great
Outstanding as always
Great little trail with a nice little waterfall at the end. Waterfall produces a lot of water right after a good rain. Handicap accessible boardwalk will not get you all the way to the waterfall but it is a great experience for the handicapable. I will definitely go again!
Trail was intense in spots with wet and slippery conditions. Holcomb Creek Falls was magnificent. There were large trees blocking the observation deck and damage to the deck at Ammon Falls but when turned back for the rest of the hike and the last falls was good. Note: this was completed on 1/5/21 so be mindful of winter hikes in North Georgia. Oh and it is a bumpy ride for sure getting to and coming back from but worth it!
Outstanding!
The last half-ish mile was gravel road, but the rest of the hike was fantastic. A view, a waterfall, and a few hours walking in the woods. Unfortunately, we went on a day when there was some kind of trail running race so we spent the first third of the hike dodging runners (and making them dodge us), but that’s our fault.
Great short walk on the boardwalk. The stream is beautiful. The path to the waterfall was slick.
Waterfall was activated! The sound and sight of running water the entire way!
Chattahoochee Forest website says trail is currently closed.
The waterfalls and trails are amazing! Truly a hidden treasure!
Beautiful trail and beautiful falls! Most of the fallen trees were cleared except for the big one blocking Ammons. The bridge and landing there are definitely damaged and need serious repairs. Be careful if going all the way out.
Absolutely amazing!!! The lake, the falls and the creek were beautiful. We did just under 8 miles on the trails and this is one of our favorite places to hike. Definitely worth visiting.
Logged this one at only about a mile. There are a few downed trees- the first couple (grouped together) right before Holcomb Falls is easily passed, but the second (also grouped, maybe four or so) is right before the bridge for Ammons Falls and while doable, was not easy to get over- the ground there is wet and rocky and slipping there could result in injury. The bridge itself has a couple missing boards and is VERY slippery, and the viewing area is dangerously damaged. Both of the falls were beautiful though. Other than those trees, the hike was relatively easy (I did it as a cooldown after taking the Rabun Bald/Hale Ridge trail). Definitely recommend for a short hike with some nice views, even if you just stop at the first Falls.
Beautiful waterfalls but some large trees have fallen and the trail especially to Ammons falls can not be easily accessed, The dock out to Ammons Falls is also damaged. Needs major repairs but both falls are just goreous- just be careful. We had to lift our 50 lb dog over one of the fallen trees.
It was a great hike. The water fall was amazing! I went through REI for this hike and the staff we had with us was great.
Awesome find. Nice walk up to the top of the pocket on gravel drive came back down and took the boardwalk to small trail to climb around at the bottom. Found the tunnel thru the rock.
