Beautiful hike! It is moderate and goes around the bay :-)
Nice views of Golden Gate all the way. If you want to hike all the way to Golden Gate, you need to walk through BEAUTIFUL homes in SF! The one's which are like my Dream Homes! Oh well moving on, the hike is simple walk from the trail end to GG.

I would rate this hike as easy / moderate! Some elevation which is nullified by the beautiful views.

The hike is very beautiful with views of golden gate and fairly moderate trail with mostly flat terrain. We got there early(by 7.00 am) , so the parking was ample and the trail was less trafficked. The weather was just perfect for a hike.

Great views, not always clear and usually windy. Definitely a fairly easy walk and great for dogs.

Definitely come here early in the morning. Just went on July 15, and we were glad we got there early at 8:30. Got the trial to ourselves and made it down to Eagle’s point. We hung out for a bit and circled around to the Legion of Honors museum and made our way back down to the coastal trail. On the way back there were a TON of people. Glad we came early to secure parking and made sure we didn’t have to walk side by side with everyone else that just start the trail. Great scenes here and there for a quick photo with the bridge. Will come again soon, but a lot earlier to get the trails to ourselves.

Easy walk down to the beach. You can book to camp there too. Finding parking on top was a pain since there’s very limited space. There was no swing when I went.

Great views, stairs help with the steeper paths.

Amazing views of all sides of the bay. A steep start. Picnic tables at the top. Worth going to summit of mt Livermore

Great two hour hike with incredible views of the bay at the top. Took a detour to check out the houses on Wolfback Ridge, and another to take in the stellar view at the little cutoff in the middle of the SCA trail. Don’t miss that one! Note that the map is wrong, there’s no Julian Trail from Bunker Road to Rodeo Valley Trail. Looks like it never even existed either.

Nice trail with great views! The negative is that many tourist congest the trail, so def get there before 10am.

Didn’t hike much of it but it was like being in an army base

I did this hike alone and really enjoyed it. It’s pretty easy to do, mostly up hill but with the most amazing views and lovely nature along the way. I got there on the 10am (ish) ferry and managed to get on the 12pm ferry back to San Francisco.
The views from the top are totally worth the hike. There were also some fun animals along the way, interesting birds and lizards! Would recommend on a clear day so you can make the most of the views!!

Is an awesome walk along the coast with stunning views. Sutro baths are super interesting too! The paths are easy to navigate and there are often stairs when it gets steep. Would definitely recommend, is suitable for most!

If the weather is good, as it was for me, this cannot be beat for views. One after another spectacular view along the Coastal Trail. The return leg takes you past the golf course and Legion of Honor. Also has a fair climb that will get your heart pumping, as will the stairs along the Coastal Trail and down to the Labyrinth. Also worth checking out the nearby Sutro Baths.

So fortunate to have caught it on a clear day. Easily one of the most beautiful urban hikes I've seen. Parking was a breeze at the visitors center.

Enjoyed this scenic hike. Beautiful views of the ocean, greenery, and Golden Gate bridge. It was super pleasant on a sunny but cool and clear day.

Beautiful trail with lots to see. Didn’t see any shipwrecks though. It’s also a long trail. Our map took us on a loop at the end. The loop further away from the coast isn’t as scenic. A lot of people were going back along the coastal trail.

The traffic was moderate but not too bad for a Sunday.

Beautiful view and a great hike to go with friends and family.

The views are remarkable... a 360 view of the Bay from the middle of it!

I took a detour from the trail to visit the immigration Center. At the top of the stairs on the North ridge trail, I made a left and went about a mile along the perimeter road to it's entrance. I read the signage around the harbor then did a self-guided tour of the barracks. (Bring cash for entry!) It was a good, visceral reminder of our problematic history with immigrants.

From the Immigration Center I continued for a short time on the perimeter road to a fire road on the right. I followed that yo the Ida Trail that was marked as "to Mt. Livermore". This was a mostly uphill, exposed stretch. A bit hot, but incomparable and unobstructed views of East Bay, Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, SF, and Golden Gate bridge. At the top, the trail met up with the sunset trail.

The sunset trail was mostly level and transitioned from grasses to oak and bay tree coverage. Once in the trees, it was a steady decline back to Ayala Cove.

I had time to read about the island's history and varied uses at the visitor center and a beer at the cafe before my ferry departure.

A great day to enjoy the Bay area and learn some new things about the area.

6-20-18 hike with my son and had a great day. Took to 10am Tiburon Ferry ($15 each) and started trail by 10:45. The trail going up to 788 feet is about what you would expect, except the views of the bay were spectacular. Also, went to the immigration station as a point of interest and history. Saw a mole on the trail, it was dead but still cool. This hike is all about the views.

The most amazing views! Walking down is the easy part because it’s all downhill but going back up is a little more challenging! I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Don’t be fooled this is a short hike but it could leave you out of breath especially if you’re hiking and talking/laughingg with a friend you haven’t seen for a while. The views were superb. And the labyrinth was a hidden surprise. I’ll do it again.

Hiked it and biked it. Great scenery and the occasional history lesson regarding the islands, days a fort.

Beautiful hike! It’s so nice to get some quiet time away from the city. The breeze feels wonderful as well. There are gorgeous views of the bridge so as to truly appreciate its scale. There are also a handful of interesting plaques posted describing the history of the area. Definitely recommend that you check this out, and it’s easily accessible by Muni.

Simple walk and nice views
