Super easy hike. Did this with my daughter and puppy. Great views and easily done in an afternoon.

Pretty great hike. First 3/4 was quite basic. The last leg and the rock climb was a bit harder than anticipated. The last leg was the steepest, as you can see from the topographical map. The climb was a bit sketchy. Two puzzles (first was easy, second was a pain), then steep stairs with a lot of loose gravel, so be slow and steady.

See my review for the loop that includes Little Jackson Mountain, Tumbledown Mountain, and the Pond. Jackson Mountain itself has no views at the top, I was told by a hiker we met at the top of Little Jackson (which has spectacular views).

Amazing hike!!! Last mile is very steep but totally worth it- dog loved it!

Une vue magnifique au sommet à perte de vue. Un peu plus technique à certains moments entre Saddleback et the Horn mais ça en vaut la peine.

We parked at the base lodge of Saddleback and hiked up grey ghost trail. Gorgeous views. Definitely some tough terrain at times but totally worth the view at the top.

We didn't get to climb Pilot Rock as we were in the middle of a rain/hail storm, but we got pretty close and the whole way was beautiful! We saw bear on the trail that ran off when it saw us. Water was scarce.

I like some technical climbs as I get bored, and this hike didn’t disappoint. The Rangeley area is beautiful and dear to my heart. The views are spectacular...can’t go wrong on this one!

One of the most beautiful places in Maine...

Caught a great day, but still a tiring hike by the end. Hiking poles were extremely helpful in more than a couple of spots.

Great hike straight up Saddleback with beautiful views. The trail over to the The Horn was technical in a few spots but fun. This hike is a must do if your in the Rangeley area.

September 1st 2018. was a perfect day to go hiking we went on this hike. trail os well marked just about did all of the trails. I enjoyed it.

One of my fav trails in Maine! Today I did the entire loop! Gorgeous falls.. bring a bathing suit and towel!

My first 4000 footer hike. Hard means hard especially a trail intersecting with the AT. Beware there will me a lot of climbing to do. The reward was worth all the hardship. I loved it. Will do it again.

OMG! I loved Pilot Rock!!! Pretty scary, though!! I really experimented so much fear when climbing up to the top, but it was refreshing, exciting! So much adrenaline!! I liked the views, but it was a little bit smoky and I didn’t completely enjoy that. I watched some videos in YouTube before we headed up, and that gave us the familiarity with the terrain and how to climb with confidence. I will recommend that if it is going to be your first time. Don’t let the scary comments hold you back on going. Some part of the road is not well maintained. The trail is not hard. We got lost in our way back because we missed the turn to the TH and we ended up in PCT trail for a while.

We hiked this trail on 8/25/18 with our dog. It’s a short hike to the top with great view of several local lakes. Definitely recommend the entire summit loop-the back side of the mountain is a bit more of a challenge but overall a fairly easy hike.

Be prepared to pay $14 per person if you are out of state! We came to the area on vacation and this was our last hike. This is as an awesome place. We logged 11.1 miles doing the loop clockwise which included stopping by almost every view point. Put our $42 to good use and do some maintenance on the Rim Trail.

Love these trails. Well maintained with nice views. Can sometimes be crowded.

Saddleback is a must if you go to Rangeley. It’s one of the more difficult and strenuous trails as it goes up a ski resort trail. The top is beautiful and well-worth the hike. It connects to the AT up top, and there is a nice little pond up there to swim if you want (my dog sure did!). It’s one of the most beautiful mtn tops I’ve hiked.

One of the best hikes I have ever gone on alone

One of my favorite hikes ever.

Absolutely an incredible mountain range for snowshoeing! Love this spot after a classic Maine blizzard. The Saddleback ski resort may be abandoned but there's someone grooming part of the trails for past few years. 360-degree views from summits are stunning. Autumn and summer hiking up Saddleback offer a moderate to strenuous workout. There's an old warming hut just before the summit, as the trail connects to the Appalachian Trail; sources of heat have been removed from this hut but it's still a great quick shelter to grab a bite and get out of high winds.

Love it; hubby and I have gone repeatedly. Unless your dog is VERY nimble and sure on their feet, you may want to keep them home; lots of holes and places they could hurt themselves.

Accurately rated as easy, though there are a few steep points where old pups or people with weak knees might struggle. Beautiful lookout points. The whole loop-de-loop that AllTrails lays out here took us just under two hours, including short stops to take in the views.

Great trail! Easy to find and plenty of parking. The trails are well marked and the views were beautiful!

great views, good exercise.

I am overweight and just starting to hike again. The hike to Screw Auger Falls was perfect for me as it was challenging but not overwhelming. As I get in better shape I look forward to doing some of the longer hikes in this beautiful area of Maine.
