great trial . hard climb. good exercise

Beau parcours !!

Nice Trail easy to follow! Beautifull forest i recomend,

Very buggy, had to jog a few parts because they were so bad! Trail was nice, fairly easy but could be a bit bumpy for a stroler. Also my car window got smashed while we were hiking and things were taken from my backseat so that really sucked, but the hike itself was nice.

Beautiful park, with different trails to choose from.

Good trail but it is best to go left at the fork to give yourself a good challenge and save the view/lookout for last. We did it the opposite way and thus it was mostly downhill!

This was a beautiful walk through the woods and a long gradual climb. As mentioned before, there weren't any other viewpoints on the trail, but the scenery was amazing all the way up regardless (forests, creeks, ponds, cliffs etc.) We spotted a couple of beavers as well. Recommended!

Very poorly marked trails! Had two girls see us and they said they were lost. Thought nothing of it. Till I went to east down, ended up on a dangerous cliff and had to get 911 to help us.

I loved this trail. Not busy at all on a weekday mid-day. We got to see beavers and beautiful cascades on the way. The landscapes change all the time, which made it interesting. Beautiful little spot on top to have lunch. Worth it!

A favourite for a good workout and beautiful when the falls are active. Recommend doing the loop portion counter-clockwise because the descents are safer that direction. Good training for hiking in the Appalachians!

Je l’ai adoré!

47 degrees today but still a lovely walk!

Bad direction ... no direction at all !

It’s a very nice trail with a cool limestone kiln. The lookout wasn’t as good as the pictures made it seem but it was very pretty. If you move at a good clip the bugs are not much of a problem. The paths alternate between one person wide and uneven path to five people wide and wood chips which makes for interesting changes to the scenery. Would definitely go recommend.

Great views!

très beau sentier, bien entretenu et bien balisé, terrain de racines et de roches permettant un beau défi de hiking, peu frequenté

Great loop trail with lots of rocky outcroppings with views of the surrounding hills , river, lake, and Ottawa skyline in the distance.

La vue une fois arrivé est à couper le souffle.

The view is fantastic!!

Nice hike with a fairly easy climb. It’s long but the payoff is amazing.

Trail closed along the east side of the lake, presumably due to poison ivy along the trail.

Great views of Ottawa valley

Starts easy and gets tougher as you go so the arrival at the top is rewarding. The view is really nice and spreads really far, you can see Montréal’s olympic stadium from there. There’s enough room so you could easily enjoy a little lunch with a view around the chickadees. My advice would be to get there early. As I started hiking down at 11AM, a lot of people were coming up.

Very poorly marked. Very unsafe if you lose the trail which is very easy to do.

We hiked it with the dogs on the Victoria Day holiday. Description here is quite accurate. Nice trail with a waterfall and a scenic hill top view. A little something for everyone. Had an easy time with the dogs.

A serious hike for the ottawa region. The nicest part of the hike is the first 2/3 when you are walking near the waterfall and scrambling up the rocks. However, you can continue on towards the fire tower. That's ok but a bit anti-climatic.

A negative of the trail is that the signage towards the fire tower is a bit poor. You have to cross the stream and it isn't as obvious as it should be.

Another negative is that we went on the Victoria Day weekend and it was crazy busy. I have never seen a trail this busy in Gatineau Park - and that includes the main trails in the park during the Thanskgiving weekend. The sheer volume of people takes one star away from the trail. Otherwise I would probably rank it 5 stars as it was quite varied and interesting.

Did the whole jack pine trail in 52 min. Pretty well groomed and easy for all types of hikers, families included. Mosquitos are kind of aggressive near the boardwalk but if you move at a decent rate you should be fine. Nice trail
