lake. We saw mountain goats, sheep, and a golden eagle dive in for a kill all in a span of an hour.

Hiked this last August while most of the park was closed from fire damage and smoke. Great reward at the end and saw 3 moose along the way, including a 22 point bull that walked across the trail about 25 feet in front of us.

One of the best hikes in the country!!!!

My favorite hike of all time. Cannot begin to describe the views. If you go to GNP in July or August, there's a good chance the trail will be open as it depends on how much snow needs to be cleared. If you time it right, you can do some of the hike with a ranger, who will fill you in on details about the park you may not otherwise know. It is very steep, with a few dangerous drop offs, but there is a handrail when the trail narrows. If you have the time, you can hike to one of the chalets. Keep your eyes out for the garden wall, so beautiful.

Amazing views of the lake, with peaks above you and waterfalls galore.. Very crowded with people in the summer months. Went with a group, which is recommended as to not have to try and figure out the bear spray.

A nice trail, not terribly hard but will be very busy during the summer months. Plan to get an early start if you want a quiet trail because it’s popular with families

Hiked September 2017. While smoke obscured our views, this was a great first hike in Glacier NP.

Hiked September 2017. Beautiful location. We took the boat across the first lake and then hiked to the second for a quick lunch. We think we heard elk bugling but didn’t spot them.

Hiked September 2017. This hike was a wildlife bonanza for us - bighorn sheep, 2 moose including a baby and 2 grizzly bears (at a very comfortable distance). The views down the valley were spectacular too!

We hiked it the latter half of August 2018. The trail was busy. All types of hikers; flip flops with no water and experienced hikers. The flip floppers didn't go very far, thankfully. Lots of goats and sheep and small varmit. The smoke from the fires made the stay at Granite Park Chalet, along with no maturity of the staff (nice but no adults in charge) unbearable. We were to have stayed 2 nights but left after one, losing the money on that second night. We weren't the only ones not happy, there was a newlywed couple on their honeymoon who had a sad experience, too. We have stayed years at the sister chalet Sperry. Sperry had very good staffing with an adult in charge. Never going back to Granite Park for an overnight. Great hike thru with a lunch stop is recommended...... amazing hike ! Giving the hike 5 stars and the staffing at the chalet, 1 star......

Nice get away trail in the summer time. It's all about timing. Got to enjoy the lake with very a little amount of people.

Long hike but not too much elevation. The color of the water is beautiful, and if you’re feeling up to it (and have a swimsuit or change of clothes), hop on in! It’s cold but not too bad, even on a day when there was smoke and some clouds covering most of the sun, I wasn’t cold afterwards. Make sure to look out for trail closures, the entire pathway is lined with berries perfect for bears!

Beautiful quick hike - if you’re able, make it down to the lake, just be prepared for the stairclimb back up.

Amazing! Make sure to check trail closures, especially during the summer and fall when the grizzlies are active - glacier closes the trails according to bear activity. You can take a boat to make the hike if you’d like. Make sure to keep an eye out for animals in the valley below, saw moose, big horn sheep, and a grizzly.

EPIC view! You have to check it out if visiting.

Got to hike this in the snow, it was an epic experience. Lots of slipping and sliding, but tons of fun. One of my favorite hikes ever.

Decent views on the trail and at the lake. Water took on an amazing shade of aquamarine. It was the most underwhelming hike in Glacier NP for us. Way too crowded. Very little change in elevation, views weren't as dramatic as I hoped.
