Great view on top, easy to walk, not a lot of snow! I would recommand :)

Stunning hike, easy terrain. Beautiful after first snowfalls

Did the low Jewell Pass track to Barrier and then back up the jeep track over Yates. Great little hike - good distance. Moderate rather than hard. Keen to MTB it in the summer

Did this hike on November 12th

Excellent day with dry conditions! We clocked 11 km and 912 metre gain to helipad! 4 hours 10 minutes with lots of breaks! Amazing hike and views! Can’t wait to come back and go up ridge !

Nice and simple hike. My boyfriend, dog and I hiked out to the 3rd waterfall which is about 8km from the trailhead. Great views the whole way and easy trail to follow along the river. Recommend this hike to anyone!

Nov 11 2018
Beautiful winter hike. Easy trail was very easy. Probably good with a stroller.
More difficult was full of tree roots and rocks under the little snow. Closer to the top of more difficult trail you need crampons. It was pure ice due to the overflow.
From the lakes, the hike up the stairs has a nice lookout. At the very top you can cross the road for a nice mountain and lake view.
Outhouse on site.

Went on Nov 12th. Sunny. Temp -5. Trail spilt into more difficult and east. More difficult has lots of frozen icy surface which are extramely spiliry. lots of beautiful forest view and sunny mountain view. Trail beyond water fall is covered in frozen ice. Spikes are recommended for that part of the trail.
Grassi lakes at the end of the trail is very beautiful and not frozen so you still see the beautiful color of the water.
I would go back in summer again.

I LOVED this hike today. It was stunning with all the snow, reminded me of a winter wonderland. Such a nice and easy hike. Highly recommended

We did this on November 10, and it was amazing. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and there was very little snow. If there was more snow it would definitely not have been as enjoyable.

Well that was a hell of a hike. Beautiful day. My dog and I set out, microspikes and Ruffwear boots. Took a few breaks for food and water for my dog. So windy at the false summit and didn’t think I would even try to make it to the lookout tower but some awesome ladies with dogs who were experienced hikers ventured up there so we followed. Worth the views. Would have stayed up there longer but the windy was terribly cold so we trekked back down. Road up was very slippery so keep that in mind at this time of year. A lot harder than I expected. If you bring a dog make sure they have boots if you go to the top. Very sharp rocks.

Did without spikes today as light snow covering in places and bare for parts of hillside. I would take spikes with you regardless, in case it ices up or gets more snow. Fantastic views all the way along the ridge, and I wouldn't rate this as difficult as the elev gain is certainly there, but there is little to no exposure and good trail all the way to the summit. Powerline ROW for the first (and last) hour eases you into it and is a well defined trail if you want to start or finish in the dark. Reminder that this trail will be closed December 1 - June 15 for wildlife management so if you want to check it out you have the rest of the month.

Enjoyable easy hike :)
Went 3 weeks a go a bit slippery in some spots but other then that a good fun hike.

Hiked this twice. Once in August 2017 and then again on November 12, 2018. There hadn't been much snow fall lately, so we tried this today. The closer we got to to the top the more snow there was. There was maybe about 3 inches toward the top. In a few spots we had to hike though some knee-deep areas. It was great to do a hike in November. The snow slowed us down a little on the way up. We did the whole hike in just under 5 hours. Beautiful views. Worth the hike.

Not recommended for the harder side in the winter unless you have good shoe spikes. Great views and a pleasant trail when recovering from a hard trail. Lots of traffic even in winter and much better than Quarry Lake all around.

Thigh burner for sure! Some snow and packed ice present, spikes and poles recommended. Got lucky and had a glorious sunshine lunch on the helipad - very little wind.

Easy trail to a decent view point. If you go just a couple hundred meters up towards midnight peak the views are excellent.

me and my friends did this hike today ....very nice easy hike ...no slippery sections ....there was snow but easy to manage...beautiful views of Barrier lake and Mount Baldy .

Great trail with beautiful views. Spikes strongly recommended this time of year. Snowshoes are helpful near the end of the trail as it becomes less packed.

Did this in early October. Super tough hike, up mountain right away. Every blood, sweat, and tear was worth the views. Not a kid friendly hike! Make sure you have good hiking gear for this one, poles are nice for coming back down as the scramble is slippery.

Great hike. Few tough areas but some great views towards the top. Kids would have some troubles along the way, the cave could easily be missed. Keep your eyes open! Would be good till the snow flies!

This should really be rated as easy- if you can do it in jeans it’s not that difficult. Beautiful views of Banff at the top, great hike if you want to squeeze something quick and easy into your day. Wise to bring spikes in winter- there were a couple sections where they would have been appreciated.

Was a great time, took our dog out on leash and she met a few other dogs along the way. If you have dog boots, take them with, although it wasn't muddy theres definitely some wet spots. We loved the trail, especially if you take it counter clockwise, some great view/easier to hike near the last quarter of the hike. Enjoy.

It looks photoshopped in real life.

Amazing hike/climb. Requires scrambling near top of Mt. Baldy and along ridge between Mt. Baldy and Mt. Baldy South. Icy up there now so the scrambling is a bit trickier and requires experience. The bowl/valley between the peaks is starting to get some snow so be avalanche aware if going down or up that way. Wonderful views along the ridges and top, and don’t forget to write your name on the notepad sealed in a black container at the top of Mt. Baldy!!
