Did this hike a couple days ago, was great. Did it with two dogs they loved it. Only three other people logged in that day. Wasn’t too bad, took us about an hour 15 to get up and it’s a great trail to jog down.

Not too challenging of a hike. Good trails for pacing. The views from the fire tower were gorgeous.

hike was great,as were the views, but the fire tower was locked when we reached the summit at around 430pm. I would have given it 5 stars if it was open

first 2 miles are enjoyable with mostly hard packed dirt, roots, and occasional rocks. the last mile made me almost turn around...we had our boxer dog on leash and she needed to be lifted at times. toward the top it gets really hard to keep on trail. we missed trail to tower to find an even better lookout. on way down, we found tower. I would do this again, with more daylight to enjoy the amazing views. my app and watch said it was over 8 miles.

This is a nice quick day hike, not difficult at all. what great views at the top just wish the tower was open.

The entrance to the trailhead is crazy. We came in a jeep so it was a lot of fun, but I don't know how some of the smaller cars made it, there are some pretty big pot holes and none of it is paved. This hike was a lot harder than I had expected. I had read the reviews, but still figured it wouldn't be too bad since it was such a short hike. The trail was is good condition, but the tower needed some work. Toward the top of the tower it was completely open no chicken wire, etc around the stairs. The tower was locked but you can still climb up for great views. The bottom of the tower is all rock so it's a nice spot to sit and eat lunch before your way down. It had just rained all week before we went so it was a little slippery but overall a fun hike!

This was a difficult hike mostly up steep terrain. Coming down is slippery -bring walking sticks. I would call this more than moderate difficulty.

Gorgeous views, a few steep inclines but not too bad. Very kid friendly. The fire tower is better maintained than most, and there was even an informative steward at the top! Definitely worth seeing.

For sure one of the more difficult hikes we have been on. It was a challenging hike but very rewarding and beautiful at the summit. Prepare to get your heart rate up. Great for older kids...not for younger ones....and our King Charles loved the hike....recommend for all but bear in mind...this is no cake walk!

Hiked 9/27/17. It was unseasonably hot that day, even around 5:00 pm. There was no one else on the trail this day, so I had the mountain to myself. There are some very steep sections but the view at the top is beautiful. My garmin showed a total of 2.5 miles and it took me about 90 minutes round trip.

I've been on both trails ,not impossible bfir a first timer like me. view from top could be better. the only way to see the view is if you go up the tower

The view from the fire tower is incredible. Such a beautiful view of the surrounding land.

The first three miles were easy, nothing strenuous. The final push to the summit is steep and very tough! It is nearly a mile of serious climbing. It was a challenge for me, but my son basically jogged up to the summit, arriving 30 minutes before me. The view from the cliff face is spectacular. Push on to the tower about 50yards further, and take in the 360 views. The tower needs a little work, as some fencing was missing from this higher levels, but it’s strong otherwise. We did the climb after 5 days of rain, a little slick and muddy, but not terrible. The descent was difficult in the steepest section, after that it’s an enjoyable walk back to the vehicle. My app said it was 8.1 miles round trip.

Nice trail. Good views in the middle and on the summit.

Hadley was a lot steeper than I was led to believe. The view at the top was worth it though! My Fitbit tracked it to be more than 4 miles, not the 3.4 listed above.

Awesome hike, Decent incline- Worth the views. check out the back side once at top, awesome views!

This is a hike that I've done about 12 times. It was the first mountain that I climbed as a child and a climb that I do almost every year that I am back to my home town. It can be steep at times, but the path is well defined. It can be crowded at times and might best to hike on a weekday if you want to avoid a lot of people. Very kid friendly.

1st mountain I’ve hiked! Great experience. Definitely got harder the last mile. Moderate traffic but not too bad. The view was amazing from the fire tower!

A very enjoyable short little hike. My husband and I hiked this with our dog on a leash (a corgi) on July 21. We liked the option of two different trails and the ability to hike it in a loop. The view from the fire tower was great. It’s too bad the old ranger cabin has been so badly vandalized. This is a nice hike for beginners or if you’re just looking for a short trail. We actually drove an hour east after this to hike to Spruce Mountain Fire Tower (working on the Fire Tower Challenge) and bumped into another hiker who had the same plan. The two trails together make for a nice day of activity. One note, the parking lot was jammed full as we were leaving before noon. Get there on the early end of things if you need to park.

Amazing views from the firetower!

Steady incline for most of the hike with several areas being solid rock with no ground covering (which we referred to as sidewalk). Great views but quite busy!

Spectacular views but can get pretty muddy towards the top!

Solid moderate hike on one of the first days that wasn't horribly hot in nearly a month. First 2 miles is relatively flat, last 1.1 miles from the sign is steep with a large amount of exposed rock. Two of the steepest sections have railings and one has a ladder. Bugs were horrible below the sign. Roughly 1.5 hours up, 1.25 down.

Fire tower foundation has been replaced, but it does not appear that any restoration was done above ground level. You need to climb a 7 foot ladder with no fall protection to reach the cab from the top landing.

There's a decent amount of parking in a lot off of the road at the trailhead. There was VERY heavy trail traffic even on a Thursday, likely because the trail was recently reopened.

Fire tower was cool when I went to the top and the tv thing was awesome I loved it

Took us 2 and a half hours to get to the top, and 2 hours and 20 to get down with a few minute breaks. Beautiful views, worth the trip, definitely a hard trail for beginners.

took me an hour and 57 minutes to summit, the last 1/2 mile is steep and challenging if the trail is muddy, but well worth the trip up.

I hiked this trail last weekend as the first stop (chosen at random) for the Firetower Challenge. Fairly straight forward, it was steeper than I expected at some points but I’m also pretty out of shape. Views were amazing up at the fire tower and the steward was friendly and helpful in answering everyone’s questions. Lots of dogs and kids on the trail that day, which was nice to see. I would definitely hike it again.

How neat is the view from here? I had half of my father's ashes strewn on the summit.
