Perfect trail, it’s a bit longer than expected but beautiful. The views are badass and even after a good snow it was chilly but yet no way unbearable. The snow was melting so the trail was a bit muddy so be careful where you step. Some trekking poles wouldn’t hurt. You couldn’t see the top of MT. Elden due to the fog but still super pretty. Me and my girlfriend did it in 1:12 and it was 3.06 miles. We took a ton of breaks because she doesn’t hike all that often. But she made it through fine. It is a little hard to find though.

The ranger station next door is not where you wanna go. It’s a parking lot at the trailhead is where you want to go and park. At the ranger station it will have a sign for fat man. There won’t be one at the parking lot.... ya I know stupid right? Make sure to layer up it was a little chilly.

It’s a little congested, however very scenic.

All age ranges were on the trail, and I noticed how very polite people were.

I liked all the stream crossings, and the canyon walls curl over you at times which was awesome.

Have fun!

Great for little kids!

nice trail, not marked well so easy to get off the trail. beautiful view if you climb up once to get to the canyon. you can see Bell Rock by climbing.

Easy hike with very beautiful stream and canyon views. We arrived early at sunrise and found parking. By the time we were finished there was a line of cars waiting to park. It was unclear where the trail went at times but someone mentioned that the rain probably made it hard to see.

Easy trail, beautiful view of you go past the end of the maintained trail to hike up the rocks!

Very easy trail, but don’t bring your dogs unless they are short leashes or well behaved. There were numerous dogs that were on a long leash and it made the narrow parts of the trail difficult.

Also, definitely hit this trail before 8 if you don’t want to be bombarded by people or struggle for parking. Other than that, it’s is absolutely gorgeous!

Slide Rock is beautiful. It can be busy at times. We actually parked far, then just hiked down from where we parked. Found a secluded swim area. Not recommended for everyone to do this as it is a steep, primative hike down.

Nice leisurely hike and the trail is well maintained.

This was a great brisk hike! It is mainly sand and medium sized rocks up until the end of the maintained trail. Off the beaten path you can climb up the side of a mountain. It’s pretty easy and gives you an amazing view at the top!

This trail is one of the prettiest I have been on! Not a difficult hike but the trail in spots is not very clear. Some of the plants are so overgrown. Park near the road closure and walk a bit through the houses.

Parking was poor but a nice easy hike. We had our 20 month old in a pack and was comfortable the entire time. Several creek crossings and enough areas to stop and let the kid play. A little busy with lots of hikers so if you’re looking for seclusion this may not be for you.

Great trail overall! We took the advice of others and extended our hike past the “trail end.” It’s a short, moderately steep climb that’s a must do because you get to see some amazing views that you would otherwise completely miss! Totally worth the extra climb....Also, make certain that you take the time to find the stacked stones that are roughly a half mile up the trail signifying the arch off to the east side of the trail. It’s very hard to miss because it’s well disguised, but if you follow the trail and get up to the arch, you will be in for the most amazing views and a private area that very few actually get to enjoy because they miss it entirely! Have fun!!!!!

Meandering sandy trail following a stream bed along a canyon bottom. Lots of shade. Ends at canyon end - no active waterfall. Keep hiking up the left rock face for spectacular views back down the canyon

Moderate trail.

Easy trail...beautiful scenery all the way thru, especially once you get to Walnut Canyon. The Fisher Point spur might be more moderate, but I elected to avoid that and go as far into Walnut Canyon as possible. There is a sign near the entrance stating that the trail goes for appx 1 mile...don't believe it! Good trail for about 2 miles, then it gets a bit thin. I covered over 3 miles in before deciding to turn around. Ended up making it about a 14 mile venture.

The parking area takes national passes and the red rock pass. I tool 2 liters of water and that was not enough for me. I got to the first bend after a strenuous climb. At my age (65) I had to take frequent breaks, but this allowed me to enjoy the scenery. I would recommend this to anyone that is moderately to well fit but be sure to take plenty of water and snacks. Enjoy the scenery and the wildlife.

A great hike with beautiful views. Very uphill, but it's worth the steep climb.

This is a nice trail. You’re walking in sand in some spots. Weaving in and out of the sun for most of the trip. Nice cool spot at the trail end. Very easy and enjoyable.

This is among my favorite hikes. The first 3.3 miles are great, but the real fun begins at the end of the maintained trail. Wear your hiking shoes and bring your hiking sandals along. The trail is sandy so if you wear your sandals the whole way, you will have sand in them. We hiked an additional mile through the stream in the slot canyon and stopped for lunch on a large flat slab. It’s an easy hike with a few slippery spots so use poles when you enter the water. Great way to spend a day in Sedona.

We looked for an easy hike for beginners and it was as expected. Easy, beautiful and simple.

Gorgeous view, water felt amazing it is longer than 7 miles though. It was a 9 mile hike.

Beautiful any time of year! Waterproof shoes when it’s cold and hiking sandals when it’s hot will help tremendously! Get there before 8am if you want a parking spot. If not go north about a quarter mile for street parking.

Great hike, love all the water crossings. Went on a Wednesday, raining the whole time but still well worth it!

Glad I had water resistant hiking shoes!

Great views en route to an opportunity to climb up to a very special vista looking back through the canyon. Really special! Be aware though that there is no maintained trail to the “arch”. Rather you are able to ramble up a cliff at the end that is high enough to view the arch. Does not detract from the experience at all!

Go to the end of the trail, then go about 100 more yards up. You can thank me later
