Our family of 4 completed this hike today and loved it (about 3.5 hours including a 20 min lunch). It wasn't very difficult, very pretty and the return trail on the lollipop was definitely our favorite. The falls have a unique look which was very nice. The round trip distance with my GPS watch was 6.87 miles from the trailhead. Also you must get a day pass from town, you can't get it at the trailhead. Loved it!

Prepare to get wet! Fantastic hike along and in a creek. Beautiful scenery as you hike through a canyon, climb over a huge log jam and wade through the water to reach a cascading waterfall at the end of your hike. Highly recommend!

Great hike. more than we expected but Ramona Falls was worth it!

Pleasant hike but very crowded. The drive up after turning off the highway was quite a bit longer than I expected and very winding, with some potholes and most of it being single lane it was a little nerve wracking for me. I arrived right after 11am on a Thursday and the lot was completely full. About ten cars showed up right behind me and all just parked along the side of the road. Seems to be one of our local “hotspots” with need for permits in the near future. Bathrooms at the parking lot were indescribably filthy. I’m a nurse and I dry heaved... then practically bathed in hand sani. Would not recommend for a peaceful, quiet hike through nature due to the crowding. Great hike to go be out with friends/family, it’s not super hard, the bridge was cool, and some people were swimming around the waterfall at the end.

We went left which is the what I would consider the easiest way to go up so you can loop down near the sandy river and avoid going uphill as much.

Great hike not too hard and the bridge is amazing

3rd time I’ve been here. The 1hr 40min drive is very well worth it from where I live. The trail is in really good condition as is the parking lot & restrooms. 2.2 mile hike labeled as easy which is accurate. Today’s water was turquoise, and it was beautiful.

Easy gradual hike. Flies were annoying but the bridge was worth it. Parking was full on a Monday afternoon.

Tuesday early afternoon, we saw about 15 people total, which is more than I'm used to on other trails. Everyone was super polite and we still got to the lake and enjoyed it solo for almost 45 minutes, which was a real treat. Not as many bugs as expected, very clear and easy hike. Definitely a good starter trail or hike with kids. Only a short part vaugely close to a drop off but the trail is wide and it's not directly adjacent the trail.

Great hike amazing waterfall at the end.

Not very picturesque. Very long and not entirely safe. There is a water crossing that I wouldn't bring kids or animals through.

Great hike! Falls are gorgeous! Took 2.3 hours. total hike from parking up and around the loop. Going “right” at beginning of trail loop starts you on a steady uphill, not too steep, climb. Enjoy the falls while swatting flies, then downhill all the way back to parking lot. MapMyRun said 8.4 mile for me round trip from parking lot. Crossed river on stable logs

Suspension bridge, waterfall, dense forest... LOVE!
Elevation gain was about 728 feet combined. Not very steep at all at its "worse." Took my 75 year old father and he did fine for being an inactive person.

on June Lake Trail

Beautiful views of the mountain and stream. June Lake is pretty to look at, but it is not a lake; it's the little cousin of a pond. Not great for hammock camping if you need relatively specific distances between trees for your tarp, and don't plan on even getting your shins cooled down in the "lake". Great day hike if you just want to see some views though!

Fun and fairly flat trail for kids with a beautiful waterfall at each end!

Great hike with a wonderful waterfall! Views of Mt Hood were outstanding. I was a little worried about crossing the Sandy River but the water level was fairly low. We crossed on a log which spanned the river. It was a fairly gradual uphill to the waterfall- mostly downhill on the way back to the parking lot.
I highly recommend taking the Ramona Creek loop trail. The views of the creek and the vegetation were beautiful.

Great family hike filled with a ton of nature (we spotted a snake, chipmunk, millipede & an assortment of birds). The suspension bridge at the end is the highlight and a pretty neat experience.

trail running

Google maps took us from Hood River, up over the ranges to get to the trail head. This required driving up some gravel/dirt roads with large potholes.

Several 4 wheels drives urged us to turn back, but we persevered. Fortunately we did not get wedged on top of the mountain and made to up to the start of the trail.

I would recommend taking the highway if you do not have something at least as big as an SUV.

The trail itself was quite good. A gradual incline the whole way up to the falls. Challenging to run, with some narrow sections where it is difficult to pass walkers, without pausing and waiting.

Easy decent. The waterfall is impressive in height, but lacking in water at this time of year. With no swimming hole at the base.

Dog friendly.

A nice, easy, well maintained trail if you want a break from beach activities on coast. Waterfall and suspension bridge at end of trail very unique and there is some good rock scrambling for the kids (optional at end of hike). Trail is well graded so really no serious uphill hiking. Access road to trailhead is long and narrow - but paved, so a big plus - a nice drive through forest.

Easy hike, elevation gain is very minimal. Great views along various points of the trail. Glacial river was low this time of year. Would recommend going when the glacial river is high if you want a more adventurous river crossing and hike.

Beautiful falls!! I would recommend going clockwise to the falls and probably going back that same way. It follows the creek, and has more shade, so it is cooler. Also I think the insects are lighter. I hiked the full loop at the end of July and killed ALOT of flies that landed on me. The insects dust seem to be as bad on the way back down along the creek though.

Such a great trail to a gorgeous waterfall! We were one of only about ten or so cars when we arrived at 10:00 am so we had the trail pretty much to ourselves. The Sandy River crossing was not a problem— there’s a sturdy log with another one nearby to hold on to. Gorgeous view of Mt Hood from the crossing! My friend and I went the “long way” (stayed to the north side of the lollipop) both ways because it was shadier on this hot day. It brought our mileage up a bit, but we stayed cooler. I’m definitely coming back!

This is a great family trail. I took my daughter and her best friend, both 14. We had a great time. The trail is well taken care of and it is a very peaceful hike. The bridge is great! Perfect multiple view photo opportunity for subjects or the falls. When you make it down to the bottom be sure to explore. It is worth climbing around and getting your feet wet. Depending on your timing you can walk right up next to the bottom of the falls and get soaked in a heartbeat by the spray.

As a follow up to Katie Holts review yesterday. We went at 10am and there was maybe 5 bees the whole way. So don’t let that review deter you unless you are going later in the day maybe?

This is a wonderful hike. Took a 4,6 and 9 year old. The 4 year old was whining pretty good most of the way back but we made it.

Very enjoyable hike. Log made the river crossing easy. FYI... flys got really bad about half way up!! If you stop you’ll get swarmed. More of a nuisance then anything else. Falls where beautiful and super refreshing.
