Quite a drive! wasn't awesome in a Toyota Corolla. Definitely follow the Forest Service directions to actually find it. Beautiful! I've been there twice.

the mapping for this trail is severely incorrect and my daughter and I ended up on a BLM logging trail, and very disappointing. if you attempt to locate, please stop before you hit the BLM roads.

Very great little hike! Not too hard at all, some up hill parts, but just enough to speed your breath up. The map seemed to be a bit off, but I’m no expert on that. Very beautiful and green. Plan to go back with a hammock and a book!

What a gem! Coming down the trail was a bit tricky and slippery due to loose dirt/rock, but overall a great time. One of the foot bridges are broken, but easily passable. We took a left at the at the path intersection and found the lower falls.

First, there's no parking/usage fees but there is limited parking near the gate (right after a large brown/green house on the left and a scenic byway sign on the right), otherwise you'll have to park off the highway. Id say near the gate it'll probably fit 6-7 cars.
Second, this is great for dogs but probably not smaller or older dogs as there are some downed logs and large rocks you have to get over.
Third, there's some streams but easily maneuvered around. I imagine in spring they are not passable without walking through them.
Fourth, there are quite a few spots with growth hanging over the path, no biggie for most, but some may want to wear long sleeves/pants. Some growth is salmon(?)berry bushes with small thorns.
All in all, the hike was awesome! Some spots where you need to hoof it but the end is worth it. The falls near the House Rock are beautiful. Got there at 8 and saw no one else until we were almost back at the beginning.

Great hike along the river! We covered nearly 15 miles and enjoyed the waterfall at the halfway point. Escaped without a single mosquito bite! Easy to refresh with a dip in the river at almost any point. Looking forward to camping there next time!

We managed to go about 15 miles, water is super clear, plenty of good swimming stops along the way. There are a hang full of roots and rocks in the path, so watch your toes. bug level was very low. 7/8/2018

Good climb. Clocked 2100 ft. Trail is clear but a little overgrown in parts. Every shade of green, light on wildflowers but you will see some. View at the top is pretty. There are more impressive views in the West Cascades, but having seen many, this was a great trail to explore.

Peaceful easy hike. Great growth and shade at the start and new growth after last years fire towards the falls. Easy access and soft trail.

Water is clear and beautiful and the waterfalls are awesome!

pretty easy until it starts to go straight down. kind of a goat trail at that point. moderate danger level. Very beautiful. great pics!

We wanted a nice easy hike for my fiancé, our dog and I, and we got it! The trail was very clean and open, and although we didn't quite make it to Fern Falls, Deadline Falls was quite beautiful! The thing that stopped us was the poison oak on the trails since we were worried about our dog trying to get into it. Other than that, we can't wait to come back, maybe this time minus the dog.

Beautiful forest hike. Gradually ascends. Ran into a group of bikers and one hiker, pretty empty.

That said, Eagle Rest itself is a mediocre vista (for Oregon), due to the timber cropping in the area. Some hills harvested to the dirt.

Still, if you live in the Eugene area and you want a nice little hike thru the forest, with less foot traffic than Spencer and Pisgah... this meets the criteria

While reading up on Eugene's Lifestyle, I came across a great article on the history and making of the trails.
The end of the article provides specific directions by those who were involed in the rehab/creation of the falls trails.
This is definately on my list of future adventures.

started early and encountered noone on the trail, wildflowers are blooming, both falls are running, just an awesome hike!

Good hike! Although if tying in to Eagles rest hike, be aware that there is about a 2 mile section between the end of Goodman and start of Eagles rest. According to my William Sullivan book it is 14 miles total when combined. I didn't find this out until after second guessing my internal odometer and read my book once reaching the top of Eagles rest. Fairly difficult altogether, but well worth it. There is a cool mini fall and log bridge on Goodman and a timber hut used for old pack trains back in the day; if you continue up to the rest. That's when you know you are in track. It gets tough after the second trailhead across the road, but keep plugging. The view is well worth it from the top!

falls were awesome

as far as getting there don't use the directions provided by Google maps. it takes you on a horrible road with overgrown brush which will scratch the heck out of your car. we took I believe the 919 to the 48 road back out. we detoured and hit lower smith falls and came back Vincent creek road which was all paved. Don't quote me on the road numbers but just check into it further before you follow the directions provided.

I started this 14 mi. total round trip hike at the Hardesty/Goodman trailhead on Hwy 58. Separately Goodman and Eagles rest are moderate, but if you link them they are more difficult. Goodman ends at an unmarked campspot next to a mini falls. This is where it's mileage is calculated I believe. I kept plugging along past the 2 trailheads, one is about 2 mi. and the upper is .7 mi. from the top. Very gorgeous view from the top and well worth the full trek. Very rewarding when you're done.

The trail was short very, small path, was very hard to find. The road up to it was kinda small and had very large and deep pot holes.

Great hike in the middle of the forest. It follows the creek and has a small waterfall. One end meets up with Eagles Rest trail. It is about 2 miles long and small incline in places. Great view of the lake and mountains.

Very nice trail, when you start it will be down hill to the creek below which meets up with Goodman trail. It is shorter so I recommend planning to add Goodman trail also.

One of my favorites

We enjoyed this trail thru the Old Growth Willamette Forest. A little over two miles in is the Goodman creek and has a cute little waterfall and swimming hole. We took the Goodman Creek fork. Little muddy in spots but trail is in good condition. Lots of wild flowers we enjoyed this hike. Will be back to do one of the other seven hikes off this trail.

great hike
well worth the drive and some good hill work to get back up

Beautiful trail and a pretty easy hike! The waterfall was stunning. It was late by the time we got there, so we only hiked in to the first falls. We climbed over the big boulders and were able to get right by the waterfall.
I️ drove up in a Honda Civic and would NOT recommend doing the same! Came home with a flat tire. The drive up is very bumpy and long. I think it’s worth it though if you have a Jeep or something that can handle a gravel road that’s not maintained very well.

hiked to the waterfall (more like a tall rapid) yesterday. The trail was decently maintained with only a tree or two over the trail but boy was it slick and muddy in some spots. Luckily I was the only one with a decent pair of boots and didn't take any spills but my two friends weren't so lucky.

Trail was excellent. Three beautiful waterfalls are definitely worth it. The directions that are on this app make you take this extremely overgrown road that scratched up my car so much. Don’t use that road if you care about your vehicle.
