Steep, especially on the front end. Definitely got the heart rate up. The highlight was the baby calves and cows lounging on the trail. Loved it. About 4mi. Best in the winter during the rainy season, when things turn green.

Good trail but ... no view

Hike in Napa area near St. Helena through canyon (good for shade in summer) with main attraction of swimming hole at the end. Trail itself is ok, along a river for part of it, decently maintained, easy trail not crowded on a summer weekday

So peaceful. A gorgeous time of year

This trail was a great match for the 4 of us. The view of the Napa Valley was beautiful. We want to come back in a few weeks and gather blackberries ♡

this trail can start at the forest service station in angwin. if on mountain bikes it is somewhat technical to start but is very enjoyable. Generally downhill but not one to go to sleep on.

Enjoyed this one a few times. It wasn't crowded any time I was in this trail system.

Fantastic walk up to the top of the hill. Grass is a bit tall at the top for my preference, including thorns and thistles. Beautiful views of the valley. Will comeback!

Mostly shaded, well kept trail. Took us about 2 hours on the Moore Creek/Dry Foot trail.

Nice trail, very few people, dog friendly and a couple good climbs.

Beautiful view, very peaceful setting.

Definitely a “easy” trail. Not moderate at all. Great Lake and cold swimming most of the year.

An enduring, well worth hike. Lots of fresh air and scenic. A moderate walk and rewarding at the end.

Beautiful hike, low land canyon with a canopy of oaks that rises up to ridge lines overlooking rolling hills. Amazing 360 degree views. Love this hike!

Peaceful and short trail.

Nice hike to some pools. first 1.5 miles are really dull fire road but then the trail gets into single track and with creek crossings and roller coaster hills is a fun run with a swim at the falls.

It was a great day to be outside but I think this trail was a little steep. I wouldn’t say it’s an easy hike.

Beautiful trail, hilly but a lot of great views!

Nice hike, pretty easy and very dusty. Terrain varies from woods to meadow, mostly flat. Picnic table overlooking airstrip. Some of us (well, ok..me) were freaked out by the pack of coyote we heard crying/calling. Seemed to be stalking us. I had my puppy with me and it was very un-nerving. Past a runner who said he sees the pack often but not to worry...they are harmless. No others on the trail. Id recommend doing this with a friend or two.

Loved the views along this trail. We had it all to ourselves. Although it was a tad windy, it was a nice little jaunt up to the summit where you had great views of the valley. Also ran into a friendly cow along the way which was fun. Some cool old trees up near the top as well.

Mostly fire roads and the road splits off in different directions multiple times but we used our intuition and managed to make a big circle back to the entrance.

Took two hours. As others have said, easy to get lost.

Trail is mostly shaded and includes portions of 4H camp access road. Hiking clockwise, the end of the marked loop near the trailhead is blocked due to construction. The property is crisscrossed with mapped trails and it was easy finding a workaround (unsigned), but it did cause us to backtrack a few hundred yards. Great walk with our dog.

Great mountain biking trails. Perfect for introducing kids to the sport.

I’ve just uploaded the Moore Creek hiking map. The trails have expanded since the description of this trail was made. This is a great hiking area for winter. Lots of migratory birds to see along the shoreline trail.

Find a vista hike that includes Oak woodlands, elevation changes and a moderate workout; and you’ve found a great day in your path! The Valentine trail loops up hill, then brings you back down and puts you back on a dirt road along Moore Creek as you complete the 3.1 Miles. It’s a good afternoon hike. We hiked on a Friday afternoon an met one other couple.

Did this hike yesterday afternoon, and overall is was a beautiful strenuous hike. It's labeled as a loop here on alltrails, but is actually an out and back; the trail is relatively new and is still being worked on in some areas. Here are some of my feelings about the trek:
Cons- it is not clearly enough marked and the map doesn't help at all. Once you arrive at the pools the hike is over, but no where does it say this, and there is also a trail across the creek that looks like it's a continuation of the "loop." ultimately I made some mistakes of my own (starting later in the day, not bringing sufficient lights) and ended up hiking back the way I came in the dark.
pros- it's is a very low trafficked trail; my dog and I were the only ones on it for five hours. She was able to be off leash and thoroughly enjoyed playing in the creek. We hiked on a day that was misty and somewhat rainy, but not enough to warrant a jacket. the trail was beautiful, vibrant leaves and views. the trail consists of about 6 creek crossings, so be sure to wear appropriate shoes! we also came across several salamanders, which was super cool.

all in all, very good hike, just don't hike past the pools unless you have a lot more light in the day. NOT a loop ;)
