Beautiful walk around tidal marsh. With lots of nature to observe. Very unique as you are near planes, trains, and automobiles! Can also see Philly skyline in the distance.

Wish trail was marked a little better. Backside of trail is dirt so can get a little muddy if it’s rained recently.

I just returned from a very upsetting hike at Pulpit Rock. I can only hope the people involved will see this and choose to reach out, although I realize it's highly unlikely.

I reached the rock with my leashed dog to find a large group of people with about 10+ unleashed dogs. They all came circling back and forth around me and my pet and one dog began to growl and attacked my dog causing several lacerations on her face and eye area.

I should have stayed and gotten information from the people at fault, but I was far too upset, didn't want to risk further injury to my pet, and knew i had to make it down nearly 2 miles to take my dog to the vet. As a responsible pet owner, I am fed up with people's inability to follow the law and leash their pets on this trail.

Everyone thinks their dog is too well behaved to need a leash, but the rules are in place for a reason. I just incurred a hefty bill and nightmare afternoon that could have been avoided had this group of people simply kept their pets leashed.

The hike itself is wonderful, but the popularity of this site means there are many, many people there. Today it was my dog that was attacked, but next time it could be a person or child. Unfortunately, I no longer feel safe hiking this trail due to the entitled nature of those who frequent it.

If anyone was present today, please contact me at chaye405@gmail.com. I did not get any information from the people involved.

Love the temperature. 50°F. Did not like all the rocks. Tried to run down the hill and hurt my ankle. There were Many dogs, I love that! Good view at the top, but only trees and rocks everywhere else. Did not see any wild animals. Disappointed. Over all a good hike, though!

Definitely recommended for families and friends. Moderate hike

Nice place.... lots of birds... nice walk... bring binoculars and bug spray! Boardwalk is nice too!

The map shows a second crossing of the creek but in order to cross, you'd have to go through the water. We ended up crossing about a half a mile up from the original crossing. I've posted two pics showing where we crossed. Beginning and end of the hike is on the road. Overall an okay hike but it was pretty muddy a few days after a week of rain. Horses are also on the trail so watch your step!

Not a super challenging hike, but perfect for a fall afternoon. The view from Pulpit Rock makes this hike worth the 5 stars.

Nice trail - moderate difficulty, nice variation in terrain. Our 7 and 9 year old were pretty tired after doing the large orange loop in 2h 20m. We parked at the Alpine St lot - we got the last spot at 10am on a Sunday, but there's plenty of street parking if you need. Trails are well marked, but Alltrails with GPS definitely helps - we didn't have to double back once. Not much in the way of views except when you reach the powerlines, but lots of nice rock formations, streams and wildlife.

Go in the morning on a weekday, and you'll nearly have this area to yourself! Enjoy the many moods of Lake Michigan, great views of the city, and plenty of swamp and water birds

Love this trail!!

Great hike! Not too steep. Great views once at the top. Watch out for snakes!

Absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommend for beginners

Well marked trail with much to see. Downloading a map would be a good idea as there are a lot of options. The boulders are awesome. Today was muddy due to all the rain.

Rivals the outer loop at Trexler Preserve as the best hike in the immediate Lehigh Valley area. Mix and match various loops to suit your schedule and energy level. Provides a welcome escape from urban noise and traffic ten minutes from Allentown. Use is light, though not sparse. Expect encounters with friendly mountain bikers. Especially nice in the late afternoon/early evening.

Great place to go birding. Definitely will come back, very peaceful!

Great for a quick bike ride. Takes less than 1 hour to complete the 6.0 mile loop. the terrain is mostly flat with some gradule slopes and one slightly larger hill near the nature center. There are lots of people with dogs, people fishing, kayaking, running, biking, etc. This one takes the 5 stars not because of the difficulty, but because of the scenery and because is is very well maintained.

on Pulpit Rock

Love the hike. It starts as an easy walk on the wooded trail. The last half mile or so got a bit challenging with very rocky uphill hike. However it’s very well marked and nicely maintained. We got soaked by a heavy thunderstorm while admiring the view from Pulpit Rock. We took the gravel road down. It’s not quite as shady so the lingering rain was nice. Will definitely take the hike again and probably go to Pinnacle after.

Love this loop

perfect little local trail

Very nice trail, and easy to moderate hike. The orange loop was only 1.7 miles as indicated by the map at the site. The trail was well maintained, got into some deep woods, even seeing a wood thrush on her nest not far from the trail. Only downsides were you could hear a shooting range nearby, and consistent highway sounds, if that's the sort of thing that bothers you. At mid morning on a Saturday we ran into several people, but the trail was by no means crowded. Google maps first took us to a residential street as a place to park (talked to a resident who said that gets annoying), but there's a convenient parking lot at the end of Alpine street.

Considering it’s just a few miles outside of the city it’s an amazing place to get away and go for a 3 mile walk or so. Actually ended up going fishing one time and had a great experience. Beautiful place to visit

I love the paved trail around the lake. Plenty of docks to get out on the water. Trail is sometimes tight with high traffic walkers and bikers. Always beautiful photo opps. Decent nature hike trails weaving through the woods too. Plenty of geocaches to find. Be sure to check out the peace valley lavender farm across the street. They have a gift shop and lavender usually blooms in June.

Excellent trail. Heavily wooded, a really fun place to run. Pretty easy to follow the courses, some of the forks should be marked better but I found the way without having to double back. There are some obstacles on the path, manageable rocks and tree trunks to run over, but that is exactly what I am looking for in a more technical trial run.

This is a very good beginners path for biking.

not well marked or maintained. fallen trees blocking the paths.

good variation and scenic walk with my dog.

Fun little trail. Did it two days in a row for a walk with the pup. Lower portion is narrow and slightly overgrown (not horrible though) and the back elevated portion is wider and more open. Neat to see the large boulder outcropping. Didn’t venture back the red or blue trails but will next time. Pup loved the spring fed stream. Nice to have a quick little loop trail so close to home.
