needs a little TLC. fun to do but nothing spectacular.

great trail, gorgeous and fun. Lots of pedestal rocks. An easy moderate trail with great views.

This is nice but heavily travelled with A LOT of people. If you can get to the 'Horse Trail' aka John Muir Trail, you can avoid the long lines going up the Mist Trail. These trails are the 'gateway' to Little Yosemite. Once in Little Yosemite, you can head up Half Dome or Cloud's Rest.

Did this hike in mid December and it was great- some icy patches along the way at the time but navigable in hiking shoes alone. Beautiful view from the top of the falls!

One of the most beautiful trails I've been on. Took the trail less traveled, went to the end of the bluff, climbed down to the river, hiked the river on Old River Trail, climbed out to the homestead on Sneeds Creak trail, and made it back up. Was total about 10-10.5 miles.

It's a nice enough trail, with plenty of great views of the lake, but it also basically runs through several backyards (or at least close enough to the houses that you feel like you're in their backyard) and a few of them make it apparent that your presence isn't necessarily appreciated. Though, that was just my takeaway, so your mileage may vary on how worthwhile the trail is.

Short but sweet. Pretty much in my backyard. Glad people have been working on the trails recently.

Fabulous views for a relatively short hike

This trail is super easy to follow. The view is breathtaking! You think it ends but it doesn’t! It’s about a 6mile bike there and back.

January is a great time to go. We passed only four hikers.

Great views, great hike! Not a ideal hike if you’re afraid of heights like me!

We went up to Nevada falls via the Mist Trail and then looped back down the John Muir switchbacks. If you like to hike you must do this - it’s beautiful and rewarding. I love this hike. We went when the falls were just thundering and we were soaked so be prepared for that possibility depending on how Vernal falls is running. If you’re in Yosemite and have not done this hike just do it you will not regret it! Spectacular views.

The area is nice I’ve taken his trail twice now thinking I’ve missed something but no I didn’t the trail is not well marked once you get down To the creek the trail disappears good thing I had my phone we found it again and it just keeps disappearing I do not recommend this trail go down to Ponca Arkansas trails a lot better maintained and marked

Beautiful hike. Will do this one again. Only a couple steep areas and a few water crossings after rains.

Great little hike with great views. Lots of recent rain so be prepared for some mud and water but still very doable. Only four stars because of all the people.

Nice trail. Took my twelve year old. It was a challenge for him, glad I didn’t take my 6 year old. I wouldn’t mind doing it again sometime.

Awesome trail amazing views

This trail was the high light of our weekend, the hawksbill crag at the end was well worth the walk and the views are simple breathtaking, BUT there are some minor set backs, there was probably 40 - 60 cars in the parking lot which meant the trail was gonna be busy, so kinda crowded for when we went, also the county road into the trailhead is nearly 6 miles of very steep gravel road, please don't have any trouble with your brakes on your vehicle because it could lead to an interesting ride down on the way out, all and all great trail and worth the drive

I love this trail! Beautiful lake spot for great meditating. It is closed today (1/5) due to current hunting season. Anyone know when it opens again?

The most beautiful trail In the state. One of my favorite places to be.

The two bluff trails are pretty unique as far I know and the scenery even on a rainy winter day is great. The trail is well maintained and easy to follow.

JM trail was closed so we couldn't do the loop in mid october. Ended up doing out and back on the mist, still a great hike. Definitely one of the more popular trails in the valley, so be prepared for lots of traffic on trail.

We did this hike in mid-December. While cold on the valley floor, we quickly warmed up with both the elevation gain and increased exposure to the sun. Really busy at the base of the hike but thins out as different path options are made available. Beautiful views of the valley and two legendary waterfalls. Great places to stop for lunch or enjoy a beer. Easy to follow, although we weren't able to do the full loop due to trail closures from rockfall risk.

Challenging hike but the views are worth it. I'd definitely like to check it out in the Spring. Trail got pretty busy on the way down so start early.

Great view from overlook. We've had some good rain and there were several nice and unexpected streams.

Hiked to the end of the Goat Trail today with hubby and 3 kids (14, 8, and 6). Yes, it could be dangerous if you don’t watch your children, but be responsible and stay safe. I certainly wouldn’t say “not for kids.” Maybe not all kids, but if you have an active family,it’s worth the effort. Everyone enjoyed the hike and the views at the end of Goat Trail. The hike out is uphill as all the reviews state, but I’d rather hike uphill than down, so I prefer it this way. Giving it 4 stars because there are some places that are really muddy, and there isn’t a lot to look at the first couple of miles. We walked to the trailhead from our cabin, so we went close to 7 miles total. Even the 6 year old said it was worth it!

Awesome trail that is almost completely uphill out and downhill back. This is a do not miss hike when in Yosemite. The views get better and better as you go. Completed it over New Years so it was a little icy on the stairs by the top of the falls but there is a little side route to avoid the ice if you need.

Great trail! We got a lot of cool photos, explored the underneath cliffs, and enjoyed the weather. The trail is very wet so bring shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.

One of my favourite local trails! It’s got some hills and connects to the larger loop so I can be a little more aggressive if I choose, or make it a quick stop if I have a spare 30 minutes. It is moderately used by both hikers, often with dogs, and cyclists, so be aware of your surroundings. Deducting a star because the land owner refuses to replace the bridge connecting the North Loop with the parking area. When the water is high you’re gonna get wet and that’s all there is to it.
