Beautiful lake and there is a waterfall to stop at on the way up. Trail is fairly steep but well worth it!

Good hike with kids. As with all AZ hikes, bring water! There were bees at the summit when I was there so watch out. The "caves" aren't really caves. But its fun anyway.

One of my favorite trails in the Great Burn! I love walking through the giant cedar groves. You’ll earn it as you climb to Hub Lake in the second mile - a good deal of incline. But lots of huckleberries if you time it right! Bugs were present at the lake but the breeze and some bug spray mostly kept them at bay. Don’t miss out on this one!

Fun trail! Not a moderate hike in my opinion, more on that easier side. There is a gate entry fee of $7.

Good hike with some neat waterfalls along the way. Pretty steep in some parts but overall not terrible. The upper lake (hub) is definitely worth the extra half mile up. Clear water lakes perfect for a quick dip. Over all enjoyable as a nice day hike.

Scenic trail that wasn't hard even with an overnight pack. I shared the trail with elderly and children.

The skeeters at Hub Lake are thick and hungry; otherwise a great adventure.

Beautiful day, waterfalls, lakes, good incline, shade and sun, couldnt have had a better hike today! Wandering around the lakes was worth adding the extra mileage! Mosquitos were terrible at Hub but great campsites! This is now one of my favs!!

Doable for experienced kids ages 7+, but there are some sketchy areas to cross, and the trail is very steep in sections. The view is totally worth it, and the water is refreshing! No fish were biting on our trip, but 3-4 groups climbing after us had their gear along also.

Out and back was about three hours, including 40 mins or so enjoying the view.

Pretty steep on the way up, but every foot of this trail is beautiful and majestic! When you get to the lake, you will not be disappointed. And yes, there are fish up there!

The road in is good, and the trail is short to one amazing alpine lake. Enjoy!

If you like rock scrambling, continue on past the wind cave! Very fun but definitely some climbing

Hiked this on 6/6/18. What a gorgeous lake and surrounding mountains! The road to the trailhead is nice, I think it's maybe been recently fixed. There is no snow on the trail, and the lake is beautiful with some ice still floating around. The trail is definitely steep and there is quite a bit of rock scrambling up towards the top(more than I thought there would be) but it's soooo worth it. Mountain goats frequent the area all the time. We saw hair all along the trail. We only saw 3 up on the mountainside though. We had the whole place to ourselves. It's amazing.

The wind cave itself was an interesting feature but if you want to make the most of this hike then go past the cave and up to the summit. It does not take much longer and the views were amazing!! I don’t know why other people don’t do this.

DO NOT follow the “getting there” directions (do not turn left down chihuahua or go down any dirt road), just keep following the original road all the way down to the fire station, and park at the information center. Trail is on THE SAME SIDE OF THE ROAD as the fire station on the right hand side when facing the building, NOT the side of the road with the info center and PCT sign. Also keep in mind this route approaches the rock formation from behind, so be on the look out for the trail split once you hit 3.2 miles! Be sure to bring plenty of water, direct sun is a killler for 2/3 of the way there/back.

Eagle rock itself was super cool!! There isn't much shade cover on this trail, so next time I'd try not to go on a really hot and sunny day. The trail was pretty empty when we went.

The eagle stone itself is pretty awesome. The hike is rated moderate but it was pretty easy in 85 degree weather. FYI, there's absolutely no shade starting from the half way point to eagle stone so bring lots of water.

There is nothing moderate about this hike. Lots of people all the time. It seems people stay here overnight. If you want to enjoy this hike, go there at night in the Summer. Otherwise early morning. If you do not stop to rest or drink water this is a great workout.

Very well-maintained trail, hard to get lost. The first 2/3rd you'll have some shade. The last third is straight exposure through grassland. The approach is behind the rock formation so it doesn't look like anything special. Got warned by a rattlesnake chillen by the rocks, so be cautious. Really easy hike.

Easy up and back. Sadly, not worth the $7 entry fee. We were super excited about this hike, but were slightly disappointed once we reached the “cave”. Left much to be desired ...

Great hike. Was a little unclear where the trail was in places/where the trail actually ended...? But besides that was great trail with awesome views! Would recommend for people of all skill levels (the end is a bit tough for all levels but could just stop before the end).

Great trail for a nice quick hike. It does get a little tricky once you go passed the maintained trails though so proceed with caution.

Fun easy well maintained trail. That starts in shaded oak trees then breaks out into a plains area with a cool rock formation at the end. Nice scenery only a few people. Saw pretty good size coyote in the mid of the day

A must see up close !

Was such a great hike!! We got hiking a bit late (close to 9am) so it got pretty hot, but was a very enjoyable hike. There was even a rattlesnake up at the top and we got to witness a squirrel-rattlesnake stand-off.. pretty cool! the squirrel won XD All around a really great hike!

Hiked this trail with my dog earlier today and it was great. Trail starts off in a forest section with shade and a stream. You can get a view of some cows along the way as well. Trail then opens up to expansive views throug yt? out a valley that eventually leads to Eagle Rock. Not much shade here. Met some interesting people along the way including a group of guys from Australia do the PCT. All in all, this trail has everything. Easy trail and well maintained. Will definitely be back!
