Great short run — steep, rolling hills and really steep — everything you need.

We went up today and it was beautiful. Be prepared for lots of snow on the upper trail! I had my yak tracks but others on the trail did not and had to turn around before the falls. The last .5 is steep! My legs and lungs were burning but it’s so worth it to see the falls in snow and with less people than summer.

Quick loop with about 1500ft of vertical of climbing. Currently the trail is 90% dry. Little mud towards the top.

Steep and quick. Nice little workout in under and hour. Decent payoff for the amount of work

Solid workout, great views!

Short but semi steep trail. Very popular. Great spot to watch sunset over SL valley. Trail was dry. Dog friendly trail, with many friendly dogs. Street parking at trail head with 3 hour limit. Should be plenty of time for this trail.

The last mile or so of the trail still has packed snow, making the hike down a little slippery. I didn't have spikes and managed fine with good hiking shoes and a wooden stick I found near the trail =). The first and last parts of the trail will get your legs burning, but the view at the end is totally worth it. There's plenty of beautiful spots along the trail to stop and rest and enjoy the beauty.

Went up yesterday, still snow/slush on the last bit, tricky on the way down without spikes but doable. A great short but intense hike.

I hiked this trail a couple of times last year (2017) just lovely views and a feeling of accomplishment, specially if have to do it with a bunch of wining kids!! But overall I loved it!! Can’t wait to do it again!!

Great hike, you can reach the top within an hour or so and hop back down. Trail was dry.

Hiked in the rain. Nice and easy. The dog loved it. Recommend dry months, you walk in a river bed for a minute

Hiked this trail with my two kids last week, my five year old did great. this Trailhead is a little bit steeper than the Granite trail head that also leads to Bell Canyon reservoir but it was still a nice Trail. The reservoir water line is still low as of last Sunday; leaving the lower Creek bed dry, but this means you can easily hike around the reservoir without getting your feet wet. It is also not stocked for fishing yet from what I heard from other hikers.

Very easy short jaunt with lots to explore. Follow the river - check our our vlog of our experience: https://youtu.be/87H0n_bKshU

I love this trail! We hiked Easter weekend. It is well marked now with signs to the lower falls. This is a heavily traveled trail. There is still snow and ice throughout the trail between the lake and the falls. Ice spikes/cleats are strongly suggested.

Quick hike but a good workout! The view at the top is always nice too!

I love going up the side of the mountain for a good challenge. The trails all seem to lead to the same place but aren't marked. Beautiful view

I did this trail in February and it was cold enough to have gorgeous ice on the falls, but warm enough that the trail was either slushy, or super icy. I was so glad I had my spikes to hike the gorgeous last section that was steeper and so slippery. The trail did not feel stressful at all until I braved walking closer to the falls and then I took it very slow, but it was definitely doable. Here is my blog post if you want to see pictures. http://shaunasadventures.blogspot.com/2018/02/i-did-this-hike-first-week-in-february.html?m=1

It’s a quick jaunt. Still a little muddy and slick in some places.

Steep first .4 miles. Fairly nice walk around the lake. Some snow on north facing trials. Overall a very pleasant hike.

Pretty steep trail and very muddy which made it slippery.

Very steep. Went a few days ago and is currently covered in snow and some ice. This hike is basically you climbing the entire time until you reach the lake and then climbing back down. Would not recommend toddlers due to steep stairs and ice. The lake was semi frozen but still beautiful. Gave my thighs a workout for sure.

This is the steeper but shorter trailhead. It’s less popular so I have found it easier to get parking.

Great hike with amazing views of the Valley. Great workout and worth making it all the way to the top.

Still muddy. Gorgeous view. I expected natural rock formations as the furniture but it’s stacks of rocks in the form of chairs. A bit steep. Definitely a moderate trail.

Love this hike. It's very rewarding, steep and strenuous. Great workout! There was hardly any snow last week amd we didn't use spikes.

The headlamp hike to Jacks Mt last weekend was good. I love the tributes at the summit. Heart warming stuff. I decided to proceed to the to the ridge line behind to the east. WORST MILE EVER. I ran out of deer trails altogether and found out that rocks are hard and shins are softer. My own mistake. Socked in at the top so no payoff. I'll turn around after summiting Jacks next time.

trail is dry now. 2.14.18

Spectacular views ever improving as you're always gaining altitude. I couldn't get to the Upper Falls because of heavy ice and snow, but the trek up to the Lower Falls was rewarding enough: beautiful scenery all the way through. Best thing about hiking up there in the winter: no crowds. Truly worth it!

The weather was perfect today, we hung around the reservoir for a while before heading up to the falls. It is so beautiful up there. The ice made for a difficult climb to the falls. We were forced to turn back about a half mile before the falls because the ice was too slick for my 5 year old to safely climb. we slipped and fell several times coming down, but overall it was awesome. We did this last year when my son was 4, and he made it to the top without any problems, so I wouldn't consider this as rated hard. It is a steady incline all the way up, but it's not bad.

So good! Awesome view and “seating” at the “living room”!!!
