Trail to mt Cutler is lined with very cool rock formations once you near the top. definitely worth it!

This hike is basically a novelty. It is neither peaceful nor beautiful (except geologically, of course) because of its urban location. Nevertheless, it is neat, and I was excited when I discovered you can scramble to the top of the rock.

I started at Palmer Lake this morning at 7:30am going South stopped at Ice Lake at the Air Force Academy ate my PB & J sandwich while overlooking the Lake (so serine) mounted my bike and continued South to my Rondevu point Trader Joe’s parking lot where my wife scooped me up . It was approximately 20 miles it took 2 1/2 hours taking my time.. no problem whatsoever traverse then on to the Air Force Base it is permissible as long as you’re not carrying weapons and stay on the trail... this trailer is very nice for runners individuals like myself just getting some miles in on my bicycle.. I would most definitely do it again ...

easy workout with beautiful view. fun hangout and yoga stop at the top

favorite trail

Kids loved it- twin 6 year old girls and 11 year old boy! Perfect for our fam!

Very easy, great for beginners. Loved the petrified trees and got lots of pretty pictures.

The trail is easy until reaching the base of Pulpit Rock, when the trail begins a quick rocky ascent. We scrambled up some steep loose rocks to reach the top and were rewarded with a 360 view that included Colorado Springs and Pike’s Peak. We took the long way down the back side of the Rock which required traversing a narrow rocky, sometimes steep path. The trails are not marked, so we wondered at times if we were on the right path....we were! Total: 2.7 very HOT miles...temp 91 degrees and most of the hike was in full sun.

Beautiful views. Brought my 6 and 8 year olds and they did great. There are 4 or 5 narrow spots with steep drop offs, but as long as your kids listen and follow directions they will be fine. But, if you have kids that tend to run ahead or don’t listen well, then you might want to skip this one. Mostly uncovered sunny trail but areas of shade to find a spot to take a break if needed.

Quick, easy hike with stunning views!

Awesome trail for a recent Colorado transplant from Tennessee. Not super difficult but the payoff in mountaintop views, y’all - Just do it. We also did the Muscoco trail in the same trip, and totally recommend this method as they are both super rewarding and super manageable. Got there just before 9:00 am on a Saturday and parking was already getting pretty hard to find, so keep that in mind. Well maintained trails. Gorgeous views. And only 15 minutes from the city. We will be back!

Nice hike with beautiful views throughout. Although it’s pretty easy there are still some sheer drop offs and slippery rocks so be careful and don’t take it for granted. Nice spot at the top to take in the views. I enjoyed this quick hike.

One of my favorites in town. So many different trails and loops for a short or long hike. Stroller friendly on main paths; up until the climb to the top. Child carrier preferred for this location. Happy hiking!

We started our bike ride from old town monument to Palmer lake. It’s a gravel rode surrounded by beautiful scenery. Easy ride. Would have given it 5 starts if there was more shady parts. It was a pretty hot day. Will definitely do it again.

Awesome scenic view at the top! 7 and 10 year old kids did great. Family friendly.

Beautiful easy, short hike with great views. Did it in 45 minutes with plenty of stopping and chatting with other hikers.

Never saw a waterfall, but it was a great hike. The kids enjoyed dipping their feet in the water and looking for crawfish. Yes, crawfish. Good length for a family and enough shade to take the edge off the heat.

Super short and easy hike in a beautiful setting

Great trail for a quick hike near Colorado Springs! I would probably start earlier in the day rather than later, as parking tends to fill up pretty fast - we drove up and down the road by the trailhead a couple of times before we caught somebody leaving to get a parking space for a 10:30 A.M. hike. Easy trail, beautiful views, and anyone from medium age kids to adults will enjoy. I say medium age kids, because a couple of areas of exposure might make those who aren't wild about keeping an eagle eye on little ones for safety reasons or those who are not crazy about heights nervous. Would like to tack on the side jaunt to Muscoco next time up.

I love this whole place. I usually like to enter on the north side as it is much less crowded than the East. I've done all the trails and recommend them for all skill levels.

Beautiful trail for a quick hike! There are a couple of areas that appear to have runoff damage.

Great water fall and city views.

Nice that it was less traffic than the main Garden of the Gods path - we still got some beautiful views, and some shade on the path. The app was very handy - we could easily take the smaller trails without getting lost.

A great intro hike for those like me not used to the high altitudes. At the top there's nothing but the sound of birds and the bells from the Will Rogers carillon across the valley.

we hiked the L trail to the K trail making a loop. I'm pregnant and haven't hiked since last year. but I reached my limit and had to get out. this was an easy hike with short uphill portions towards the end that were just enough to make me breath a bit heavier but not wind me. There was plenty of shade and resting places and amazing views. We even saw lizards and snakes and many birds. there were spots by the creek with large boulders to cross over but they were absolutely manageable. my 6 and 8 year old handled the hike very well. we saw many other children and people of all ages managing fine. next time we will start on the K trail go view the dam and then back track to the l trail.

Nice trail with a beautiful view at the top.

Great views from the top of Pulpit and then finish it off with a hike around the 4 mile scenic loop. I saw to bucks and a doe cling to the rocks along the way. Enjoyable and easy hike, except to the top of Pulpit which is maybe moderate. Enjoy!!!!

This app was so useful! Lots of trail options to get you up to pulpit rock. We had fun going off the main path. We stayed on the lookout for rattlesnakes & luckily did not see any! We did get to see a beautiful red deer.
