Nice walk in October!

Parts of the trail are washed out by the river right now.

Lovely, easy hike with pretty decent coastline scenery. Some of the rocky bits were a little slippery so I'd use caution if hiking in winter.

Easy trail, can go down around the falls beautiful hike

Beautiful! Very well maintained trails with informative signs. There is a wheel chair accessible portion that gives you great views of the falls or you can continue on a loop that allows views of al the Falls. Be aware there are a lot of steps.

not the greatest signage but a relatively easy hike despite a few eskers.

great trail, may be a little wet depending on recent weather. Great views and interesting landscape you walk down into. relatively easy.

My first IMBA Epic trail and it was great! I tried it out on a fat bike during the summer months and it rode well throughout the trails. The system offers challenging obstacles and beautiful views. Sidewinder is often exposed, which makes it seem more difficult than it is. I would highly recommend this area and you could easily spend a day exploring all it has to offer

Some parts of the trail were a little more difficult, mostly an easy hike. Lots of kids and dogs on the trail. Some parts were narrow to allow people by. All in all a great trail.

Not that difficult, interesting and pretty. Totally worth it!

Great trail close to home

The rocks and tree roots are worth it. We get right up inside and underneath the bluffs.

We started at the Glenbeulah trail head and went to hwy 23 trail conditions good several rocky areas very quiet and peaceful some moderate hills overall very good experience

Did the Lost Canyon Trail which was nice but not very challenging. There’s a ravine portion with lots of boulders which was both beautiful and fun. A couple miles in, I ran into an angry black bear on the trail about 100 feet in front of me. After making myself look Big, etc. he wouldn’t budge. When he started posturing and “yelling” at me I conceded and backed slowly out of his space. Told rangers at the park office who weren’t at all impressed as there are several black bears (and wildcats!) living in the park. Just b aware and enjoy yourself.

Beautiful trail along the lake and cliffs. Fairly quiet on a weekend in August.

Went early enough in the morning that it wasn’t crowded. I really enjoyed the trail but wasn’t able to complete the entire loop because of a Bear encounter. A Black bear came out of the woods onto the trail about 100 feet in front of me grunting (with a little bit of growling) and posturing. Scared the daylights out of me but i knew what to do and all was well. VERY awesome experience!

Hard and scenic trail.

This was a fun, semi-challening trail with some mighty hills to conquer. We did the North Loop (red trail).
DO NOT use the cutoff trail (yellow with red dots) during the spring/summer - it takes you right through the creek/flood plain and we ended up walking through about 6 inches of water, and in some spots were in mud up to our knees. Overall it was still a fun trail and the dog actually loved the muddy part!

Beautiful day for this hike. There weren’t many bugs! Easy loop trail with a few climbs. The trail is mostly in the woods. Follow the trail counterclockwise to have better views of the trail mile markers. The trail crosses other trails.

This is an easy trail. Not sure why it is rated hard. Very little elevation gain. It has some nice views along the water and the cliffs are neat to check out. It was very buggy at about 8am, and wet and muddy in some spots but pretty avoidable overall.

The map above is a picture of the trail to Morgan Falls. The trail to St. Peter's dome is much longer, almost 2 miles out, 4 round trip.

The trail is closed but the road is open. We did the hike and it was muddy in a few places. This is the buggiest trail ever. It was miserable and we couldn't even stop to take pictures without being swarmed, and that was with bug spray.

Great trail.’!! It’s tree lined and on the water’s edge, plus there are some fun rocky areas Accessed the trail from the beach area via the Minnehaha trail.

This trail is the definition of "bang for your buck". It is super accessible for hikers of all skill levels and is quite beautiful, in spots. Go early and hike the cloverleaf of inter-connected trails. Skip Stephens' Falls unless you like a crowd.

Pros:

- Close to home (Madison)
- Beautiful natural landscape
- Trail(s) is/are well marked

Cons: (not really)

- Super busy! Hard to relax.
- Crowded parking on the road
- Trail is heavily wooded in spots...mosquito and tick repellent is a must must must!
