Great hike, definitely didnt feel like a 6 miler. Easy and fun, plus we saw birds and deer and climbed on the rocks for a while.

Nice trail and not busy at all this time of year. Completed yesterday and the views at the top are well worth the short hike up. Icy in some areas but you don't really need spikes if you just tread carefully around the icy areas. I took them just in case but never used them.

Great trail! Nice and steady incline all the way to the top. Hiked this 12/9, leave your snow shoes in the car, this hike is totally doable with just yaktraks

The trail was great yesterday! Partly snow covered but not difficult to manage at all. Views are killer. Wasn’t too busy either.

Today the view was spectacular. The trail to the summit was 1/2 dry and 1/2 covered with a light dusting of dry snow that was crunchy but not sloppy or icy at all. The snow was less than 1/2” deep.

We hiked with a five and ten year old with light snow on the ground and it was awesome.

I really enjoyed this trail. I'm from florida, didn't need spikes uphill, buy used hiking sticks downhill.

Did this hike 11/30/18, started around 10 am. Was beautiful. Spikes and poles were helpful to about St Mary lake. Went a little further but snowshoes definitely are recommended for heading up any further. I will definitely be back with my snowshoes!

Absolutely beautiful hike. I went early Friday morning and had the trail / glacier all to myself. I was glad I had my spikes and hiking poles. I was able to get quite a ways up the glacier. Snowshoes would have been helpful toward the top.

Beautiful. Trail is packed down at this time. Microspikes are helpful but probably safe without them. Beautiful.

Icy in spots but clear path overall; wore traction going down. Beautiful trail

Great moderate hike. Not much snow today. took about 2 hours including a break at the top and I had a baby on my back. A great view once you get to the top and some nice aspens along the way....somebody even left a pre-rolled out there.

Only saw a few people in the distance on this one. not much traffic on Friday at 1pm.

*bonus*

Gorgeous view on the top. Micro spikes might be necessary since ice and snow are widespread on the ground. This is not a challenging trail and highly recommended.

Did this 11/29/18. Fun hike that should probably be labeled as “moderate” in the winter. Used yak traks today and they were very necessary. It is a slog going straight up but the views are worth it!! We breezed down which helped. Trialhead VERY easy to miss as others have stated look for a light reflector sign across from the parking area. Lots of snow on the road to the trail head that a person in front of us got stuck in. Be careful and mindful driving up.

Snow-packed trail that was mostly protected by trees; the wind at the top was brutal in conjunction with the 15 degree temps. Traction wasn’t necessary, but I would bring them just in case.

Beautiful and easy hike. A bit uphill in the beginning. I was happy I had microspikes but snow shoes would’ve been helpful, especially if you want to explore around. It’s windy once you get there. A face cover would be wise to bring in fall/winter. Also was envious of the smart folks who brought sleds for the downhill back!

Snow on trail, icy up top but still able to hike without micro spikes

Short and steep, but great views at the top! Winds were a little crazy today, so didn’t spend too much time up top. Some icy spots on the trail that spikes may have been useful for, but managed just fine.

This is a great hike to do in the winter. The trail is easy to follow even with fresh snow and it may be the only time of year you don't have to fight for a parking spot. Nice steady climb to Evergreen Mountain through very thick forest. Some nice views from the top of Evergreen. Currently a lot of snow and some icy spots. Although we did not break out the Yak Trax they would have come in handy. This is a nice hike close to Denver,l Just keep in mind it gets very crowded when the weather is nice.

amazing hiking, even in the winter!

Beautiful short hike close to Denver! It’s steady incline to the top, completely worth the short work out for the views! Lovely panoramic views. Great go-to hike.

A fun hike with Kalina Miller today on this easy to find trail with some excellent views. The inclines are not so steep really and there are some nice level sections and a few short downhills. Enjoy the scenery and take lots of pics.

Such a fun little trail! Small bit of scrambling to the rocks at the top. Spikes were useful but probably not required today. Lovely views. Port-o-let at the trailhead. (I always find it useful know!)

I did this hike yesterday (11/11) and the trail was snow covered. It was very pretty with all the snow. We didn’t do the entire trail but enjoyed the portion we did do. I did it fine with nice snow boots but it was a little slippery at times. My friend had crampons on her shoes and they seemed to work well. Snow shoes would have been overkill

Beautiful short hike although it does get crowded. Everything was frozen over and we walked across the lake. You can get some beautiful photos up here! Hiked in November and microspikes were definitely helpful.

It's a short one, but great for a morning away. Had the trail to myself and didn't see anyone til I got back to the parking lot. No snow yet, but the incline is real! Views are amazing at the top (minus the mansions built into the mountainsides).

Visiting Boulder from New Jersey, and a few hours after landing my friends and I did this trail. Absolutely stunning scenery. Easy enough considering we are not used to the altitude. We decided to go farther and do the Chapman Dr trail which loops back into the same parking lot that we started for tenderfoot! Nice little hike with beautiful views, I would love to do it again!

Yaktracks and layers made this possible and as wonderful as well. Will be back !

This is a great trail to couple with the Squaw mountain. I would suggest doing this one first. This one is still an easy trail, but is slightly more difficult than Squaw. The incline a little more steep. My opinion is this is better because it’s more in the woods and the trail is more fun. The views at the top are stunning as well.
You will be able to identify the parking on the side of the road but the trailhead is easy to miss. It’s on the other side of the road and is a small entry.

As of 11/10/2018 the trail is covered in snow but I didn’t need shoe traction at all and the trail is still being used enough that the path is obvious. A great, short hike with unbelievable views at the top. Download the PeakFinder app for some fun after summiting.
