Loved it! Stair steppers Heaven! Recommend counter clock rotation of the loop. If you go clock wise you may find that you might want to skip the summit cause you're too tired. The left side off loop is more difficult and longer. When you get close to summit, trail gets harder to distinguish. Look for pyramid rock stacks and few trail markers. Creek runs along the right side of loop, you can treat to drink. But no water on the left side of loop. Enjoy!

The falls were running and we were able to get a quick run in before the rain showers. A great short run with incline!

Wonderful views and a easy trail. Perfect for kids!

Did this hike yesterday 3/17 early morning. No ice issues to report. It’s an amazing hike that gets your heart rate up for sure! The view at the top is %100 worth it! It says hard, but I wouldn’t go that far, though there are some steep spots.

This spur of the moment hike was fun, but we look forward to hiking the area again when we are more prepared. Beautiful sites. Even stumbled across a herd of deer!

Well worth the slog to the sumit.

Amazing hike today, the weather was beautiful and there was barely any foot traffic which was really nice. Will never not love hiking Horsetooth.

Great trail. if you're looking for a long hike this is perfect a lot of up hill and a lot of rocks on the trail but that didn't bother us. we will come back. Also a 3 year old was hiking with with us and she made it.

Amazing hike on a usual day.
However hiked yesterday 3/4 and the lower portion of the trail (about half mile) is a complete sheet of ice. Very dangerous to hike if you don't have trackers. Saw many people fall hard, a majority turned around before it got too bad. Stay safe spring hikers!

Nice hike with our son from CSU ON Sunday. Parking lot full, but only waited 2 minutes for someone to leave(Ranger cobtrolled). No spikes needed, poles were a great help. Beautiful views of Horsetooth Reservoir and great Mountain Vistas from the Rock. Took the easier, more gentle slope down the road, Great views and much easier on the knees!

Great hike with nice views. Parking was difficult, very few options for where to park because all lots were fulll

Wonderful hike, outstanding views throughout! It was 65 degrees throughout the hike and the snow was very minimal even at the top. I find it’s rare to find more strenuous hikes that aren’t very cold and/or buried in snow at this time of year. It’s challenging but manageable. A treasure for sure!

Nice hike. I wouldn't consider the hike too difficult. On the easy/moderate side. A little ice on the trail. Since it was nice day today, the trails were a bit busy. Not overly crowded. Nice views of from the tops of the ridge. As we suspected, the falls are not running yet. Make sure you wear mud ready shoes as there is a lot of mud and ice on the shady side. Hiking poles may not be a bad idea for the not so sure footed.

Nice challenging hike when you're out of chaos and need to build endurance again. many inclines and great in the winter.

Good early morning hike

I love this trail because it is easy to get to, available nearly year round and the views are beautiful. Standing in the keyhole overlooking the mountains is spectacular.

So much fun! Great views and bouldering.

Fun hike! Beautiful to get to the top and watch the sunrise

This was a fantastic hike through a variety of scenery. Nice mountain range views, burnt forest, undulating terrain. Scrambling over rocks to the top makes the spur a bit tricky in winter months. Also requires paying special attention to the small signs to figure out where to go. Steep climbing sections to get a workout in, definitely on the harder side. Dogs should be agile! I really like this trail. Fantastic photography options. For more details and pics: https://etbtravelphotography.com/2018/02/04/roadtrip-to-the-rockies-grey-rock-mountain/

Well graded, moderate to easy hiking path that ends with great views of Fort Collins and Horsetooth Reservoir. A bit crowded with mountain bikers but they were all very polite. Closer to 6 miles for the entire loop.

Amazing views great cardio

Very icy for the first half of the trail, spikes highly recommended.

This was the perfect trail to introduce my fiancee to backpacking. It is close to home just in case we needed to turn around and just past Arthur's Rock is a great campsite you can book that overlooks Ft. Collins.

First hike with my dogs since moving to Colorado and we LOVED it! My dogs had a blast getting some exercise and I loved the scenery! Definitely going back to explore some more

Great views after scrambling up rocks at the top. Lake is okay, but not much water or shade on this one. Did this in July, the little meadow is neat though and full of wildflowers.

If you want to experience where the locals do their single-track trail-running, this is it. It’s about 7 miles RT if you take the trail until it drops into the blue sky section. Lots of rolling trail but with many sections of loose rock and polished slabs that take nimble footwork. Moderate hills are perfect for those looking to improve their uphill running as it doesn’t last too long or is super steep in any spot. Great place to make running a habit!

Trail is a nice little challenge. If going out in the next few days, I suggest using studded boots or crampons. It was getting pretty packed and slick for a good portion of the trail. There isn't enough snow for snowshoeing.

This was our first hike near the foothills of the Co. Rockies. What beautiful day for this trail; there only a handful people and the weather was perfect. The 'keyhole' is a nice feature along this easy hike. The trail has map location settings along route making it extremely easy to follow.
