Beautiful trail. Come early morning on workday if possible to avoid crowds.

2018/10/13 Saturday (Hiking Date). Best hike. Very good views (Falls, Lake). It is a rocky trail with lot of stairs. Total of around 7.5 miles. Tip: Visit the lake first as it needs more energy and then cover 0.5 mile trail to Falls on return. Also been there in 2017. Will I go there again? Yes.

Freezing. Gorgeous peaks. Waterfall on the way. Sept 1.

im not in great shape so this was tough for me. im glad i did the falls first because i was exhausted by the time a got back down from the lake. it was soo worth it though. im used to doing hikes during the week so very surprised at the amount of people. a message to anyone who is on the hefty side, "you can do it." although it might take you longer and bring lots of water.

Just checked this trail today. As some have mentioned, the road to get to the trail is pretty brutal. I have a Jeep and I hit a few very iffy spots. Once you are there the parking is sufficient for about 10-12 vehicles. No facilities nearby.

The trail is in good shape, well maintained, with minimal roots. The bookends of the hike are rocky, but not bad at all. I experienced minimal bugs and people. It was just me and my little 9lb dog and we made it to the peak in about an hour and made it back down in about 45 minutes.

The peak is a sight to behold! Amazing 180 mountain views on a clear day. To get up to the peak there is a cable wire to use, which came in handy! We sat up there for about 30 minutes, had a nice lunch, and prepared for the climb down.

This is easily one of my new favorites for a shorter, moderate hike!

Random note: as we hit about the halfway point I regained cellphone service (AT&T) and the signal grew stronger the higher we went. Which is always nice if there is an emergency.

Great trail, the falls are definitely a must on the way to the lake. It didn't feel as though as we thought it would be. It was crazy busy so that kinda took away from the magic.

Great views and well maintained path. River was great to dip hands and feet in to cool down.

Unfortunately was really crowded on a warm August day which can be a downer when other people’s loud conversations and kids throwing rocks into the river is not the main point of going into nature.

Other than the too-many-people

Beautiful fall day for my first trip up to see Pete. As others have said, it is a very steep hike once you leave the main trail that goes from Ira Springs to Dirty Harry’s. Although I wanted to traverse over to Defiance, I didn’t have quite enough time remaining in the day, so went down the steep trail. Beautiful views at the top.

Loved doing this trail in early October! Such a beautiful time of year here. The bridge for waterfall viewing was magic. The trail took us about 2 hrs out and back, and was much steeper than I had imagined, but a good workout.

Easy and beautiful hike!

Awesome experience! I’ve never done a subterranean hike and this was absolutely amazing. It wasn’t too crowded today. I went al the way back on the lower trail until I belly crawled to a point where my brain said enough! I did a small portion of the upper trail as I soon realized my knee injury didn’t approve. I will return and finish that tho. Again. Amazing! But please please please bring a headlamp or flashlight. Saw a few iPhone users and it just didn’t cut it.

Fantastic trail! the falls is a quick and easy trip and you should definitely make the side 0.5mile visit. catch it in the fog and be ready for amazing pictures.
the lake requires much more work, not hard but persistent elevation gain through a mostly well kept trail with wide-breasted stairs throughout. plenty of things to look at along the way not just boring dirt. the lake itself was clouded out for me but still awesome to be up there.

This trail was absolutely beautiful. The trail was well maintained and clearly marked. It rained the night before so some of the trail had standing water but it was easy to go around it. The hike to the falls was slightly challenging with some incline and stairs but not grueling. This is a heavily trafficked trail with plenty of parking. Really loved the scenery on this trail.

Super beautiful !! A few inclines but nothing too terrible !!

Lots of mushroom :)
Easy in most parts. Just before the waterfalls is a narrow slippery part of 10-15 meters.
Don’t forget to bring 5 dollars for parking.

Nice fall hike. Oct 7. Hiked to Bridal Falls then to lake Serene. Total mileage is about 8.4 miles. Started at 1115am, was in my car at 315pm. With maybe 25min spent at the falls and 25 min at the lake.

Was a bit disappointed this wasn’t as long as I thought it was and more of a walk than a hike. It’s main attraction is the fish ladder. No pass is need to park.

amazing cool day. easy walking. beatiful waterfall.

I took my 7 Cubscouts on this trail yesterday. They were all so focused on getting up the steep path as fast as they could that they missed quite a bit of the scenery but I can’t wait to come back with a good camera! It was so beautiful! Definitely best enjoyed in the autumn.

Kids had a blast. My kids are younger so we stuck with the lower caves. But, I would love to come back at some point for the upper section. Definitely worth while for everyone to explore. Bring good lights and back ups.

Amazing trail, easy walk with some ascending in some parts (which is good for exercise). This trail is very rewarding!

Beautiful hike and waterfall at the end. Easy for myself and 11 year old daughter.

Pretty easy and nice!

Hiked Oct 2017, strenuous and totally worth it. Really enjoyed this one. Don’t go chasing waterfalls, get to the lake first and then stop by the falls on the way down. We wasted way too much time at Bridal falls

You can just go rogue in the caves with a headlamp it was absolutely sick

First rainy hike since moving to the PNW a few months ago. Went to Lake Serene and skipped the falls. I would rate this trail as more moderate, it's steadily uphill but not technical at all with well a manicured trail and well positioned rocks for your climbing needs. The lake was beautiful even in the rain and you pass a few smaller waterfalls on the way up.

Went with my sister and 3.5yr old son. Loved it!!! The views at the falls are gorgeous. You need the Northwest Forest Pass or $5 to use this trail!

great hike

Fun hike! Not hard if you pace yourself. Once at the ridge its an easy cruize to the scramble, which is loads of fun with the cable to help. View was mist today, so coming back when there is sun.

Road has some very rough patches, suv highly recommended, if not required.
