One of my favorite trails! Just went back recently to see it in the summer and it is still beautiful though I prefer late fall to catch snow at the top. Pretty easy and dog friendly trail. Lots of bugs at the top in warmer weather, be prepared. Parking lot can also be full very early on weekend and holidays, pretty popular hike.

This was a beautiful hike. We went Saturday morning around 10:30/11 a.m. The lot was full but there was parking on the street that wasn’t far. There are a lot of rocks on this trail so be ready. The lake was gorgeous. We put our feet in the water but that was all we could handle as it was very cold.

Great hike

So fun! Beautiful lake!

crouded, but good

trail is ok, but the lookout it very underwhelming, not worth the climb

Trail is all gradual uphill around the last half mile it gets kinda hard because your going steep up but it it worth it! I would consider this moderate not easy depending on you. The woods toward the fireplace are very beautiful reminds me of a fairytale.

Hike up was beautiful. Moderate difficulty is a good description. Get there early. We parked at 630am and shared the entire walk up with one other person (and a quick bear sighting). On the way down we passed a ton of people. Parking lot was filled with people circling for spots at 12. Beautiful views at the top!

Did this hike yesterday! So enjoyable. I arrived around 7:30, I was one of three cars on the Monday morning. It felt like I had the trail all to myself for most of my ascent up. It was only until the last half of my lake loop and my descent down the trail, did I actually start to see more people and groups.

Seems to get packed quickly the later in the day it gets. I can’t imagine the traffic on a weekend. I was thankful that I wore my most water resistant boots. Some casual stream crossing, water fall gazing, and splashing around was well worth it. The trail was very well maintained and I personally enjoyed the mixture of man made bridges / stairs in contrast to the occasional array of rocks and stones.

This hike is tougher than others make it sound. I would do this again, earlier or later. I went at 7 AM and it was still crowded. Gushing with people when we came back and tons of people who didn't pick up their dog poop! The trail even provides bags at the bottom. It was cloudy so I didn't get to experience much on top. Perfect for those who are in the city to get away, but I wouldn't drive more than 1 hour to do this hike. The bonus is that you MAY get to see paragliders.

Hiked today and it was gorgeous. I got there at about 7-7:30 and there weren't too many people there, but tons of people got there around 9 or so. Multiple waterfalls and incredible lake at the top. Definitely recommend hiking shoes if you have them. There's lots of walking on rocks, wet rocks, and over creeks. Also, don't forget to pay for parking or have a pass.

Arrived around 8am Sat morning and snagged the last parking spot. Small lot for such a popular spot. Apparently there's parking in the campground across the way. There are bathrooms at the TH. So just FYI...I found this a moderate ++ hike for me...I'm 70. Took me some time to get thru the rocky section mostly going up but coming down was really hard on my knees. Lots of tree roots and wet rock surfaces to maneuver. OK...enough. The trees are wonderful. awesome views, the smell of the forest, the waterfalls and the lake at the top with some lingering snow on the slope. All beautiful!!

The view is worth it. Small parking - must get early or after 2PM.

Such a beautiful and relatively easy trail. Went on it in May and there was still snow up at the lake. The trail itself is beautifully routed through the lush forest with multiple views of small waterfalls and grand views once you reach the portion of the switch backs. Be careful when walking on the log stairs as your foot may slip as mine did and you’ll take a log to the knee. But sore knee aside, this lake was truly breathtaking and the scenic drive out to it also matched in its beauty. You will need to purchase a North Forrest Park Pass prior to going as a heads up.

Tougher than we thought it would be. Constant elevation gain. Nice trail though and it was fun to watch the paragliders taking off at the top.

Beginner friendly trail. Just wear proper shoes. Beautiful and very scenic! If you bring your dogs, please keep them on a leash and clean up after them or that will only ruin it for all of us who are responsible dog owners that love hiking with them! Can get pretty crowded... make sure you get there as early as you can if you don't want to walk dodging crowds of people along the trail!!!

extremely hard trail. very slick at points. not recommended for beginners. You can do it, but start early.

The lake is absolutely beautiful! It is my favorite lake I have hiked to in Washington so far. The trail is rocky and was kind of wet in spots, which always makes me extra cautious. The waterfalls were an added bonus. I wish it wasn't such a busy trail, but it is easy to understand why it is.

Hiked on Sunday with my pup and a group of friends. Trail was rockier than expected and also pretty muddy. The bugs at the lake render it nearly impossible to take a break but the views are stunning nonetheless. I'm in good shape and it took me about 3 hours down and back with minimal breaks.

also: arrived at the parking lot at 9:30 and was lucky to find a spot. evidently later in the day cars were towed for parking on the street so get there early or late but not between 10-2!

Did this on Sunday afternoon (July 8th) to avoid the crowd, which turned out to be a good strategy. I arrived at the trailhead at about 6pm, and it took me about 75 minutes to get to the lake. Along the way there wan't much people around and there was a part that's very rocky, so watch your steps. As your approach the lake, you will see more and more mosquitoes so bring a spray. The lake is quite and clear. I give it 4 star because there isn't much else to see along the way up, but it is a pretty good workout.

Beautiful hike, very peaceful. No running water in the summer time though! Or at least this year.

Not easy to find the starting point. We went up to poo poo point from high school (3.8 miles) and returned via chirico trial (1.7 miles). Nice views of the area and mount Rainier. Also it was nice to see someone paragliding from poo poo point.

Very good trail. Not a lot of elevation, so good for beginners too. Remember to keep your bug spray

Great trail, seeing gliders glide was a good view

Great hiking trails...
