Beautiful views of the Bay and grazing cows. Best to go early to avoid the heat...even during the Spring.

Picturesque hike! Wow.

During snowy conditions, Yaktrax shoe chains are definitely worth it, as it gets pretty icy! You can by them for ~ $25 in the shop in Curry Village.

Great hike, especially in the winter when it's not too hot as there isn't a lot of shade. Green hills and cows grazing on the hillside. Muddy due to the recent rains.

Incredible!! Only did the first two miles to beach, full of gorgeous views the whole way. You can continue up to a waterfall an additional 1.8 miles from the beach. Any further along the trial and you need a permit to continue. We reached the parking lot at 830 and there was plenty of room in the farther second lot, but this fills up fast and people start parking along the road. Bathrooms at the trailhead and the beach at 2 miles. Several stream crossings but able to stay dry with balancing. Recommend hiking shoes or waterproof hiking sandals with straps, though saw plenty doing it in sneakers. Nice to get out early but also be sure to catch some views post noon on the way back, as the light changes and water turns a beautiful azure blue.

Great easy hike for the weekend! Great views of the bridge.

This was a great trail would definitely recommend it.

One of the best hikes I have been on. Most of the reviews and you tube videos are pretty misleading about the dangers. Crawlers ledge is not a big deal. At no point did I feel like I was in much danger. Yeah if you fall it would be bad but honestly by the time you get there (mile 7, 8 or 9 not sure) you have pretty well been tested. Just keep your eyes on the trail as you go and stop walking if you want to look around. The river crossings were not a big deal either. I know that can change but just do what the signs say. If it’s really muddy and fast looking don’t cross. If the river is moving rocks (you would hear) don’t cross. I feel like people make a big deal about that stuff more to seem extreme or daring than to warn people. No body wants to see anyone get hurt. Be smart but don’t let the dangers stop you from going. It is an extremely rewarding experience. It would be even more so if you were scared of those things and did it anyway. The thing that surprised me about the hike was how hard it was. I have done some 20 to 25 mile days before so we thought about doing it in one day but decided we wanted to camp at the beach. Good thing to because by the time we got there we were ready to call it. I don’t know if it was the humidity or the constant up and down but it was a hard 11 miles. I saw some people recommended staying at the camp at six miles. If you have 3 or 4 days and your worried about the difficulty that’s probably a good idea. Take two weeks if you need to. It would be worth it.

I’ve done this hike without snow & ice & its totally different. Still a great hike, but icy/snowy & slippery in spots. Especially past the base of Vernal Falls. See pics :)

As mentioned, great workout hike. Easy to find TH and not a ton of parking. Trail was in good condition and lots of green rolling hills. At first the elevation isnt too bad however by mile 2 you will be sweating. I took the Gossip Rock Spur. I didnt see many people at the top however once you come down trail gets super busy

Nice trail even in winter. Yosemite in March is awesome.

Absolutely beautiful! As the previous reviews say, the beginning of the hike is vigorous for roughly 1.5 miles but stunning! I took my dog and she did great, there are a fair amount of stairs so going down was a little harder on her but other than that very dog friendly! We arrived at 7:30am and we're the first hikers out there but by the time we were done 4 hours later the trail/parking area was swamped so head out early and enjoy this beautiful hike by beating the crowd!

Hardly saw anyone else on the trail on a weekend! If you are looking for solitude highly recommend this trail.

Views of Fremont, mission peak, Sunol peak. Trails are not well maintained like other regional parks but it not easy to get lost.

Spent a leisurely 6 days (Feb 2018) there and back doing all side and waterfall trails. Take your time to enjoy the views. Caught a break with little rain but trail had been closed for several days prior to our start which made for awesome waterfalls but very muddy and slippery conditions

Fantastic views, muddy in wintertime, nur worth it. Long and exhausting because of the high humidity. Crawlers Ledge is not difficult at all.

My wife and I hiked around 3 miles along the trail before we headed back. The trail is beautiful with plenty of vista points along the way.

I started the trail from Saratoga Toll Road Trail (to the left) because through Indian trail it said no trespassing. Most of the trail goes through forest and the crossroads sometimes did get very confusing, because of no markings and they were not in my map. At the end of the trail it said you need to sight up somewhere, but there were no papers or anything; behind the fence it said you need a permission to go through from the park... very confusing. Overall it might be a nice trail for people who like to hike in forest, but nothing too entertaining for me, and confusing with no markings and that private property.

LOVE it!! Go early in the morning though.

Went early on Sunday morning, 3/4. Take the unmarked trail to the left of the trailhead sign to go directly to Castle Rock. Didn't seem worth it to me, but to each their own. Some snow on the ground from yesterday's storm, with the sun melting snow in the trees. Wasn't expecting rain! Once I got to the falls I didn't need my raincoat. Despite the rain from yesterday, the falls were just more than a dribble. Nice hike on the Saratoga Gap side, but the Ridge trail gave much better views. It was more difficult with roots, steeper climbs, and boulders/rocks on the path, but worth it. Took me 3.5 hours with a lunch break. Nice area just west of Goat Rock to have a picnic. I hope to come back one day to do the Skyline to the Sea hike. Love having a wooded trail this close to home!

Beautiful trail, with a few rocks to casually climb and get hidden gorgeous views:)
Trail itself is well maintained.

Great hike, lots of climbing but its worth it. Finding a parking spot is little challenging on busy weekends but not bad!

Simply the most beautiful hike close to a major US metro in my opinion.

Oh my goodness. This was my first trail at Yosemite and it was incredible. You can’t beat the view from the top of Nevada Falls. Definitely recommend this hike! Just make sure you pack plenty of water!

Many ups and downs. Great mountain views. Fun to watch rock climbing and bouldering.

Stunning the entire way!! Did this July of 2016. First: DO NOT let reviews scare you about Crawler’s Ledge! Could be a bit unnerving if you have a true fear of heights I suppose but really exhilarating otherwise. Second: Be sure to allow a few days to explore the valley before heading back! Would be a shame to miss that experience!

Great hike! Beautiful views!

Easy loop, great view, best to go on a weekday though if you can.

Wet nice spot to hike, the views are incredible at some points, there is a look out deck about 2 miles in, and if u go a little further, there’s a huge rock on the edge of the cliff if ur brave enough to climb and sit and take an amazing photo..definitely would return here.

This is the most amazing trail. You get to hike right next to the water fall, which is beautiful, but prepared to get VERY wet! The steps going up the waterfall are very slippery, so you need shoes with good traction. Also, I would call this trail difficult rather than moderate. Many people were turning back half way up. Definitely worth it though!!
