Once you get into the creek, the hike is more challenging and much more interesting. The climb back into the falls is the toughest and most satisfying part! This hike isn't the easiest, so make sure you're ready for it, and take lots of water with you.

it was a nice little hike but not much water this time plenty of shade and friendly people

Love this trail. Our early am workout in an hour or less. Beautiful!

Overall I enjoyed this trail and would do it again. I did this trail in the summer so there was no waterfall at the end but the place where it would be is still pretty cool. The trail is easy for most of the path and gets moderate towards the end. You follow along a paved/dirt road for probably 2 miles and then you find the trail head. From there you follow along a riverbed for about a mile and a half. The last 1/2 mile of trail is alot of bouldering with quite a bit of incline.

Bring lots of water, I brought 2 liters and ran out about a mile from the parking area.

My favorite place to get a quick hike in. But it is definitely not 5.8 miles, this info should be corrected. 3 miles round trip if you hike from the bottom parking lot and maybe 1 mile if you hike from the top parking lot. Too crowded on the weekends and a bit dangerous with young children and narrow trails. I also wouldn’t call it easy if starting from the bottom, moderate compared to Eaton or Sturtevant Falls.

Beautiful nature views of tree covered mountains, canopying trees over the path (doesn’t interfere with the walk!), & flowers. Waterfall was dry, but beautiful hike :)

it was a solid hike. west side (left) to start. steeper incline. views of ocean. east side gradual descent. more rural. dusty trail so you will get dirty. good footwear recommended. i did it without water at 11 am and 83 degrees. it was fine.

Beautiful!!!

Awwsome hike in to Spruce Grove CG. The campground has a lot of trees so it's great for hammocking. Overall the CG is clean and the outhouses were pretty clean for what they are. I still prefer just digging a cat hole over any outhouse though. There is water at camp (though the water level is low) and should be treated before drinking. Saw a few deer come through camp along with multiple squirrels as well as a small black bear (hanging your food or a bear canister is a must). Also, make sure that you bring bug spray as all of the biting menaces are out in full force.

A fun little trail with a few stream crossings that's easy to get to and easy to follow. The best part is that a majority of the trail is in the shade, perfect for a summer morning hike! Get there early because parking is quite limited and you need an adventure pass.

Challenging but beautiful views and scenery

Great hike Beautiful scenery it was very HOooooT day it got to 111°

A wonderful hike to go on that's local and can take about 30 minutes to get to the top of the summit. Best times to go are the early morning, as there are less people and the sun isn't fully beaming yet. I recommend a good 8am start if not sooner.

Rewarding view of the Pacific and as far as downtown LA! I usually go as far as Skull Rock and then make my way down.

Not at bad hike, just had a lot of hard rocks on the paths where someone may be able to trip and/or twist an ankle. Overall there is a lot of shade and has a gradual incline and all downhill on the back end.

Definitely not easy but a great hike!

Easy hike through nice houses... Disappointed waterfall but then again it's so cal so was expected

One of my favorite hikes. Always nice to be away from the city life. Peaceful! Only bad thing is the trash and graffiti.

Love this trail but gotta go after a heavy rain to see the waterfall in all its glory...and it’s a long hike take plenty of water and good comfortable shoes a lot of climbing over rocks

Such a beautiful view of LA plus a view of the beach! Lots of green trees and shade on the left side of trail. On the right trail is where dogs are allowed. Lots of steps but such a great workout! Only con is you barely get any shade compared to the left side of trail. Also, not a crowded trail which is a major plus!

P.S. parking is $10 but there is some parking across the street.

If you take the trail left or west, you will quickly start an incline for a mile, with little shade, quite a bit of heat, but the most amazing views of the ocean and coastline. If you go right or east, it’s mostly shade, a steady incline, and lots of flora. There is also an amazing breeze. For me, I loved going left, seeing the amazing ocean views and becoming quite overheated, and then enjoying the slow decline under the flora and cool breeze hitting me most of the way back to the parking lots. And there also tables and a green grassy patch for one to have a picnic on the bottom of the right side.

small trail that goes through campground to waterfall

Great trail with some good inclines. We went from east to west and so the steeper grades were on the way down. Nice views once you get up top. Cacti at the lower elevations. I think most go up from the west because you reach the top sooner but I liked the slower inclines. Bring water as it gets hot. Saw lots of birds as well.

Awesome hike if you don't mind climbing over and under rocks and fallen trees. I was really beautiful . You should go early in the morning because it gets really hot. The end was where the water fall is supposed to be. It was a very nice adventure and I do recommend.

loved the hike. my dog loved it as well

awesome hike,i love this hike and do it as often as i can. the pools are great on a hot day like today clear water which makes it a great treat.. one of these days i will fine gold!! lol

What great way to spend a Saturday. Went up to the bridge with the bungie crew. It's a faster pace than we typically hike but they were a great crew a wonderful people. I ended up doing 3 bungie jumps then we took our time coming back to the trailhead. The water crossings were a welcome treat in the heat. Beautiful scenery and great variety in the trail, some boulder passings, sandy stretches and rocky terrain. Worth doing again if I was a local resident.

Good walk, gets the blood flowing and a nice view LA and the beaches! Recommend you go to the left for a steeper climb and more relaxed decent on your ankles!

Love!
