Some nice hills and plenty of gopher tortoises. Beautiful canopy to keep the sun off you. Look for the Passion flowers and monarchs.

not well traveled or properly maintained the overgrown firebreaks make for a better trail in some places. until maintenance is done you would be better off choosing a different trail.

Hurricane Irma took its toll. The Flagler bridge is closed and the canopy is not quite what it was. The footing is much sandier. But then nature is what it is and being out in it is always a joy.

Brother Jim and I hiked. Hot!! Steaming hot

a very pleasant loop trail showcasing river views and wildlife if going counterclockwise look for river otters, hawks, and the occasional snake or gator) on the way out with a live oak - palm hammock on the way back.

Local residents were very rude. A female and kid were traveling in there ATV and said old sawmill road was a private driveway and made me return.

Not properly marked or maintained.

Loved this!!! Lots of water yesterday. I definitely want to return with my bike when it dries out some. On the snake train I was knee deep.... there was no other way except turning around. I watched two people come through it before I did.

7 plus miles of Great trails with moderate incline/decline. Great for bird watching and other wildlife. Take plenty of H2O and watch out for snakes.

Can’t believe I haven’t been here before. Fun & well maintained. It rained the day before and there wasn’t much mud, let alone water on the trail.

Great 15 mile loop for exercise and seeing gators up close during the cooler months. They rent bikes for $9 an hour. If you get there before 2 pm there is no wait for a bike. State park that gives you 7 day entrance with one time payment. Park on the side of the street to save time and money!

Sunday in June it was hot and buggy but I would do it again. Lots of water needed. First hike in weeks that I got no ticks. I started at lower trail head and it took almost 3 hours and I usually would do that many miles in 2 hours.

Great hike! Wear waterproof shoes for the foreseeable future because a few areas were tough to pass without getting wet. We hiked from Barr to the bridge and it was a hot day but stayed shaded and not too hot.

Great trail! My wife and I did it yesterday! Clocks in closer to 7 miles, (6.8)! Great elevation changes! Bring plenty of bug spray and water! Probably a little harder than moderate! Get out there and go for it!

We had a fun time on the trail. There were plenty of alligators right next to the trail. Be careful with the kids. The watch tower was great. It was impressive seeing hundreds of birds all nesting in the same area. Entrance was a little steep $25 per car but it's good for a whole week.

Decent. I would recommend at least to go one time. It’s a good escape, keep in mind the trail takes around 2 hours to complete so be prepared. Bugs are usually around August-September.

This place really is hidden - it isn’t on any of the gps maps ... but once I found it, it was really nice! The trails are well maintained and have nice elevation changes. There is a “lake” ... more like a pond, at the bottom and the trail circles around and up on the ridge. It has quite a lot of variety for a smaller area.

It’s beautiful here! The trails are amazing.

I went right on the boardwalk and the first 3.5 miles was wonderful one along the St. John’s. Saw a pileated woodpecker. Then it’s 3.5 miles the heavens open up. And it rained the rest of the way. There definitely slippery slopes. It is worth it. I wish I had my trekking poles with me. When you coming back in about the 6 mile mark. Make sure you do not go down the powerline Road. But look for the path. They were very few mosquitoes.

The boardwalk at The Dunes Park has been completely redone and widened. The distance
is just a tad shorter but is a much better running surface. Took about a year to complete and a huge fishing pier has been added. FAB U LOUS!

Did a quick 5k down the trail in mid-day, very shady, green, but since it has been raining a lot lately, many puddles along the way!

I really enjoy this trail. It's very interesting and I love the streams. I have always entered on the west side on country club rd. not abrams

Love love love!

This is the best trail I’ve hiked in Florida so far. I’ve hiked this trail 4 different times and came across something new and exciting each time. There’s a lot to see here. Not your average boring Florida trail. There’s a lot of points of interest to discover. I came across beautiful flora, wild deer, hills, lakes, open plains, overlook of a river, jungle-like trails, bridges, bridge bells, orange trees, everglades, power poles, and great kayak spots. It’s also a very long and dynamic set of trails. You will spend hours in here. People aren’t lying when they said that this place was a giant maze. It is. You could easily get lost in here as the trail marks are confusing. To me, however, getting lost is part of the fun. Why do you hike anyway? Isn’t it for adventure? If you’re looking for that easy one-way, boring, tourist-friendly trail, you won’t find it here.

Very nice trails. Well blazed and taken care of. Only negative I can think to mention was the condition of "snot logs" crossing one of the creeks on the connector trail that connect both loops. Crossing logs were badly decayed and partially sunken in the creek. Otherwise, with what seems to be constant elevation changes, this trail system, which is very unique for Florida, would be a good primer for the AT.

Absolutely beautiful! 7 miles that is super easy & well shaded. Would highly recommend!

Although this is a good trail I still prefer Lake May reserve on 44a.
