Nice hike. A bit icy near top but worth the views and quietness.

Icy and snowy on trails! Need micro spikes or at the very least hiking shoes!

by far the easiest trail I've ever done

Hiked 1/12/2019. Lots of snow, microspikes are helpful. Trail is easy to find. Started at 8:30am, only passed a few people coming up, but trail was busy on our descent.

One of my favorite trails, it seems it is less crowded than some of the others in this area. Hiked 1/13, went up Gregory Canyon and down via Saddle Rock. The top was mostly hard packed snow and the bottom a little icy, I wore my microspikes the whole time and was glad I had them. Took me about 4 hours round trip. Would highly recommend!

What a fun and spontaneous hike! Although a family could very easily make a day out of Dinosaur Ridge. There is a visitor’s center below, and a brief trek to the trailhead where you can stop and fill up on Dinosaur facts and the history of this area’s landscaping. Continuing up the ridge, the trail becomes more mountainous, and perhaps steep in a few locations. My 7 year old and our small dog were easily able to navigate the, at times, rocky path and completed the hike to the top. The peak provides ample near 360 views of Colorado’s awe inspiring landscape. Red Rocks amphitheater is across the way, and the ridge is near off the interstate. There are many mountain bikers, so hikers, be prepared to pull over and say “hello!” on this fun trail. (Hiked: March/2018)

Great variety of terrains.

2nd time back and a little less rough but still very challenging. The final 200 steps are icy and spikes would be ideal but I did it without them.

Awesome trail and a great workout!!

Quite possibly my favorite hike. The river was so full you could feel the power of the water rushing by. At points the water is overhead. Just amazing.

Late review. We went late summer 2017.

My favorite since even before it was ever open !

Hiked this trail in mid-September. Probably my most favorite trail ever. Well worth the scramble up the waterfall. Spectacular lakes set in a backdrop of towering mountains. And the colors were amazing. Definitely worth the effort to get there. Make sure to take the time to stop and enjoy the many views.

Easily accessible from I-70 and quick to get to if you live in/around Denver. I just woke up Sunday and decided to go hiking...20 minutes later I was on the trailhead; from downtown. Great views for a trail so close to the city. Family friendly. Lots of mountain bikers.

LEG WORKOUT! So so worth it! Feels very rewarding to have completed this one.

Beautiful!

Way more than I anticipated but worth every leg cramp and labored breath.

I first learned about this place in 2015. I took the opportunity to climb it in June 2016. It is a rather tough climb, especially if one is not in the best of physical condition as I was. The keys to complete this climb is to be absolutely committed to climb to the summit, take at least 2 liters of water (I use a camel pack), take your time & rest when necessary, and enjoy the stunning vistas. I plan on going back in June 2019, & maybe even climbing all the way to Pike's Peak, time permitting.

Used the trail to the Wilderness Boundary then looped back along the road. Traction helpful, but snowshoes required above the falls. Good hike, nice day. Great views of Sawtooth and Buchannan Pass.

A little icy and snowy in some areas, but plenty of parking and a beautiful hike.

Beautiful hike! The road to Monarch Lake is closed for the season, so know you'll have about an extra mile each way. We saw a family of moose close to the trailhead, lots of animal prints around Monarch Lake so be aware. Snow was well packed for most of the trail, but once you reach the switchbacks after Monarch Lake you'll probably want snowshoes, as XC skiers don't go there. We only made it to Cascade Falls and the trip took about 6 hours RT. Anyone else trying it out in the winter - good luck!

I was able to jog this up and down in just running shoes with a little caution. It’s gorgeous in the winter! Make sure to go the extra couple hundred feet to sprouting rock.

Good views of falls, which aren't magnificent. Take the trail from Allenspark to avoid park closures.

The park was closed due to government shutdown so it added 5 miles to this hike. Beautiful trail. The hike to the trail was lovely. No part of the entire 10 miles was hard. Didn’t need spikes even and we went on 1/1/19 the day after fresh snow. The waterfall at the top was covered in snow. So not particularly scenic but the trail overall was wonderful. Peaceful winter beauty. Looking forward to spring to see the waterfalls.

Great work out. Beautiful view. Has a wimp-out zone that heads back down for those who don't want to finish. But when you get to the summit (not the false summit), you find it's totally worth it. People are friendly and supportive along the way.

Hiked 12/15/18. Went with a friend and we both wore spikes and used poles. It was a gorgeous hike; I've hiked to Ouzel Falls in every season and it is gorgeous every single time. Do you know what an Ouzel is? Google it! And then you'll know what to look for while hiking. Enjoy the waterfalls. Consider extending your hike to Ouzel Lake. It is much quieter once you pass the falls and head to the lake and that's where you'll find your solitude on a sunny summer day so add that to your list, too. #52hikechallenge
