Flat and Short Map

Nice trail, all paved or boardwalk, all about 8 feet wide. It's mostly covered in shade. Some parts of the trail can get a little wet, but not too bad. There's often quite a few other people on it.

Very nice trail. The first half or so is paved and quite broad and then it gets the observation trail which is dirt and about 2 people wide. There are some gradual elevation changes and a nice creek that you cross over... though they put the bridge right on top of some falls so you don't get a great view.

It rained 4 days ago and there was no mud on this trail.

Great trail with awesome views. Fairly easy hiking. There was some climbing in elevation but nothing difficult.

Great for the family!

Unexpectedly beautiful waterfalls. Moderately busy on weekends in the Fall.

Everything about this hike was perfect. The drive to get there is a little longer but beautiful. We had no trouble approaching from Doublehead Gap, then the dirt service road to the trail, which we found to be well maintained. Beautiful hike with ample stream crossings and change of scenery as you cross over the ridge. We had enough energy to also hike to Long Creek Falls afterwards which added another two miles to our adventure. The falls are beautiful and worth the effort. A full and satisfying day.

I would classify this trail as "easy" rather than "moderate." The payoff at the falls is nice, but large stretches of the trail system are devoted to mountain biking, making for lots of long switchbacks, which aren't really hiker-friendly.

one of my favorite hikes in atlanta. so many trails so you never do the same hike twice. the creek is pretty and good for dogs. parking is limited.

We love this trail and would hike it again. Good natural trail surface and enough elevation change to be interesting. Lovely walk in the woods. Only problem now is we got.a dog and they’re not allowed.

I have hiked about 100 trails with waterfalls and this trail is by far the most beautiful! Very easy hike in and out. Well marked and maintained.
There are actually two falls at the end with a smaller one along the way.
I would give it 10 stars if I could!!

This is one of our favorites. It’s close the kids love it and it’s beautiful in the fall!

Easy hike great view!

No dogs allowed on the mountain. We took the white trail all the way up without a single sign to indicate this and got yelled at the ranger at the top. Was an amazing trail but it was ruined by the rangers attitude especially when he said there are six signs on the yellow trail that we did not take. I don’t like breaking rules ever so it sucks when I did so unintentionally. I’ll go back without the pup but just be warned not to do as I did.

This was a beautiful trail but 3 miles of the trail is nonexistent due to downed trees and lack of upkeep. Thed trail across the road from parking has the most beautiful scenery and most waterfalls. Looks like they are cleaning up the back part of the trail, but highly recommend going at least once.

Love this place for mtn biking. Some fast runs and some fun drops. Noting to crazy. It’s just fun

Nice walk to the observation deck. Deck is damaged from a fallen tree so part of the viewing area is inaccessible. Still beautiful views of the falls.

Love my backyard park! Great for walking (pav d road or trails), biking, trail running. Trails pretty rooted/technical in some sections (esp white trail!). I never pay park fees- downtown Stone Mountain has plenty of free spots. Plan & Strategize-as some times /days pretty busy.

Short but the falls are worth it

A must hike!

Ok this is my second review, because I have now ran this trail a few times.

1. Still need to pay attention to the trail forks or you will head in the wrong direction.
2. Watch out for the horse poo, shame those riding can’t show some respect for others.
3. Some sections are getting covered with tree leaves so watch out for rocks and roots.
4. Several people do this trail on weekend and most know and trail courtesy, seams common since but unfortunately it’s not..
5. One trail to run or hike, you will see lots of wildlife and the views are worth tackling this trailer.

I went there with my friends.
was really nice hiking and wild life, view was great.
Just one thing I can't brought my dogs.

The only thing is that they close 5pm on the dot!

love it.

very pretty. a part of it had lots of small rocks so you had to be careful not to roll your ankle. also the trail crosses over some roads and parking lots which at times made me nervous about being off course. there's a swing over looking the lake. I would've loved to sit there a while had I not been trying to beat the clock back by 5 when they start towing cars

Good trail to hike with lots of views and lots of trail maps. If running keep left at first two forks otherwise you will be running other side trails. If you want to step it up start at the top of the dam.

This is my favorite loop I've found so far! Not insanely difficult but you'll feel like you did some good work after it. Love it!

Beautiful trail, enjoyed the first half from Lower Overlook Park, the Dam, etc. The second half was VERY poorly marked, so much so that my friend, 4 year old son & I ended up walking on a busy 2 lane road with no sidewalk to get back to my car. Annoying!

Very nice trail. We ll definitely do it again

Really nice hike, lots of different things to see. Pretty easy to follow as long as you check the map in the app occasionally.
