This trail had some great nature and a surprise waterfall. it's got a great wooden walking platform over some small streams too.

Beautiful trail. Not too far and the elevation change is gradual so not bad at all. Hemlock Falls is beautiful and the hike up along Mocassin Creek is stunning. I will be hiking this trail again. We have seen dogs on some of the trails we hike and although they were dog friendly trails, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be on a leash. Other people don't know your dog and some people may be deathly afraid of dogs. Please consider other people when you bring your dogs.

Good hike love the water fall at the end

Fun hike. Doesn’t take long and trail is well marked.

This is a trail that I think anyone can enjoy. I would highly suggest going in the cooler months due to the fact that the trail length can start to get to you if you aren't in the best shape. Overall the nature that will be surrounding you is some of the best in Georgia and I would highly recommend this trail to anyone seeking a good fun workout.

Quick and easy trail.

Short hike from the lower parking lot but very steep. Really gets the heart rate up. If your looking for a good 20 min cardio then go for it. Add a heavy backpack to make it more intense going up. The coming down part is a bit tough on the knees, but that just me. It's paved the whole way. Beautiful view from the top.
Happy hiking.

Tough climb to the top, but overall great hike. Hiked to the summit and then back down to camp near Martin Creek Falls before hiking out the next morning. Only camp sites I saw were 4 or so around Martin Creek Falls and the site at the top which didn't seem very tent friendly, but perfect for hammocks!

A really special landscape and very clean. We only found two pieces of trash to pick up on the trail and both looked like they were dropped minutes before we got to them. Seeing the granite after a good rain provides nice pools in the granite but also creates a lot of water to cross on the back side of the trail behind the lake. Bring waterproof footwear!

Certainly a beautiful view but not much of a scenic route. Glad I walked it and really enjoyed the view but it’s literally walking a road beyond a gate. I just prefer trails but nothing wrong with this at all.

good trail. if the parking lot is full next to thr trailhead you can park just down tje street but it does add an extra mile coming and going. we just did the lake trail and ended with 5.33 miles total back to the car. just beware. side note: if you are doing the lake trail, when you find the blue marker and head into the woods, just keep going to the open field. the markers in tgis area wander and back track. was very confussing to say rhe least.

Beautiful scenery, short in-and-out trail

Long but fun!

Hiked this trail today from the bottom to the top. Absolutely one of my favorites ever. The stream and waterfalls were rushing because it has basically rained daily for a month. Highly recommend parking at the bottom and hiking up first. Enjoyed a nice lunch at Artzy Cafe after the hike.

A must see!

Great hike with amazing scenery and a beautiful water fall at the end! Was recommended this by a couple of locals while shopping, and glad we went! There is a fee of $3 per person for this area.

not unhappy , just wanted to post that the access road to this hike is closed every year from January 1st till the end of winter. seems a bit under posted.

Easy short trail for a family, walk along creek whole time.

This is an awesome easy hiking trail. Fully paved with some steep grades.

The paper mill ruins are worth the trip. It is amazing to think the stacked stone walls were built over 160 years ago.

Short walk to the falls...great for photos. Trail was very busy and we went in March. There are way too many great trails in this area, so I will go to those before I do this one again. Pretty but not worth a second trip...High Shoals is much better and there are 2 waterfalls. It has a little bit of foot traffic, but NOTHING like Anna Ruby.

Quick hike to see amazing view and a little history lesson.

Love this trail. Easy walk with great visuals.

We came on a Sunday around 11:30am and there were about 5 cars in the lot. The dirt road driving in was a little rough with large pot holes. We were in a small car and it rained the night before so everything wet and hard to judge the depth of the holes but we made it to the parking lot, no issues. The trail was easy to hike and dog friendly. There were multiple waterfalls to see along the trail before you get to the main one. Once you arrive at Hemlock falls there's a trail to the right that goes up and around the falls. This trail leads to the top of the falls. If you keep going and cross the river, that trail leads to another waterfall that's supposedly bigger and better. We werent able to cross due to not having the correct gear on and the water was too high for us. I would guess the water would be up to our hips, so no thanks.

Beautiful waterfalls, especially after heavy rains.

Pretty drive to the falls. Its $3 per person entrance fee and it's a .5 mile hike to the falls. The trail is paved and very busy. There were lots of people with strollers. We had a dog with us but they must stay on 6ft leash or less. The trail dead ends at the two falls. If you want to go farther, you can take the trail to the right of the first observation deck. It's called Smith Creek.

Easy hike, the falls are really beautiful. I would defiantly go back. It’s a nice short hike, so you can squeeze in several short hikes in a day, like Dukes Creek trail as well.

Agree with the other reviews- this trail is longer than stated in the description, but so worth it! Took us ~4 hours including about a 30 minute rest at the summit. Beautiful falls in the beginning and amazing view from the top. We went in late fall and only saw a few other people- this hike is perfect if you are staying in Clayton.

Great, easy trail for families that provides some spectacular scenery.

Great drive up and gorgeous hike! A bit steep in some areas so you’re in for a great calf burn but the falls are totally worth it...beautiful clearing great for family photos or a picnic!
