Nice, short trail for a quick nature getaway. It is quite steep if you enter from Settler’s Park, much more than expected. There are beautiful views of Boulder at the top. Bring lots of water and sunscreen as there’s not much shade.

This hike is great for a very easy hike with some awesome views. If you enter from Eldorado Springs you'll have to pay $8 to park your car, but you really see where that money goes while walk the well manicured trail with retaining walls on the side. If you park at the other end of the trail it's free (considered Boulder Open Space). The first half of the hike is very scenic, while the rest is pretty open and not as many views. I would suggest branching off to Spring Brook North Trail or Rattlesnake Gultch.

Vraiment beau paysage !!

Beautiful trail. Definitely arrive by 7:30 am to avoid heavy traffic. If you are not an early riser and always lucky, arrive around 10 am to take the early birds' spots.

on Lake Isabelle Trail

Beautiful BUT: The Lake is now drained. There's only little water left. no more waterfall, and compared to a month ago most of the wildflowers are now gone.
Still a nice walk/hike, would suggest going later in the day as it gets crowded in the morning.

Beautiful scenery but there are better ones than this lake.

Very easy beginner trail but so beautiful everyone will want to go. I walked Bear lake trail first then took Alberta Falls Route. A lot of people on weekends.

It's worth the uphill grade to see Emerald Lake. Very pretty and attainable.

Great little hike. Got there at 830 ish and had to park further away.

Beautiful stream and gorgeous lake

Did this hike with wife and kids (2 and 5), had hiking child carriers.

This hike without other factors should be a 5. Three great hikes in a short hike. But the amount of people on this trail just ruins it. Started at 830 and already way too late.

Once you get the lakes don't find a place to sit down immediately as other do. Explore around the lake to find some solitude.

Really want to do this hike again but starting at 530 am.

Did this hike with wife and kids (2 and 5). Had hiking carrier for them but they also took turns hiking.

I’m honestly hesitant to give this a review because of how good it is. This is a hidden gem (from tourism) and perfect alternative to the emerald lake, dream lake, lily lake, etc. It’s also not only easy, but a great duration. I suggest an evening hike for the sunset at Lake Isabelle, absolutely incredible. Check weather though for any afternoon hikes, always.

Beautiful hike despite all the people.

Four lakes along the trail. There are all beautiful. My favorite is the dream lake. I went there in summer and it's so cool. Imagine How I was happy as I went there from south Arizona!

I combined this trail and the Emerald lake trail, for totally about 4 hours. The scenes along the trail are very good. Maybe because the elevation here is too large (~3000m), I was very tired although the trail is not hard.

This trail was gorgeous but we went on a Wednesday and it was extremely busy. It was a pretty easy trail for an amazing view.

Easy trail with amazing views of the Flatirons.

Gorgeous scenery. Went in early August and it was like something out of a fairytale. Great hike for all ages! If you’re up for a beautiful 9+ miles I recommend parking at Bierstadt trailhead and taking the shuttle up to Emerald Lake trail, hike to Emerald Lake and back, then take the trail to Bear Lake, hike from Bear to Bierstadt, then return to your vehicle. Amazing journey! Enjoy!!

Hike to Alberta Falls was easy and nicely groomed but heavy foot traffic. Attempted trail to Mills Lake but ran out of time. that trail was equally nice. On way back hiked to Bear Lake (all up hill) but very nice.

I hiked this both from Bear Lake trailhead and Glacier Gorge trailhead. I preferred entering via Glacier Gorge trail because it was a little more scenic. The difference - hiking from Bear Lake trailhead, you'll descend for quite a while until you begin ascending toward the falls. If you start from Glacier Gorge trailhead, you'll be ascending. This starting point will offer you more cardio.
The walk to the falls is lovely and offers you views that span for miles. Gorgeous. ...but even more gorgeous if you pass the falls and hike to either MIlls Lake or Loch Lake. Trust me, it's worth it. :)
The reason why I'm giving it only 3 stars is for a couple reasons - it's populated with tourists who aren't equipped to hike to the falls. Point being, they're a hazard, so watch out. Secondly, although I thought the falls were lovely and the sound soothing, I thought they'd be grander. If you hike on towards one of the lakes further up the trail, you'll continue to parallel the falls, which is nice because that sound of rushing water accompanies you.

Best hike in Colorado! Beautiful views and an easy hike without a lot of elevation gain

Beautiful hike. We saw some elk, cut throat trout, whitetail deer.

Beautiful. Well-marked hike.

The cows made my day! Nice views otherwise.

Lovely, easy trail. The falls are just beautiful. Can get busy, but there's plenty of room for everyone to move around and enjoy. Keep going up to Loch Lake Trail, it's more challenging and worth the hike.

Being widely regarded as one of the best destinations in RMNP cuts both ways. On the one hand, Emerald Lake is absolutely gorgeous and well worth the fairly modest hike. On the other hand, the trail and lake are packed with people from roughly 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The number of idiotic parents letting their kids feed the animals at the end was particularly distressing (animals get sick, kids risk getting plague or tularemia, etc.). I gave this four stars because it's a 3/5 most of the day, unfortunately, and a 6/5 when you have the place more or less to yourself.

Simply spectacular!

Beautiful.

Since the afternoon thunderstorm did not happen, I took shuttle from Estes Park at 3:50p and arrived at Bear lake trail head by 4:30pm. There was only another couple in the shuttle. Shuttles heading down, on the other hand, were all packed with hikers.
It was a good time to hike up as not many people were heading up the trail then, whereas lots of people were heading down. Lots of little kids on the trail too. By the time I came down at 6pm the crowd was definitely thinning out.
I gave it 4 star due to the crowd. But hike itself was very nice with some nice views and easy climb with lots of stairs.

Decent hike, lakes are pretty amazing! Crowded path and in the lakes.
