First time hiking in Mendon Ponds Park, there is a variety of trails to choose from. Choose the East Esker Trail due to being a moderate trail that is dog friendly with hilly terrain. The trail was better than expected, a great workout! Did not see any waterfall, but there was a swamp & a pond. Definitely coming back in the fall time for the foliage!

The only downside was the horse poop in the middle of the trail, but the dog enjoyed smelling it!

Great wide trail with beautiful views of the lake. I will be going again

Fun with the kids!!!

Easy out and back trail. We went in the evening after a light rain. Not many people, and doing the trail in the evening gave it a very different feel. The falls are beautiful.

We went to the overlook point n saw and we were not thrilled and then we drove to the gorge trail head, We started the hike and its less than a mile once we reached the falls it was surely a great feeling. We went after heavy rains so we could see decent amount of water but if you go in mid summer I doubt if you can hardly enjoy the falls. The gorge trail head is right next to Cayuga so we spent some time there as well, worth a visit!!

cool view. fun breweries and downtown bars, and the bridge out over the river is fun, but the river trail is sporadic and messy

Tricky to get to. Got turned around and ended up off trail twice, but the waterfall is breathtaking and we were the only hikers that day.

nice after a rain.

Great hike! The falls at the top are wonderful, with a nice shallow swimming hole at the bottom.

Nice set of trails. Word of warning to watch your foot in if it just recently rained. Trails can be very slick and steep! Very nice walk with the dogs however! Definitely recommended for a nice trek and many trails to weave through! Also watch for dogs off leash apparently!

Somewhat overgrown and very muddy.Probably better earlier in the year and not after the rain we just had.Very buggy but gave a good workout!

Loved walking through the stream the whole way. Great place for kids to play in the creek, and then in the water hole at the end. Gorgeous water falls.

Nice easy hike to the falls, optional walk along the creek bed in sections. Good for kids and dogs!

Great scenic hike. Wear shoes you can confidently walk in water in tho. Only drawback was we did not.

There is a trail on each side of this stream. You want to take the trail on the left side of the bridge , next to a small pull off. If you park in the small parking area, cross over the bridge to get to the better trail. Follow the unmarked trail until you get to a slope on the right leading to the top of the larger waterfall and go upstream to a smaller waterfall. To get to the base of the large waterfall go back up the slope area and continue down the unmarked trail. The trail gets steeper and narrower and you will see a rope going down the side of the steep hill, before you get to a path that looks like it’s made for mountain goats. Either way it is not the easiest but this 52 year old lady would take the rope any day and have done so numerous times here. You will need to walk in the water a bit to get to the base of the waterfall. I have never got any further downstream from there.

this is an average hike with average scenery. trail not marked well but it's basically a square.

One of my favorite spots in Ithaca!

The stream was dried up and there were a ton of bugs :(

just went today, there was just a trinkle of water where there is normally a big fall, which is disappointing. normally a beautiful spot however!

Good workout for beginners but no waterfall

Well maintained. Lovely walk

Very easy walk towards the waterfall. The hike around the rim is a nice walk but the views are not as great as expected. Some days the waterfall is underwhelming.

Harriet HollisterSpencer trail system is much larger than noted on app.I use the S6 loop which is marked well with yellow trail tags and is an awesome MTB trail 7.5 mile loop. Also have seen hikers, horseback and such out there.Complete snowmobile trail system marked as well and much more trail for all to enjoy.Again it’s a much larger trail system than noted.

Nice walk around the rim. Mostly flat and graveled trail. Pushed my son with his broken femur in wheelchair. A few little incline workouts with the wheelchair, but no problem overall.

Very easy. Lots of shade. A lot of people. Great hike after finishing the Rim Trails.

Nice trail and well shaded. Perfect for a hot summer day.

A fun scenic short hike. Very hot today and was refreshing to wade in the water.

Nice hike around the rim. It’s about 4 miles. Great views. The gorge trail is spectacular. Super easy. You can walk the entire length in the water. Great for kids. Can catch Minos and crayfish.
