Great hike with great scenery. Perfect thing to do while camping at Serrano campground. Approximately .7 miles from the campground to the trailhead. Need an adventure pass to park there if you are driving.

Quiet and not too busy. Trail well maintained and very beautiful!

It was pretty dope. Stay Hydrated. Be respectful, clean up after yourself. Use sun block, take a hat. If you know how to drive you won't need a 4x4 to get to the hiking area, but it's recommended.

My college friend took me and another friend who were both visiting from out of state on this hike. Was a great morning hike to experience the area and see the lake from above. We did see a rattlesnake (second time my friend has on this trail), so keep your eyes peeled near the rocky spots and your dogs close!

Use this trail to go on Pacific coast trail

Tougher than it looks.

Great trail. easy 5 mile round trip hike with nice views of the lake.

There's plenty of places to hike around this area which is nice. Only downside for me is that dogs aren't allowed to swim in the reservoir.

This was a great last minute hike choice. Knowing that there was a gorgeous view of Big Bear Lake waiting for us at the top made it all worth it. It’s a good moderate hike, lots of lizards and birds, many friendly fellow hikers, several bench seats at view look outs to take a break on if needed. Take water and some snacks

great Sunday morning ride, awesome trail for mtn bikes and hiking. There's a farmers market next to the dirt parking lot Sundays from 1030 to 3pm, so I was picked up a nice basket of organic strawberries to snack on after a long bike ride.

Loved this hike, beautiful views, friendly people, and great exercise! I was glad I brought my walking stick as it was quite rocky in places.

Gorgeous hike in the spring time, beautiful lake views and rolling hills and an abundance of birds and wild flowers and blooming cactus are everywhere.

Kids loved it. Nice shade for a snack at the wind caves.

Great hike with a beautiful view of the lake and the valley. Fairly easy until you to the last .8 mile before the peak (a little steep). Please do not climb the Satellite at the peak due to high radiation.

consistent climb and well groomed. beautiful photo ops along the way. not recommended when it rains as it gets muddy fast.

beautiful hike with snow:) we didnt go all the way to the pacific crest trail sign but still did most of it. you do need an adventure pass for this when there is snow.

This was a nice stroll to the crest that overlooks the lake, going in late February was perfect weather. Plenty of dogs on this trail.

Lightly trafficked is open to interpretation, but this is a great trail system for mtn biking if you don't want anything truly technical or hilly. You can definitely find some good steep hills once you start exploring, but this more of a fitness ride than a skills/test yourself scenario. For a bit of fun and a great climb, head east to Raptor Ridge. The descent makes the climb worth it.

Great hike

Easy hike up, great for kids. Go early in the morning to avoid crowds. On a Saturday we hiked past the caves to summit Split Mountain(East). There was no one there at 8am. When we came back through around 11am there were about 30 people there.

Very easy hike with great views and awesome wind caves. The initial ascent is steep and rocky, but not in any way a reason to avoid this destination. Kids will love it too. Looks like something from a sci-fi movie. Definitely need a vehicle with good clearance and better with 4wd. Access is through a sandy/rocky wash. The trip in to the trailhead through the canyon is scenic too.
