We did this in the spring toward the end of the rainy season, hoping to catch the waterfalls. They were more like trickles at that point, but the hike was easy and beautiful. We saw many lizards along the way, which was fun as well. The views were fantastic. A great hike.

Fairly easy and nice long walk

I’ve done this trail from beginning to end and back again! A few times! I love all of it, the views are amazing and so are the trails and steps! It’s one that I will keep doing until I feel accomplished with my finish time, and even then, I will still do it because I personally like it!

Beautiful hike.

An easy, pleasant hike with an abundance of wildflowers. White-crowned sparrows greet you from the tall grasses and ravens croak overhead. During the right months of spring or winter, you might see multiple grey whales migrating along the coast. Bring some binoculars and take in the views.

Took the SF ferry to Saulsilito and the shuttle to the park. Make reservations early enough to get the time you want on the shuttle.

The main trail with the boardwalks is well done and really nice. We got there early 9:30 so not as many people as when we left around 2pm - busy.

Walked Bootjack trail towards the meadow. No one was in this trail due to the “beware of wasps” sign. We saw them but no issues.

We also did the Fern trail to lost trail to canopy trail which was great! A bunch of steps going up but a different perspective from the top of the forest than the bottom.

My favorite trail in SF

Good hike - views were nice. Parking lot is really small but since we went on a weekday we got a spot. Very steep near the start but otherwise a pleasant hike. Saw lots of lizards and a baby king snake. Got engulfed in a ladybug swarm which was a little strange! Can get a little warm in spots but not bad even in summer.

My wife & I did the "Canopy View/ Lost/ Fern Creek Trails Loop" that was posted near the entrance of the National Monument area, close to the Visitor Center. The ~2.7km loop was moderately challenging with most of the first half being uphill. Lots of great views of the canopy before coming back down to the main area. We loved it! There were lots of other trail options and we'd love to go back!

Nice hike in San Francisco with beautiful views of Golden gate . I'm not sure if weekdays is busy as weekends . trail was pretty crowded for that Saturday but it defenetly worst that to see scenario views and do some cardio at same time .

Beautiful hike! It is moderate and goes around the bay :-)
Nice views of Golden Gate all the way. If you want to hike all the way to Golden Gate, you need to walk through BEAUTIFUL homes in SF! The one's which are like my Dream Homes! Oh well moving on, the hike is simple walk from the trail end to GG.

I would rate this hike as easy / moderate! Some elevation which is nullified by the beautiful views.

#1, get a reservation for parking.
#2, get here super early.
#3, download your maps.

If early, you can do the soon-to-be-crowded part first with relatively no one around. Which is nice. Once you are back on the trails you may not see anyone for a half-hour at a time.

This whole area is what you make of it. Bring your maps!

We did this route minus the Hillside Trail Loop and it can kick your ass if in average shape.

The Sky trail is beautiful but very overgrown with poison oak in many places so be cautious and wear long pants. If you want to hike down to the beach from Sky Camp but avoid poison oak, I'd recommend using the Fire Lane Trail. It's a little less scenic but less overgrown so you can avoid the poison oak.

The hike is very beautiful with views of golden gate and fairly moderate trail with mostly flat terrain. We got there early(by 7.00 am) , so the parking was ample and the trail was less trafficked. The weather was just perfect for a hike.

Great views, not always clear and usually windy. Definitely a fairly easy walk and great for dogs.

Definitely come here early in the morning. Just went on July 15, and we were glad we got there early at 8:30. Got the trial to ourselves and made it down to Eagle’s point. We hung out for a bit and circled around to the Legion of Honors museum and made our way back down to the coastal trail. On the way back there were a TON of people. Glad we came early to secure parking and made sure we didn’t have to walk side by side with everyone else that just start the trail. Great scenes here and there for a quick photo with the bridge. Will come again soon, but a lot earlier to get the trails to ourselves.

Easy walk down to the beach. You can book to camp there too. Finding parking on top was a pain since there’s very limited space. There was no swing when I went.

Great views, stairs help with the steeper paths.

Great two hour hike with incredible views of the bay at the top. Took a detour to check out the houses on Wolfback Ridge, and another to take in the stellar view at the little cutoff in the middle of the SCA trail. Don’t miss that one! Note that the map is wrong, there’s no Julian Trail from Bunker Road to Rodeo Valley Trail. Looks like it never even existed either.

Nice trail with great views! The negative is that many tourist congest the trail, so def get there before 10am.

The park was so beautiful!

Is an awesome walk along the coast with stunning views. Sutro baths are super interesting too! The paths are easy to navigate and there are often stairs when it gets steep. Would definitely recommend, is suitable for most!

If the weather is good, as it was for me, this cannot be beat for views. One after another spectacular view along the Coastal Trail. The return leg takes you past the golf course and Legion of Honor. Also has a fair climb that will get your heart pumping, as will the stairs along the Coastal Trail and down to the Labyrinth. Also worth checking out the nearby Sutro Baths.

NOT A HIKE you pay $10.25 to enter what is basically a gated community and there are no trails. I’m disappointed in you, California state parks.

So fortunate to have caught it on a clear day. Easily one of the most beautiful urban hikes I've seen. Parking was a breeze at the visitors center.

Enjoyed this scenic hike. Beautiful views of the ocean, greenery, and Golden Gate bridge. It was super pleasant on a sunny but cool and clear day.

Beautiful trail with lots to see. Didn’t see any shipwrecks though. It’s also a long trail. Our map took us on a loop at the end. The loop further away from the coast isn’t as scenic. A lot of people were going back along the coastal trail.

The traffic was moderate but not too bad for a Sunday.

Beautiful view and a great hike to go with friends and family.

Great trail. Not to difficult. A lot of stairs. The views of the bridge are amazing. Would definitely do again
