Nice and easy 4.8 mile trail with a pretty lake view and trees. Moderate to heavy traffic for a Saturday afternoon. Ran into a couple of mountain bikers and other hikers, some pups, but everyone was extremely nice and cognizant of keeping a distance or at least we were. There’s a small lot for paid parking, but most parked across the street for free street parking. No trail signs, but the trail was easy to follow.
Nice trail... tons of poison oak.
Awesome trail...narrow at some spots. Watch out for bikers!
Pretty ok trail but beware of lots of bikes not announcing themselves as they ride up on you
We came just before 8am on a Sunday and it was still busy. Heavily trafficked by cyclists, families, and other hikers. Everyone was courteous and polite but definitely not a favorite hike.
Pretty hillside trail that winds along the lake with lots of beautiful oak trees, mossy granite rocks, and vivid green grass this time of year. I saw lots of birds including a graceful crane right off the trail. Tons of mountain bike traffic on the weekend but they were all very courteous and careful. I was the only person on the trail, out of dozens of people, who bothered to cover my nose and mouth when passing in close proximity. Please be a responsible and respectful hiker and bring a mask with you, and don't leave trash or tp along trails.
Perfect for walking and jogging.
Interesting to see the low level of the lake, but not much else to look at. The transformation to lush green hills is almost complete! Loads of poison oak along the entire trail, just starting to leaf out.
loved this trail, went from the old bridge to salmon falls bridge. Easy took a 8 yr old and alot of mossy trees and creek along the way. Probably hot in the summer.
Great trail! Some fallen trees but it was amazing. Loved it!
Due to the extremely low water level in Folsom Lake, many of the ruins were visible to enjoy. It’s easy to cross from Darrington to Sweetwater when the old bridge (usually underwater) is exposed.
Started backward at Brown's Ravine. Never found Redbank or Mormon Island. Had a nice hike toward Folsom Dam... 6.3 miles round trip. the cost of parking at Brown's Ravine is a bit steep at $12.
Recommend taking the Browne Ravine leg on the west side; it has great views of the lake. There were a few tiny stream crossings and a few short muddy spots. We watched someone drench their foot and then one of us did the same thing on the way back. Some uneven embedded rocks, gentle rolling hills covered with oak & bristlecone pine, and a only few short, steep hills. Overall, the trail was moderate, nice views, and not too busy (passed 4 horses, 6 mountain bikers, and approximately 30 people over 3 hours).
Well marked trails, moderate traffic but everyone was respectful. Mixture of shaded trails and sunny trails... very nice hike.
Awesome hike!
