This is a relatively easy hike but, as other reviewers have mentioned, it's very crowded on the weekends

It’s horrible here on the weekend... Lots of trash, dog poop, people making out and people smoking! Never on the weekend again!

Any waterfall because of the rain yesterday?

I’ve done this hike twice and it’s one of my favorites. I like that you get a little workout and not pushing too many miles. Perfect place to bring friends from out of town. Once getting to Cuhuenga Peak and passing the Wisdom Tree you can make your way to Mt. Lee to get to the back of the Hollywood sign. Planning on doing it at night for the views.

Very nice. Plenty of parking, well marked trail, friendly people, beautiful scenery, and nice waterfall at the end.

An iconic L.A. hike and one of my favorites in Griffith Park, but you need to prepared for a steep, rocky, unshaded climb. The views from the ridge between the Wisdom Tree and the Hollywood sign are great, with the old Hollywood studios to the south, and the newer Warner and Disney studios to the north. On a clear day, your view stretches from the ocean to the San Gabriel Mountains. On a foggy "June gloom" day, you look down on the marine layer in the valleys and feel like you're deep in the wilderness. Except for the freeway noise. But, like I said, an iconic L.A. hike.

Wear real hiking boots or hard soled shoes. You can actually drive down closer to the start of the real trail. The All Trails App has you starting in the neighborhood and walking half a mile up the trail start. Some parts might be tricky during high tide so be mindful.

a nice little hike plenty of shade lots of different plant life but not much water this time of year but still worth the trip relatively easy

Took our kids yesterday and it was a great hike! There’s some type of bridge at the very top of the mountain. We didn’t hike that far but looks cool!

on Shipwreck Trail

It was well worth the millions of rocks we had to walk through. We recorded about 6.5 miles total maybe because we took the long way. I’d recommend coming back up past the shipwreck to just walk a regular path back which was probably around 3.3 miles.

Nice mellow hike. second half is shaded. Obviously, not too much water but it's worth seeing the end.

Loved the solitude. Extremely rocky but brautiful. Ruined a boot and was saved by a cole haan shoe that I came across and salvaged the lace. Be wary of the tides

One of my first Mountain Summits. Small yes, but was fun none the less! Great panorama view at the top.

Great hike route. Moderate-Hike, with my long time buddy Paul. Nice trail, streams, great place to lunch. Recommended.

Nice easy hike. Way too many people on the weekends. Unfortunately the last time I went there was some kind of company family event. There seemed to be a hundred ppl crowding the waterfall. Kids running and yelling everywhere. Not the peaceful experience i was looking for.

**HOEGEES CAMPGROUND is on the East side - by the junction of Lower and Upper Winter Creek trails, after you've descended from Mount Zion. This map has it located at the North, which is Camp Sturtevant's location, where you can get water.

Loved it! But the ridgebacks after Mount Zion, which is worth a visit, were pretty tough. Made sure to stop every few for a break. Great views, despite the vegetation at the top of Zion. If I had to do again, I’d go later in the day, set up camp at Spruce campgrounds, refill water at Camp Sturtevant and hit up Mount Zion or Wilson the next day.

Planned to camp but saw bear scat in the Hoegees campground, then a ranger said, “Be sure to use this new food box, in case the bear comes.” He was gone before I could clarify if he meant “a bear” in general or “the bear” as in, a specific one that regularly visits. I had been there a few hours & since nobody else was setting up camp, I decided to pack up and head back to the parking lot.

Great afternoon ,great view.

Easy hike. Waterfall is very low at the end but has a few trickles

Really beautiful nearly the entire hike, great views. However, if you shit in the woods please pack out your toilet paper and pack out your food trash. Leave no trace.

I took the drain pipe down to the shore and veered left heading to the shipwreck. It’s a long haul through often unstable rocks. I would not recommend this part of the hike for small children and dogs, nor would I recommend hiking this section alone unless you are an experienced hiker. It would be very easy to turn an ankle, and I had no phone/internet connection while I was at the shore. Once you reach the shipwreck, you have the option of scaling the cliff wall with hands and feet (dangerous and not recommended) or turning back to go the way you came in. Either option is unsavory if you are injured or exhausted. In the end, I’m glad I went. The wreck had some creepy factor to it which was fun, but I would not do it again by myself!

Had a good time. Started at the parking lot right where Paseo del Mar splits off from Palos Verdes Blvd. There are a couple of ways to go down the bluff but I ended up taking the Drain Pipe way. This trail is hard only in the sense that getting down and back up the bluff is a shuffle and the whole trail is on rocks. Would def recommend taller hiking shoes for ankle support and cushy socks.

Love this trail and will be back

Straightforward loop, with the Old Zoo as an interesting note about halfway through. Difficulty comes in length and long ups and long descents.

Go early and bring a hat because there are some unshaded parts.

Also do the part up the hills to the Old Zoo first, because the half near the highway is long and flat, and the hike up is both more tiring and more fun.

Great long hike though, I recommend it!

love it great for kids too

So beautiful and so worth it! It’s a very easy hike and there is a baby waterfall at the end too (Sep, 2018) Perfect to dip your feet in, take pictures and just relax. I bring my 9lbs pup with me and she loves playing in the water.

First time here and absolutely fell in love with it ... awesome views and inspiring reads!!!! I hung out til it was pitch black..
